Chapter 220 220: Promotion
Lycorice reached out her hand to help Elias up. Elias grabbed her hand, and forced his body up.
The moment their hands touched, he felt his body growing more comfortable. His body had started to heal to a great extent, and his complexion slowly recovered.
Even though the busy only had a small fragment of his soul, that fragment had also become stronger thanks to Lycorice. With her becoming stronger, he had also become stronger.
"You brought me quite a surprise."
Elias looked at the back of his hand. Even though he was possessing a body that had been a corpse for a long time, his recovery made it almost impossible to distinguish between his real body and a possessed corpse.
The merger storm slowly started to disappear, and with that, their sanctuary was gone. Through the disappearing storm, Elias caught the glimpse of Elten who was waiting outside for them.
"Not bad." Elten only said two words when he saw Lycorice's growth. Her progress had even surpassed his expectations, and he could even see that she carried an aura of death, which was quite compatible with him.
He knew that Lycorice was going to get stronger with the completion of the Merger, but even he didn't expect it to be to this extent.
Was there something special about Lycorice for her to grow to this extent in a mere low ranking world? Or was it simply because she was a variant? He couldn't be certain about it.
"Shall we return now?" Elten asked Elias, as they were the last ones left in this abandoned world.
Elias didn't refuse either. He accompanied his brother back to the last escorting battleship. And soon, they had also left earth's atmosphere, leaving the world abandoned once more.
There was one more thing that went unnoticed by Elten, and the others. Elias had left a small object buried under the ground where the merger storm had taken shape.
The item was something that Elias had found on a corpse of the Seniors at the Academy, but it had left a deep impact on him. Ever since he used analysis on the item, he came to realize the true extent of the small spatial formation stone's strength.
He was worried that his brother might notice it, so he buried it deep in the ground in a place that was filled with chaotic essence to hide the buried spatial essence.
Just as he had hoped, the spatial stone went unnoticed by Elten. It was the last connection that Elias had left with this world, but it was the most important step in his quest to conquer earth as his absolute domain without the interference of the Academy.
....
Throughout the return trip, Elias didn't leave his room. Elten also didn't come to disturb him, as he also spent the rest of his time sleeping.
Unlike the journey to earth, the return trip was much more peaceful. They didn't come across any Pirates on the way back, which allowed the return trip to be faster.
Within a few days, the battleship had already returned to the Realm of the Academy, passing through all the barriers that could even stop gods from forcing their way through.
As soon as they reached the Academy, Elten left without saying anything to Elias. The ship escorted Elias to the residential area of the Destroyer Faction.
Before long, Elias was in his mansion, allowed to truly relax with no oversight on him. On his way back, he did hear many people looking at him. The story about what had happened on earth had already spread across the entire academy.
In an instant, two classes were completely wiped out. Each first year class had only one student left, which was something that no one could have imagined before this.
It also made people take an interest in the two survivors. The Seniors were the most interested, as two interesting students had appeared.
Many senior students came to meet Elias, trying to get him to join their clubs. Some of the more prominent seniors didn't even come personally, but only sent a servant to deliver an invitation, as if Elias wasn't truly worthy of them making an appearance personally yet.
'Kaelen' had a much different experience at the Academy. Elias's main soul had returned much earlier than his secondary soul, and it had already met up with the Dean.
The Dean personally rewarded Kaelen the rewards that she had promised, including a high tier growth stone. He was also conferred the position of the star disciple of the Academy.
With that, his position was no less than a new professor at the Academy. The position also came with many authorities, as Elias was allowed to punish the students at the Academy that broke the rules.
All the Guards of the Academy were to listen to him when he needed to met out a punishment.
He was repeatedly warned to not use this authority unnecessarily, especially to kill someone.
He was told to only kill people if his own life was in danger, but even he understood that even if he killed someone insignificant, the Academy wasn't really going to do anything to him.
He had also been given a higher tier academy badge, along with a residence at the core area of the Academy's Realm. It was a place where only the Professors, and the Star Disciples were allowed to leave. And now, Elias also had a place in that area.
His badge also came with unlimited use of the Dimensional Gates. There was almost no area that was restricted to him. Even the badges of the founding family descendants didn't have access to so many places.
The Academy was truly trying to make Elias feel the privilege of being one of them, and he didn't mind it in the least. The more power he received from the Academy, the more freedom he was going to have.
There was only one problem. This position didn't just come with the authorities, but also with a responsibility. The Dean had personally agreed to teach him, and he wasn't allowed to reject the offer.
What do you think?
