Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 165: Bombarding into Oblivion

Elias found himself sitting in the boss room, right after passing through two tests, while everyone else had to go through a myriad of life threatening tests to reach the room with the Ice Phoenix Flames.

It was truly a place created by a gambler where luck reigned supreme. All he had to do was walk through the mirror to enter the final room which others had to fight with their lives to reach.

There was only one problem with the final room. It was that the room was filled with corpses that belonged to the seniors that had the highest chance of succeeding according to the Dean who sent them here.

The Seniors didn't have any wounds on their bodies. There were no signs of fighting either. It was more like they had just died out of nowhere after reaching the final room.

In the final room, there was only one person who was still alive and standing on their feet. But that person didn't belong to the Academy.

Every single person sent by the Academy had died already. Most of them died throughout the tests, and even those who survived until the end, lost their lives.

Elias didn't know how they died in the end, but he was certain that it had to do with the little twelve year old girl who came with the man from Chronos.

She was the only one still alive, and merely a few feet away from the core of Ice Phoenix Flames.

"Argh, to think that we came so far, only to watch someone else take the flames!" Astralious grabbed his head, seeing the girl approach the core.

He was still unaware that the mirror could lead them straight to that place if they wanted. He simply thought that they had already failed, and they were only made to watch this scene as a mockery arranged by the tomb's creator.

The girl reached out her hand to touch the Ice Phoenix Core. At the same time, Elias brought out a small hand grenade that he had evolved.

If the mirror was a portal that could lead him to that place, then he was convinced that it could also send other things to that place.

He pulled the pin of the grenade, and tossed it inside the mirror.

The girl was about to touch the Ice Phoenix Core, when she abruptly stopped. She felt a subtle spatial fluctuation, and turned back to find a small fruit-like object flying to her.

She raised her hand, and caught the grenade. She was visibly perplexed, unsure where this thing even came from, since she was the only living person here.

It was as if this thing had appeared out of thin air.

Boom~

The grenade exploded with a force hundreds of times stronger than normal. Dark smoke filled the room, obscuring everything. Elias couldn't see anything through the mirror, but he did hear a loud sound that followed the explosion.

Once the smoke dispersed, he saw the source of the second sound which came when the girl crashed against the wall, far away from the Ice Phoenix Core.

"Is she even a human?" Elias's frown deepened at the sight of the girl. Her clothes were torn from a few places, and there was a burn mark on the hand that she had used to grab that grenade.

That was the only extent of damage that she had suffered, which Elias found hard to believe. Even if he had taken an explosion at such close proximity, he would have been hurt more than the girl.

"We can use the mirror to enter that place?" Astralious was surprised about an entirely different thing.

"Is that what you should be thinking about now?"

"What are we waiting for? We should go to that place and take the Ice Phoenix Core."

"It's not that easy." Elias had used Analysis on the girl with silver pupils, but he witnessed a rare sight. There was no description on the girl's analysis screen. Even her stats were unclear.

He could only see a few things clearly, but those few things also looked extraordinary.

.........

Name: Ishira

Age: Twelve

Class Grade: Ex

Class Rank: 4

Affiliation: Chronos

.........

It was the first time he saw someone who had an Ex Rank Class, aside from him. It meant her class was at least in the same grade as his class.

Even worse was that her class had already evolved to rank four.

She had already gone through three evolutions when she was just twelve years old. Even after using the evolution stone, he had only gone through one evolution.

"She is the one who killed them, and that too, without even fighting. She most probably killed them in an instant. Do you still want us to go down there without knowing anything more?"

Astralious had grown a little too excited at the realization that they were so close to the Ice Phoenix Core which could help Elias even more.

His explanation came like a cold bucket of water being poured over his head to calm his hot head. If even Elias was being so serious, he understood just how serious this risk really was.

After all, he was the person who didn't even hesitate in kidnapping his own brother. If he was hesitating now, it wasn't a simple matter.

The girl landed on the ground, and looked at her burnt hand. She was clearly in pain, but she didn't show it. Instead, she looked around, still trying to find the source of that thing.

Did she activate some kind of trap when she tried to take the Ice Phoenix Core? At least that's what she believed.

She waited for a few more seconds, before approaching the Ice Phoenix Core again.

"I don't believe I can't bombard you to oblivion." Elias brought a landmine, that held even stronger force after evolution.

He tossed the landmine into the mirror like a frisbee. The girl again noticed the presence and turned around, but once again, the mine exploded under Elias's control, causing an explosion that was even felt in the boss room where Elias was sitting.
