Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 161 161: Beast of Divination

"Why do you have that?" The girl couldn't find herself to believe it.

Just a little while ago, Elias waved the identification badge of a direct descendant of the Esterin Family. And now he had one that belonged to the Asbborn Family?

"You knew about the effects of the bloody rose! You tricked me!" she exclaimed, with the realization slowly setting in.

Once she had given her answer, there was no point for Elias to show her the Esterin Family badge and the grin on his face, unless he knew that she could reverse her choice.

She bloody rose that was her greatest weapon, had become her shackles and shoved her into this unavoidable trap set by Elias.

If she had given the wrong answer, she would have failed. And if she gave the right answer, Elias would have made her change that answer with his manipulation.

Her shock at the realisation overwhelmed the shock of coming across an Ashborn Family descendant. Instead of using his might like other Ashborn Descendants, this child had used his brain.

It was as if nothing could escape his eyes. She even wondered if he could read her mind. Why else would he know about the use of the Bloody Rose.

"It's your turn." Elias kept the Asbborn Family identification back in his storage.

He didn't answer a single question that came from her, as there was no point. She was not her friend, and only one of them could leave this place alive. Both of them were simply trying to kill each other.

The girl looked at the statue, which was missing two arms now. And both the missing arms were on her side, with only one arm left facing her.

If she failed once more, then her life was as good as gone. She didn't even have the bloody rose anymore to change his choice later.

The panic had started setting in, and she couldn't calm herself. She walked back and forth, her breathing getting restless as she held her head and tried to think of a way to survive.

She couldn't even threaten Elias into sacrificing his own life, by using the might of her family.

If he was truly from an ordinary family, she could have just told him that he was going to be killed by her family if he left this place alive, instead of her. She could even threaten his family.

That was only valid if he came from an ordinary family though. Could she really threaten him by saying that her family was going to be destroyed if he didn't let her win?

He was a part of the freakin Ashborns, who were crazier than the Nightmare Tribe. Half the cards she held in her hand were made useless by the revelation of his family.

She couldn't blackmail him into sacrificing his life. She couldn't even kill him, as that was against the rules and she was going to be killed as well. There was really no other way that she could see.

Ten minutes passed in the back and forth, and there were only fifteen minutes left in the test.

"If he can truly read my mind, that means no matter what I say, he can find the answer as long as I know that answer."

After a long time, she returned to her place, growing more serious than ever. "Which means that... there is only one option to take away his advantage."

If he could read her mind, then the only other possibility for her to win was to say something that even she didn't know the authenticity of.

"Do you want to take another round back and forth? Or are you prepared?" Elias asked, not moving an inch from his place in the last ten minutes.

"Little child, you won't be smug for long." The girl clenched her fists, not letting Elias's words sway her emotions into making a mistake.

He was looking forward to the statement that she was going to make.

As long as it had something to do with the things that he had seen in her Analysis Screen, it was his victory. But if it wasn't, then things were slightly more complicated since he couldn't read her mind.

He still had one use of the pocket watch left, but based on the information that he learned about the watch, it was only useful in very specific situations.

The girl took a deep breath, and prepared for the risk that she was taking. As she didn't know the answer herself, the chances of success or failure were equal. Even a random guess from Elias could make her lose her life.

"Aliath Ashborn is alive," she said, and the words materialized before Elias.

Even she didn't know the answer to this question. Most people in the universe believed that he was dead, but the Ashborn Family had still not given up hope.

If Elias was part of the Ashborn Family and cared for his family, then she didn't believe he was going to say that he was dead. Wouldn't a child believe that his loving brother was still alive somewhere?

As long as he played along, the chances of her success were high since she played on Elias's emotions. And even if he didn't go according to his emotions, she still had a small chance of being right.

Elias raised a brow at the statement, not expecting something like this. Did the girl know something about the real fate of Aliath that even the Ashborn Family didn't know?

Her expressions didn't give anything away. It was almost impossible to read her face when it came to this statement.

'Did she... ask this because she didn't know either? Can this place even find the real answer in any case? It's just a small treasure, isn't it?' Elias looked at the golden words floating before him.

Aliath had disappeared long after the previous dean set up this place and passed away. From what he had guessed, this place verified the authenticity of the answers through their memories.

If that was true, and none of them knew the right answer, what was going to be the result? He wondered, looking at the trembling words.

He asked the question to Astralious using his thoughts.

"Taimut isn't an ordinary beast. It's also a beast of divination. So this space doesn't simply rely on your own memories, but also the divination when it comes to verifying answers," Astralious answered.

"At least that's my guess. I might be wrong, since the Taimut is dead, and i don't know how that man set up this space," he further clarified and swiftly took his hands off all responsibility of being wrong.
