Bear-san Uses Contract Magic

*Yuna’s PoV*

While we were all resting in our rooms, Balm-san requested me to come to his office, saying he had something to discuss with me.

“Yuna-san, please have a seat.” (Balm)

I sat down in the chair that he invited me to.

“Yuna-san, how did you get into the town?” (Balm)

An unexpected question.

“This town is in the middle of the desert, so not many people come and go. Only adventurers who live here and aim to hunt monsters go outside, as well as merchants would be travelling here. There aren’t many normal people who come to visit this town and only stay for a day. You could even say that most of the people in this town are acquaintances.” (Balm)

It was obviously strange when thinking about it.

But this was an isolated town.

“Yuna-san’s secret?” (Carina)

“Yes. I was curious about something, so I asked. I was told that to answer that question, I needed to make a contract, so I did the Contract Magic.” (Balm)

“Is it dangerous?” (Carina)

“No. Just like she explained, when I attempt to tell someone her secret, the only words that will come out is [bear]. It was a little embarrassing, however.” (Balm)

It would certainly be embarrassing to keep repeating the word “bear” in front of people.

Yuna-san was called by Balm-san and left the room.

After confirming this, Carina asked.

“I have a question for you, is that okay?” (Carina)

“What is it?” (Noa)

“Does Yuna-san always dress like that?” (Carina)

We looked at each other at the question.

Yuna-san was always dressed as Bear-san.

Wherever she went (even in the castle), or whoever she met (even the King), she was always dressed as a bear.

“She very rarely dresses differently. She usually dresses like that.” (Noa)

“Really?” (Carina)

“She wore a dress to my birthday party.” (Noa)

“She wore her uniform when we went to the royal capital’s school festival.” (Misa)

“Also, when we went to the beach, she wore a swimsuit.” (Fina)

For some reason, we felt the need to defend Yuna-san, so we discussed the times she wore different clothes.

“So that’s how she usually dresses.” (Carina)

We could only nod.

“Is that normal in your town?” (Carina)

I tried to imagine everyone dressed like a Bear.

“No, only Yuna-san dresses like that.” (Noa)

Carina looked at the uniform and seemed to want it.

But I only have one of these clothes.

The bear clothes that Misa and I were wearing were Fina and Shuri’s spare uniforms.

Maybe they have a new spare.

“Fina, do you have any spare uniforms?” (Noa)

“Yes, I do.” (Fina)

Fina answered and took out similar clothes.

Carina happily accepted the bear clothes and started to change into them.

“Are you really going to give them to me?” (Carina)

“Um, these are the clothes I’ve worn a few times.” (Fina)

“Thank you. I’ll treasure them.” (Carina)

Carina was happy.

Then, we all dressed up as bears and played with Swaying Bear-chan and Hugging Bear-chan.

While we were playing, a servant came and told us that Carina’s father, Balm-san, was calling for Carina.

At that moment, the maid was surprised to see us in bear themed clothes.

Carina said she would be back right away, and after changing back into her original clothes, she then hurried out of the room.

Seeing Carina leave the room, I talked to Fina and the others.

“Misa, Fina, I need to ask you something.” (Noa)

“What is it?” (Fina)

“I wonder if Carina likes Bears as well.” (Noa)

I understood that Carina seemed to like bears, but only a bit from our interaction.

I knew that she was good friends with Yuna-san, however, and she loved Yuna-san.

“So, how about inviting her to the Bear-san fan club?” (Noa)

“I think that’s a good idea, but Carina-chan doesn’t know about that Gate, right?” (Misa)

“Yes, but Yuna-chan hasn’t told her, probably because she doesn’t want the King or Ellelaura to know.” (Fina)

Fina, who had met Carina before, answered.

Yuna-san asked us to keep the fact that we were nobles a secret because she didn’t want mother to know that we were here.

“But Carina definitely loves Bear-san.” (Fina)

Not long ago, we’d decided that the new Bear-san fan club members would only be people who share Yuna-san’s secret.
