Vol. 2 Ch. 27
Despite having slept for several days without waking up, Josh didn’t seem particularly troubled, likely due to his natural stamina. He did feel a bit dizzy going down the stairs, just as Emma had warned him, but with her help, he managed to reach the dining table.
"Come on, eat up."
In the short time he’d been asleep, their mother had somehow made an enormous amount of food. There were thick pancakes stacked like a tower, grilled steak, a bowl full of boiled eggs, thick sandwiches stuffed with fillings, potato salad, bacon, and even whole grilled corn on the cob. The table was overflowing with food.
At first, Josh had just felt hungry, but the moment the smell of the food hit him, his appetite flared up intensely, and the world seemed to spin. Without hesitation, he sat down and began to eat as if ravenous. It was the first time Emma and their mother had seen him eat so quickly and so much. They exchanged surprised glances as Josh, completely absorbed in his meal, didn’t even notice them.
He ate so quickly that by the time he reached for the maple syrup beside his pancakes, he had already devoured nearly half of his food. Once he felt somewhat full, he began to slow down, feeling more like himself. When he looked up, all that food that had been so plentiful was gone.
"Ahh."
Letting out a satisfied sigh, Josh then returned to his usual eating pace, casually chewing through the remaining food. He was going to finish it all. Watching him, Emma suddenly felt envious. How could he eat so much and not gain weight? It wasn’t fair.
Emma pouted, but their mother, smiling endlessly, just looked at Josh fondly.
"Do you need anything else?"
What do you think?
