Kiss Me if You Can

Vol. 2 Ch. 13

As he closed the door behind him, the pheromones that had filled the room suddenly covered his entire body.

“… … gulp.”

He suddenly coughed, unable to breathe. After coughing repeatedly, he barely managed to catch his breath. Even so, the pheromones he had already inhaled were enough to make his head a mess. The pheromones that had been messing with him since the moment he entered the mansion felt like they had reached their limit. Josh closed his eyes, unable to take a deep breath or hold his breath.

Did he take the medicine?

Josh remembered that he had poured the medicine as soon as he entered the mansion. However, the pheromones of the extreme alpha that had greeted Rut were stronger than he had imagined. On top of that, because of the mark, Josh could not help but become even weaker. Even if he had taken the entire bottle, there would have been a limit to how long he could last. Josh felt like he was cornered.

Trying to wake up his hazy consciousness, he slowly looked around the room, forcing himself to think. Just like Chase’s mansion, the room was extremely bleak. Looking at the room, which consisted of nothing more than a tea table and a bed, Josh thought that this wasn’t necessarily a temporary residence. It was his original taste, but in this situation, no one would care about the interior.

“Cough, cough.”

He forced himself to walk, holding back the feeling that his knees were about to buckle. The bed covered with a thin canopy was empty.

He’s definitely in here.

Covering his nose and mouth with his forearm, Josh took as shallow breaths as possible and quickly scanned the room, only moving his eyes. It didn’t make sense that Chase wasn’t in this room, which was filled with the scent of pheromones.

Where is he? Where on earth is he?

He had to limit his movements in order to breathe as little as possible, so it took a considerable amount of effort to check the room. He held back his irritation and quickly moved his eyes. He turned around the bed and checked the wall, but it was empty. No matter how much he looked, he couldn’t feel any signs of human presence.

No way.

Unable to bear the ominous thought, Josh shouted.

“Chase!”

Josh’s voice faintly echoed in the empty room. Josh blinked for a moment, bewildered by the indescribable emptiness. His anxiety grew, and he finally took his arm off his nose and mouth and shouted.

“Chase, where are you? Answer me!”

At that moment, a faint voice was heard from behind him. Josh instinctively turned his body and looked toward the connected bathroom. He walked toward it without hesitation.

Haa, haa. Haa, haa.

Before he knew it, his breathing became rapid and his vision became blurry. If he couldn’t find him in the bathroom, he might not be able to hold out any longer. Josh forced himself to think about what he would do in that case.

What if he’s not here either.

Click.

When he opened the bathroom door and stepped inside, Josh felt cold sweat running down his back. For a moment, he realized that he had been unconscious with his eyes open.

Like this, thick, thick, heavy, painful.

Pheromones.

His mind was at its limit, recalling each word individually. The bathroom, which was as large as a bedroom, was filled with fragrance. Pheromones several times more concentrated than what he had ever smelled before rushed at him all at once.

And then, at the end of his dazed gaze, he saw him.

“… … Chase.”

Josh muttered softly, as if he was muttering. With each step, his legs felt heavy as if a giant weight had been added to his ankles. Between the desire to just sit down and rub his bottom and the longing to see Chase’s face, he walked like a machine.
