Journey to the West: Treasure Vase of the Great Dao

Chapter 686: 338

Chen Xiang furrowed his brow slightly; he always felt that something was off about the man before him, whether he spoke or acted, everything seemed a bit topsy-turvy, not quite normal. However, the strength transmitted from his wrist was not small at all, so Chen Xiang had to exert all his strength to suppress it.

At an impasse, Chen Xiang forcefully shook him off, causing the burly man to be involuntarily thrown into the air, and he took this excellent opportunity to rush the burly man, swinging Iron Fist.

Unexpectedly, the burly man, who had already lost his balance in the air, agilely twisted his body, dodging the lethal Iron Fist. Feeling the breeze of the punch brushing past, the sound of the fist hitting the air rang beside his ear.

The burly man's facial expression changed instantly; he was a tricky fellow, he concluded in a flash.

The two squared off again, and Chen Xiang revealed a slight smile, saying, "My name is Chen Xiang, and you are Sun Shier?"

"How did you know?" Sun Shier asked in surprise, a hint of fear also arising in his heart.

Cui Heming covered his face, saying, "Didn't you just introduce yourself?" This kind of bandit was almost unbelievable.

Only then did Sun Shier realize, remembering that he had just reported his name to them, but soon a proud smile appeared on his face, "That's right, I, your Grandpa Sun, do not change my name or sit under another surname, the great name Sun Shier."

"Why are you robbing my family's things?"

"What's yours, if I see it, it's mine, don't you try to cheat," Sun Shier said displeasedly.

At this moment, Cui Heming knew that this guy was simple-minded, knew nothing, and wasn't sent by someone secretly; the robbery was purely spontaneous.

Chen Xiang, standing beside, said, "Quit the jests, let me fight until I am happy before we talk."

Cui Heming could only clear the battlefield, knowing that news from Huaguo Mountain had been delayed in coming, and that Chen Xiang was in a foul mood and desperately needed an outlet, fighting might be the best method.

"Come fight!" Chen Xiang shouted excitedly.

Sun Shier, not to be outdone, patted his sturdy chest, saying, "A fight it is!"

Two figures met in the air; a huge surge of air instantaneously swept all around, both were barehanded, and as soon as they engaged, it was a test of strength.

One was tall, the other short; one burly, the other thin; seemingly a world apart, yet their strength was closely matched.

The muscles on both men bulged, veins stood out, clearly exerting their full strength. The ground beneath them cracked due to their power, and a vigorous aura surged out of them, forming a terrifying whirlwind that blew in all directions.

Cui Heming and the others bore the brunt, swept by the fierce wind, barely able to stand, and were forced to retreat. The house servants, initially planning to help, couldn't get close to the battlefield and could only watch.

Chen Xiang bellowed, the nameless technique activated, a tremendous force surged from within his body, instantly gaining a dominating advantage. The burly man hadn't anticipated Chen Xiang still had reserves left and was caught off guard.

In just the span of a breath, the burly man was thrown far away by Chen Xiang, breaking several towering trees before he finally stopped. Nevertheless, he quickly got up again, his eyes brimming with a desire to fight as he looked at Chen Xiang.

But this was exactly what Chen Xiang wanted, a punching bag delivered to his door—there was no reason not to take it. His fists flew continuously, an endless barrage of punches enveloped the burly man like a fierce storm, without a pause.

When had the burly man ever seen such a dense attack? He appeared overwhelmed for a moment, and soon many punches landed on his body, making a thudding sound.

The intense pain made him roar involuntarily, his voice squeaky, which, if heard from afar, might make one think someone was bullying a child.

However, Chen Xiang felt something was off; these muscles that looked very robust, why did they feel so odd when hit, not quite like hitting muscle but more like hitting cotton.

"Pus sack, fight me with all your might!" Chen Xiang shouted loudly, eager to vent his frustration.

The strong man seemed to be intimidated by Chen Xiang's presence, his face revealing a flicker of fear. He wondered if he should not stoop to the level of someone who seemed utterly mad.

Before he could think it through, Chen Xiang's ensuing attack interrupted his train of thought, as a barrage of fists descended upon him again. The strong man still had no good strategy to counter, as Chen Xiang adopted the overwhelming approach of overpowering him continuously once gaining an advantage.

Gradually, the strong man grew more exhausted, the number of hits he received from Chen Xiang increasing, the thumping noises as fists landed on muscles were relentless. Even the house servants watching from not far away showed pity on their faces; after all, an ordinary person receiving such blows would probably have been sent to meet Lord Yama in the Underworld by now.

The strong man seemed numb, going from initial fierce resistance to numbness in just a short span, clearly showing that Chen Xiang's assault had completely shattered his confidence.

With a loud bang, the strong man in front of him suddenly burst open, smoke swirling around the area, stunning the onlookers. Even Chen Xiang withdrew his fist in astonishment, as the strong man had genuinely exploded.

"Exploded?" The old retainer murmured to himself, rubbing his eyes in disbelief that such a thing could indeed exist in this world.

"Wait, where's the blood?" Cui Heming quickly noticed something amiss; there was not a single trace of blood where the strong man had exploded.

When the smoke finally cleared, a small, cute monkey with golden fur and innocent, sparkly eyes appeared, endearing enough that many house servants couldn't resist the urge to stroke it.

"Where did this monkey come from?" Cui Heming exclaimed in surprise, suspecting the strong man had escaped.

So he hurriedly sent people to look for the strong man's whereabouts. Considering the opponent had now become an enemy, it was crucial to eliminate him while Chen Xiang was still around, or else the Cui family faced potential disaster once Chen Xiang left.

Unexpectedly, Chen Xiang called everyone back saying, "No need to look, he hasn't left."

"He hasn't left? Where is he then?" Cui Heming suddenly became nervous, his gaze sweeping around, wondering if the strong man, like that Demon, possessed the Technique of Invisibility.

Only to see Chen Xiang gently pointing at the small monkey and saying, "Look, isn't this him!"

"Him? Don't be joking, this is just a little monkey," Cui Heming said dismissively.

The little monkey cooperatively showed a naive and innocent smile as if trying its best to prove itself to be a harmless little monkey.

Chen Xiang, however, spoke coldly, "Stop acting, your scent can't fool me. A monster like you should be burnt to death."

"You dare, my Great King will not let you off!" the little monkey retorted in a babyish voice, unable to hold back any longer.

"Your Great King? You think we would be afraid? For a tiny little monkey demon to be so brazenly boastful," Cui Heming scoffed.

"My Great King is the Monkey King, possessing Divine Skills, capable of reaching the heavens and diving into the earth. If you harm me, my Great King will descend from the sky and smash your head into pieces," the little monkey threatened.

"The Monkey King? Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Sun Wukong?" As an avid fan of the Journey to the West, Cui Heming instantly recognized the name.

Delighted by his recognition, the little monkey exclaimed, "You know the name of my Great King, then you'd better release me quickly, or my Great King will make you regret it."

But Cui Heming sneered, "Well, a monkey demon daring to impersonate a follower of the Great Sage. I heard that the Great Sage, upon returning from his quest, obtained a Golden Body and would never allow you monkeys and monkey descendants to cause trouble in the human realm. You must be an imposter."

"Nonsense, I am a genuine citizen of Huaguo Mountain, do not slander me," the little monkey suddenly became agitated, jumping up as it spoke.
