Chapter 407: Half Human, Half God
The Wood Dragon Aldoron had five avatars, known as the Five God Seeds.
The God Seed Aldoron acted as the "brain." After a brief but decisive battle, it became clear to him—this human was not an opponent he could defeat.
He had never encountered such a powerful human.
No, he had met one—four hundred years ago. The Dragon Slayer who had become the Black Dragon. That being was similarly overwhelming.
However, Acnologia used Dragon Slayer Magic, transforming into the Black Dragon to attain such crushing power.
This human, on the other hand, wielded various magical techniques, each more peculiar than the last—an enigma even dragons struggled to comprehend.
"Dragon Taming Technique."
At that moment, Nate placed his hand on the head of the God Seed Aldoron, activating the ultimate countermeasure against dragons—Dragon Taming.
Black chains materialized, wrapping tightly around Aldoron's neck.
It’s happening again!
Yet another unheard-of magic!
The God Seed Aldoron sensed a deadly threat.
“Damn it!”
He cursed under his breath as his body began to disassemble.
Composed entirely of countless withered branches, his form collapsed into individual pieces to avoid being sealed by the binding magic.
The branches burrowed underground and vanished within moments.
“Ran away?”
Nate stood upright, using his Six Eyes to track the God Seed’s escape route.
As he pondered, he activated telepathy to contact the rest of his team.
Nate: "How’s it going on your ends?"
…
Meanwhile, the God Seed Aldoron retreated into the massive body of the Wood Dragon.
Within a seemingly sealed-off space, surrounded by countless withered branches, the God Seed Aldoron cradled his face, his expression grim.
"That human is too powerful. This avatar alone is no match."
He had never encountered such a force.
No—four hundred years ago, there had been one. The Dragon Slayer Acnologia, who had transformed into a dragon, was similarly unassailable.
But Acnologia used Dragon Slayer Magic. This human, however, wielded something else entirely—magic that defied comprehension.
"If that’s the case... everyone, return!"
He activated telepathy, summoning the other four God Seeds.
In the cities of Dragonback, Left Palm, Left Shoulder, and Right Shoulder, the remaining God Seeds received the order from their “brain.” One by one, they abandoned their battles and disappeared into the ground.
"Hey, trying to run away?"
Dimaria stood with one hand on her hip. “You think you can escape from me so easily?”
Age Seal!
In an instant, the area within a few hundred meters of Dimaria froze in time.
The God Seeds attempting to flee underground became immobilized, unable to move.
Dimaria smirked and snapped her fingers.
"You must be avatars connected to the main body, right? Wouldn’t it be fun if I targeted all of you at once?"
Age Scratch!
As a descendant of Chronos, the God of Time, Dimaria excelled in time magic.
Age Scratch inflicted all the pain and injuries the target had suffered in the past, forcing them to endure it all at once.
Her magic spread through the connection between the God Seeds, ensuring all four felt the effects equally.
For a moment, the three Seeds retreating to regroup with the “brain” screamed in agony.
Even the God Seed Aldoron, hiding within the Wood Dragon’s body, experienced the full brunt of the Age Scratch's power.
The pain from past injuries—especially those inflicted by Acnologia four hundred years ago—was fully unleashed upon him.
“AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!”
The God Seed Aldoron screamed, dropping to one knee in excruciating pain.
“What is this power now!?”
Suddenly, a white figure materialized before him, photons gathering to form a human shape.
Nate had given chase.
“Looks like your other avatars aren’t doing so well either.”
The other members of his team were holding their ground, but Nate knew Wendy and Carla might struggle. He had to quickly deal with the "brain."
Nate raised two fingers, his middle finger crossed over his index.
"Domain Expansion."
A shadow spread from under his feet, swiftly engulfing the God Seed Aldoron in a pitch-black spherical space.
Still writhing from the effects of the Age Scratch, Aldoron was unable to escape. Only after being fully sealed did he realize the severity of his situation.
“W-wait! Human!”
He pleaded hastily, "I understand! I won’t devour humans anymore! You’ve won this time!"
Nate had no interest in hearing excuses. He reactivated Dragon Taming.
Nine black chains shot toward Aldoron, binding his hands, feet, body, and neck. In moments, the God Seed Aldoron was restrained.
Once his body was subdued, his consciousness became the next target.
The God Seed Aldoron’s face twisted in horror as he felt an overwhelming force invading his mind, demanding submission.
"Submit to a human?!" he roared in defiance. "Humans are nothing! We dragons stand at the pinnacle of existence!"
His will to resist was incredibly strong.
Nate raised an eyebrow as Aldoron’s body began to emit a powerful green glow.
Self-destruction?
Realizing this, Nate made no move to stop it.
BOOM!!!
A massive explosion erupted from the Wood Dragon’s back, creating a deep crater. Beams of green light shot out from within, obliterating the city on its back in an instant.
…
Above the scene, the Magic Council’s airship fleet observed from afar.
On the command ship, a mage exclaimed in shock:
“Aldoron’s energy is dropping! What was that explosion?”
The 23rd Division Commander, Robert, wore a grim expression.
“Was that... Aldoron? Unbelievable. Could it be... that man won?”
“Who was that white-clad mage just now?”
“A White Mage?”
“We don’t know...”
“He’s a hero. He saved this world!”
…
Fifth World, Black Moon Mountain
The Moon Dragon sat by the windowsill, sipping wine while browsing the magic internet.
Suddenly, her expression shifted.
"Aldoron... has fallen?"
She chuckled softly. "The age of dragons ended long ago. I was hoping you'd put up a fight, but what a disappointment."
…
Somewhere near a volcano
A young man crouched beside a pool of magma, scooping up molten lava with his hands and drinking it as if it were water.
Suddenly, he paused, raising his head to look toward the eastern horizon.
In his senses, a powerful magical presence was fading away.
"First, it was Mercphobia two days ago. Now Aldoron."
"Am I next?"
The youth grinned, his expression wild. In a flash, he transformed into a massive flaming dragon, his wings spreading wide as he took off into the sky.
…
At the Magia Dragon Guild
Igneel, the Water Dragon God, his assistant Karameel, and Elefseria, the Magia Dragon Guild Master, sat together playing cards.
Suddenly, the Water Dragon God's expression grew heavy.
"What's wrong? It's your turn," Elefseria said with a cheerful smile.
"Aldoron is dead," Merckphobia sighed.
"Fire Dragon King, what exactly is Nate? How does a human possess such power?"
The power he referred to was the power of faith.
Igneel scratched his chin, studying his cards with a half-smile, half-frown.
"Nate, huh?"
Nothing about Nate surprised him anymore. After witnessing the Gate of Truth, Igneel had already sensed something extraordinary.
"He's on the path to godhood. At this point, you could call him a demigod," Igneel said with a laugh. "If you knew he had created an artificial god, you wouldn’t be surprised at all."
"Half-human, half-god?"
The Water Dragon God fell into deep thought.
What do you think?
