Chapter 445: The Heroes Who Saved the World
Chapter 445 - 445: The Heroes Who Saved the World
The Frankenstein who fought while dragging along his father's corpse ultimately couldn't win against Qin Ming and his two dog friends.
After a brief three-on-one scuffle, he quickly dropped dead.
As the hulking body of the Frankenstein collapsed with a loud crash, the stitches holding him together split apart, and he fell apart on the spot.
Qin Ming bent down to pick up the key and let out a long breath.
The bosses in this world really were something else—on a whole different level compared to bosses from other worlds.
Just this Frankenstein alone would've been enough to serve as a final boss in a typical world.
But now that he was dead, what about Qin Ming's original target? That vampire count named Dracula?
Damn these humanoid bats! Why is it that every count has to be named Dracula?
It's like vampires don't even have other names anymore!
Qin Ming turned and began searching around the hospital for any sign of the enemy, but he found no trace. Instead, a loud crash rang in his ears.
It turned out Zhao Honghua, who had been thrown earlier, had finally managed to catch up on foot.
Panting heavily and drenched in sweat, she kicked open a door and leaned against the frame, gasping for breath.
Seeing her appear, Qin Ming frowned and instinctively tightened his grip on the demonic blade in his hand.
He opened his mouth, about to speak, but Zhao Honghua beat him to it.
Still bent over with her hands on her knees, she raised one hand and waved it emphatically while wheezing.
"Calm down, fellow cultivator! I admit I was at fault earlier! I apologize! But you're back now, and we're even, okay?!"
Qin Ming's brow furrowed deeper at her words, and he drew the demonic blade with a scowl.
"You're kidding! You think you can just call it even like—"
"Huaxia doesn't fight Huaxia!"
"This won't happen again!"
Meeting a true Huaxia female protagonist in the arcade world was incredibly rare.
Part of the reason Qin Ming didn't go all-out against Zhao Honghua before was exactly because of that—her identity was extremely unique.
Now, hearing her say those words, Qin Ming hesitated for a second, then silently put away his weapon.
Seeing this, Zhao Honghua's face lit up with a smile. The next second, she stood upright, cupped her fists, and spoke solemnly.
"Zhao Honghua, demon-subduing Taoist, adopted daughter and final disciple of the current head of Mount Longhu! Greetings, fellow cultivator!"
As Zhao Honghua made the first move to greet him, Qin Ming kept his face straight but returned the gesture with a fist salute.
"Qin Ming, commander of the Hound Legion, three-star major general of the Ministry of National Defense, King of the Grass Fork Empire, Chosen One, Saint King of Kings. Greetings, fellow cultivator."
"Huh?!"
Zhao Honghua froze upon hearing that long string of titles. She couldn't make heads or tails of what kind of mess that even was.
Qin Ming lowered his arms, clearly not in the mood to explain. If not for the fact that Zhao Honghua was half an ally, he'd have grabbed her by the leg already to help stretch her ligaments.
Sensing that Qin Ming didn't think much of her, Zhao Honghua lowered her arms as well and took the initiative to speak again.
"Fellow cultivator, are you with the resistance?"
"No, I'm with the villains—just not the same faction as this bunch."
"It doesn't matter who you are, fellow cultivator, as long as you're human. Right now, we're facing a grave crisis—humanity stands at the edge of extinction. Fellow cultivator, would you consider joining forces with me?"
As she spoke, Zhao Honghua extended her hand toward Qin Ming with a solemn expression.
"Count Dracula is the local dark overlord. He's been gathering evil creatures to launch attacks on nearby survivor bases, and it seems he's also plotting something sinister. Fellow cultivator, shall we take him down together?"
Qin Ming was stunned for a moment. He lowered his gaze to Zhao Honghua's outstretched hand, lost in thought.
As one of the three main protagonists and an incredibly powerful Eastern heroine, Zhao Honghua was definitely not the kind of person to easily ask others to team up with her—much less take the initiative to invite someone.
Clearly, she was still under the influence of Qin Ming's title effects. Otherwise, there was no way her favorability would be this high.
Come to think of it, teaming up with her might actually be a good thing. The bosses in this world were way too strong—even Qin Ming couldn't be sure he could solo all of them.
A free powerhouse just walked through the door. Why say no?
Reaching out to shake her hand, Qin Ming slowly smiled.
"Then I'll look forward to working with you, fellow cultivator."
Staring at Qin Ming's ferocious grin and his bear-paw-sized hand...
Zhao Honghua's lips twitched slightly as her entire hand disappeared in his grip.
She wasn't even sure why she'd invited this guy in the first place—maybe it was his strength?
But who cared? In times like this, who gave a damn where someone came from? Even if you were a wanted criminal or a full-blown terrorist, as long as you were human, Zhao Honghua would dare put you to use!
People were nearly extinct! If you've got someone to use, that's already a win! What's there to be picky about?!
The newly formed duo quickly mounted their dinosaur and set off into the distance, heading straight for the vampire count's castle.
It was Zhao Honghua's first time riding a dinosaur, and she was visibly excited and curious, touching and examining everything around her.
Despite her curiosity, she didn't let down her guard. In fact, she even slapped a Taoist speed charm onto the triceratops. The creature, already insanely fast, picked up even more speed in an instant.
With a thunderous rumble, the group tore through the monster-infested ruins of the city and soon arrived at a castle on the outskirts.
This castle was none other than Dracula's lair.
Qin Ming couldn't understand why vampires insisted on living in castles—especially ones out in the middle of nowhere.
There were so many people in the city, practically a human buffet, and yet they insisted on squatting in some remote place, just waiting for people to come to them.
But who the hell would wander into an abandoned castle in the wilderness for no reason—unless they were clearly not normal? No wonder they always ended up getting counter-killed!
Oh, and let's not forget—they even slept in coffins! That was just peak bad vibes!
Utterly baffled by the strange logic of vampires, Qin Ming sighed as he stared at the gloomy, stereotype-filled gothic castle in front of him.
A moment later, he urged the dinosaur forward, leading the group toward the castle gates.
Meanwhile! Inside the castle! A battle was already underway!
And the one fighting was none other than Count Dracula himself—locked in combat with his arch-nemesis, Christoph Smith, the legendary vampire hunter!
A profession with high risk and almost no reward—one wrong move and your entire family could get dragged into it!
Smith, who bore the blood feud of a murdered husband against Dracula, had completely snapped.
Although known as an ancient vampire hunter, his combat style was anything but ancient—on the contrary, it was cutting-edge.
In a previous battle, both his arms had been severed by Dracula! But now, he had replaced them with a pair of high-tech arms capable of firing electricity! The sheer force was incredible!
What should've been a classic vampire revenge tale had now turned, thanks to his cybernetic arms, into a ridiculous sci-fi clash of cyber-warrior versus ancient evil!
