Chapter 768: Tour of the East (II)

Chen Wentian and his disciples arrived at the edge of the central region of the Great Smoky Mountains. The sunny sky was obscured by a thick layer of smoke and ash which would occasionally be illuminated by bursts of fire and plumes of lava from nearby volcanos. This was the first stop on their tour of the east.

“Miss Jasmine, Master Chen, welcome to the Great Smoky Mountains.” Huo Tu said respectfully with his head lowered.

“Welcome, Miss Jasmine, Master Chen!” Huo Ping and Huo Yan, the two Spirit Lord toads, chimed in.

“Good, these are my good sisters,” Jasmine said, pointing to the huddle of women behind Chen Wentian, “You will have to listen to them just as you listen to me because they are my sisters, understand?”

Huo Tu wanted to cry. A venerable Spirit King beast had to take orders from a bunch of mortal humans, it would be a joke if outsiders heard of it. However, since Jasmine had said so, there was no other way around it.

The fiery toad bowed again, “Yes, Miss Jasmine. This one obeys.”

“Come, sisters.” Jasmine beckoned, “Greet my underlings so that they will remember your appearance and aura.”

The ice sisters looked at each other and walked up to Chen Wentian. He wrapped them together in his aura and flew into the air. Huo Tu did so as well and led the way into the fiery region.

“Oh? Huo Tu, did you get a little stronger?” Chen Wentian asked.

“Yes, Master Chen. It is all thanks to Miss Jasmine. Reestablishing the bond with her and receiving her blessing has finally allowed my cultivation to advance after hundreds of years. They flew by multiple lava pools of different colors. Some were bright red while others were orange or yellow like the sun. Chen Wentian examined each of the four pools and nodded in satisfaction, “Yuechan, Wushuang, Lanyi, Xue’er, Yue’er… these pools will be useful for your cultivation. “The third pool is at the second lesser realm of Spiritual Formation and the last pool is for the third lesser realm of Spiritual Awakening. Any higher and we’ll have to move to a different location but not by far.”

“Thank you, master, but how do we use these pools?” Li Yuechan asked.

Chen Wentian grinned, “I’m glad you asked! Come, let's go into the house first. Huo Tu, you can leave.”

“Yes, Master Chen.”

The interior of the house was simple. There was nothing but bare rock. However, it was cool inside, completely different from its surroundings.

“Huo Tu’s spiritual energy protects this house so you all can stay inside here and rest when not cultivating.” Chen Wentian waved his hand and brought out five sets of beds as well as wooden chests. “As for how to use the pools, the concept is simple. Simply stay inside them until you can’t bear it anymore.
