I’m Really a Villain

Chapter 1245: Inside Yueyang Tower, Young Master of the Wang Family

The assassins of Yueyang Tower are renowned throughout the Ghost God Realm.

Among the ten techniques of assassins, Yueyang Tower claims seven.

Historically, Yueyang Tower's most brilliant achievement was deploying three Emperor-level assassins to successfully assassinate a Great Saint.

One of the three assassins targeted the Great Saint, while the other two took down his Life and Death Soul.

The mission was ultimately successful, cementing Yueyang Tower's reputation worldwide and shaking the Ghost Gods themselves.

From that point on, Yueyang Tower flourished, recruiting and training assassins from all corners of the world. Many influential figures would spend exorbitant sums to hire assassins for covert protection.

Today, every assassin roaming the world is unmistakably connected to Yueyang Tower.

In this King's City, although the Wang Family is the ultimate dominator, Yueyang Tower's branch here is beyond their control.

This is likely why Lv Clan chose to reside here.

When Xu Zimei arrived at Yueyang Tower, he looked up—though the building wasn't tall, it boasted about a dozen floors.

Each floor, however, was ornately decorated, radiating a strong vintage aesthetic.

The green bricks carved with dragons in flight and phoenixes in dance; tendrils of moss and willow vines intertwined, as if embodying the nostalgic departure of old friends. The statues seemed to glance back with yearning.

From afar, the entire Yueyang Tower exuded an ancient magnificence, as if emerging from sighs of ancient dust, evoking a unique, poignant atmosphere.

One Yueyang Tower inspires three hundred verses of poetry.

Upon entering the first floor, despite being the ground level, the environment was elegant, with little noise to disturb the serenity.

The Lv Clan had their own private room, but Xu Zimei didn't bother pursuing them intentionally.

He chose a seat by the window on the first floor, next to a lit incense burner emanating a serene, pleasing aroma with a distinct fragrance.

The entirety of Yueyang Tower was staffed by women—even the owner was a long-haired lady.

Each table was adorned with thick menus, while cheongsam-clad maids stood nearby, smiling warmly.

"Bring me a few of your most classic dishes from Yueyang Tower, and heat a flask of fine wine," Xu Zimei said directly, not bothering to glance at the menu.

"Please wait for a moment, young master," the maid withdrew and promptly descended the stairs.

Yueyang Tower proved its reputation as one of the most famous taverns in the Ghost God Realm—within minutes, the food and wine were ready.

The aroma was irresistible.

Xu Zimei tasted a morsel; purely judging by its flavor, it easily ranked among the top three dishes he had ever eaten.

Just as Xu Zimei was dining, another figure stepped in from outside Yueyang Tower.

A tall man with a lean physique, wearing a bamboo hat and carrying a wide, large blade on his back.

He walked with an imposing gait—like a tiger leaping and a dragon soaring—before sitting at a table beside Xu Zimei.

"Bring me your strongest wine," the bamboo-hat man said hoarsely without removing the hat after sitting down.

It was evident he was weary, even his voice carried the weight of exhaustion.

"Would the young master like some dishes to go with the wine?" the maid reminded, "The strongest wine we have is such that there are scarcely any who can drink without succumbing to intoxication."

"No need for food, just the wine—drunkenness erases the fear of death," the man replied, seemingly mocking himself with his cryptic remark.

The maid nodded slightly without further comment, turned, and promptly returned with the requested wine.

The wine jar arrived, adorned with a red label boldly declaring "Drunken World" in three written characters.

The jar had evidently aged considerably; its surface showed signs of rust, as if it had been stored for an unknown length of time.

The bamboo-hat man saw the red label and was seemingly stirred by some memory. Under his invisible aura, the label suddenly ripped apart.

The maid jumped in fright.

"Apologies, it wasn't aimed at you," the bamboo-hat man said.

He then gripped the jar and began gulping down the wine in large swigs. The fiery liquor burned deeply, flowing warmly down his neck.

......…

"Young Master, it's not appropriate for you to see Miss Nan Yi now. Your engagement ceremony is the day after tomorrow!"

"Get lost! Must I wait for a scheduled time to see my own fiancée?

I will see her whenever I please!"

A commotion sounded from outside, abruptly shattering Yueyang Tower's long-held tranquility.

A group of people entered, with one youth at its center, revered like a prince amid stars.

His complexion was pale—not mere whiteness, but a sickly pallor, akin to a body drained of vitality.

His steps were light, unsteady.

He wore a robe of garish, multicolored silk that looked utterly flamboyant.

His hair, bound at the back of his head, emphasized the puffiness of his prominent eye bags above mono-lidded eyes. He entered noisily, causing a commotion all along the way.

"Where is the shopkeeper of Yueyang Tower?" he shouted upon entry.

"Young Master, don't speak recklessly. The shopkeeper of Yueyang Tower is an equal to your father," one companion nearby quickly cautioned.

"No problem, no problem. We're not here for the shopkeeper. Do you know where the Lv Clan from Lv City is staying?"

Despite the youth's outburst, the maid—experienced and composed—maintained a calm demeanor and a professional smile.

She replied, "The Lv Clan resides in a private room on the second floor."

"Come, let's go and see my fiancée," the youth said with a loud laugh.

"I've heard she's a beauty rarely seen in a thousand years."

"Indeed. Not only is Lv Nanyi said to be as beautiful as an immortal, her aptitude is equally celestial.

The Wang Family Head must've paired her with Young Master precisely with the intention of grooming the next Family Head," one in the group flattered.

In truth, everyone knew well that Wang Shi was nothing but a wastrel.

But pleasantries still needed to be said.

Evidently, Wang Shi took pride in these words.

Laughing heartily, he said, "Don't worry. Stick with me, and you can expect no shortage of benefits in the future."

The group expressed their agreement enthusiastically, and Wang Shi, boasting, began heading toward the second floor.

The maid at the side politely reminded, "If the young master is here for dining, then of course you're welcome.

But without Lv Clan's consent, you are not allowed to enter their private rooms."

"Why?" Wang Shi stopped, frowning as he asked.

"This is the rule of Yueyang Tower," the maid replied with a smile.

"What kind of ridiculous rule is that?" Wang Shi remarked dismissively.

"Do you even know who I am?"

"The identity of the guest is irrelevant. The rules of Yueyang Tower remain as such. I ask the young master to mind his words," the maid replied with dignity and poise.

Wang Shi's expression grew more restrained; though he was accustomed to arrogance and leveraging the Wang Family's influence to make others accommodate him, in Yueyang Tower, he lacked the boldness to act rashly.

"You—go up and inform Lv Clan that Wang Shi has arrived. Tell them to come out and greet me," Wang Shi directed casually to one of his companions.

As that person ascended the stairs, the bamboo-hat man previously seated beside Xu Zimei slowly stood up.

Setting down his wine—Drunken World—he walked step by step toward the door.

His figure swayed slightly, caught between drunkenness and wakefulness. It was clear that the maid wasn't lying—the potency of the wine was indeed no joke.

As the bamboo-hat man passed Wang Shi's group, an unsteady step caused him to bump into one of the men nearby.

"Drunken fool, do you have a death wish?" The man flew into a rage, kicking the bamboo-hat man to the ground.

"I apologize, young master. It wasn't intentional," the bamboo-hat man quickly offered his apologies.
