I Was Summoned as the Academy’s Janitor… But I Accidentally Became the Most Overpowered Harem Protagonist?!

Chapter 4: The Student Council President Thinks I’m a Threat to the School (Just Because I Beat a Dragon With a Banana)

‎“Subject 004. Janitor. Suspected combat ability: ???. Mental state: suspiciously calm. Threat level: re-evaluate.”

‎‎A girl in crisp academy uniform stood by a glowing magic monitor, her arms crossed. Her violet eyes glowed faintly with detection magic. Behind her, multiple glowing screens replayed clips of the previous duel.

‎Banana. Slip. Boom.

‎“…This doesn’t make sense,” she muttered. “Even dragons don’t trip that easily.”

‎Her name was Selena Frostveil — Student Council President, top of all written exams, dual caster of ice and psychic magic, and the only person who actually read the academy’s entire rulebook voluntarily.

‎‎She did not like unexplained variables.

‎‎Especially not ones with absurdly perfect faces and relaxed shoulders who walked around sweeping hallways like they owned the place.

Meanwhile, in the Library…

‎‎Zephyr was fixing a jammed bookshelf. He had dismantled the enchanted sliding rail and was halfway through repairing it with basic enchantment chalk and a screwdriver.

‎ “Let’s see… if I just redirect the mana line here—”

‎BANG!

‎‎The door slammed open.

‎A gust of wind blew his papers everywhere.

‎‎Selena Frostveil entered, hair shining like frost under sunlight, cape billowing dramatically even though there was no wind inside.

‎“…You.”

‎‎Zephyr blinked. “Can I help you?”

‎‎“I am here to conduct an official investigation.”

‎“…Into books?”

‎‎“Into you.”

‎‎Zephyr sighed.

‎“Ma’am, I’m just a janitor.”

‎“That’s what worries me.”

10 Minutes Later…

‎Selena had Zephyr seated across from her at a conjured table in the middle of the library.

‎She was already taking notes.

‎“Name?”

‎“Zephyr.”

‎‎“Occupation?”

‎‎“…Janitor.”

‎‎“Magic class?”

‎‎“None registered.”

‎“Combat experience?”

‎‎“Do household pests count?”

‎‎She squinted. “Is it true you defeated Drakynia Flameheart in a duel?”

‎‎“She slipped.”

‎“…On your weapon of choice?”

‎‎“…A banana peel.”

‎She stared at him like he was the final boss of a strategy game with no known counters.

‎And Then It Happened.

‎‎A stack of books teetered behind her — about to fall.

‎Zephyr casually reached over and caught them with one hand while sipping his tea.

‎Didn’t even look.

‎Didn’t even stop talking.

‎Selena’s pen froze.

 “…How elegant. Effortless. Dangerous.”

‎‎He stood, handed her a book, and gave the most disarming smile he didn’t know he had.

‎‎“Here. Be careful with the corners.”

‎‎Selena’s ears turned red.

‎ “I… I must continue observing you. Closely. Daily. Up close.”

‎‎Zephyr blinked. “Wait what—?”

‎“For the safety of the academy.”

‎She adjusted her glasses with shaky fingers.

‎“…And possibly... other reasons.”

‎Elsewhere…

‎‎In a bush nearby, Drakynia and Arwen were spying.

‎“Another one falls,” Arwen whispered grimly.

‎“We must act quickly,” Drakynia hissed. “Before the ice queen locks him down.”

‎‎“…Are we… forming a war alliance?” Arwen asked.

‎“…Temporary. Until he chooses.”

The wind rustled.

The war of affection had officially begun.

‎End of Chapter 4.

‎What’s next:

‎Chapter 5: A transfer student claims Zephyr is the Hero of Prophecy, throwing everything into chaos.

‎More girls begin to get involved (some against their will).

‎Zephyr just wants to nap, but now he’s on a wanted poster.
