Kalibak is Darkseid's eldest son, but the dark lord does not favor him, even forbidding him to call himself his son, having once killed him briefly for attacking his brother without Darkseid's permission.

He has always wanted to achieve something to earn Darkseid's favor.

And the Codex, containing the genes of billions of Kryptonians, placed within the last Kryptonian!"

The Mother Box also has the ability to transform the environment of a planet, but it's more about destruction than transformation, making the planet so hostile that only Apokoliptian bio-weapons can survive freely.

This allows for the fastest conquest but wastes the potential for war that could have been added after conquering the world.

"My father, hasn't he always wanted an army of Kryptonians at his command?"

Kalibak's rough voice carried a note of excitement.

"I will take this planet and fulfill his wish!"

The power held by Krypton at its peak was feared by all, even Darkseid himself. If he could have an army of Kryptonians to command without thought or fear, like bio-weapons, conquering the universe would be as easy as flipping his hand.

"Kryptonians?

DeSaad's face changed, turning to the other side of the trio, where the New God Mantis stood with his arms crossed, his eyes cold and cruel, silent as if he were some non-human creature, or a deadly reaper, with life in front of him only awaiting harvest.

"So you brought the mightiest warrior of his majesty to help you defeat the Kryptonians?"

Mantis is an energy vampire, feeding on energy, possessing immense power to absorb and manipulate energy, usually hibernating in a charging pod and rarely venturing out, not typically part of Apokolips' standing forces.

"Where his majesty's gaze falls, there lies my glory," he said coldly.

"On this planet, besides Kryptonians, there are other unknown life forms, but that doesn't matter!"

Kalibak's expression was fierce as he clenched his fist, like a beast forced to drink blood.

"Any enemy that stands in my way will be torn to shreds!"

DeSaad nodded, turning again to Steppenwolf, his voice cold.

"Mighty Steppenwolf, you could have served by our great lord's side like us, but you betrayed him, you betrayed your family."

Steppenwolf, the original ruler of Apokolips, was the father of Darkseid, Yuga Khan, and Steppenwolf was the brother of Yuga Khan's wife, Heggra, making him Darkseid's uncle.

"I acknowledge my mistake, but I also eliminated those who coveted his throne," Steppenwolf said gravely.
