Chapter 408: Amber's New Body
As Jake caught her in his arms, he felt her body coated in a layer of transparent, slimy fluid. It felt unsettling against his skin, but he held her close nonetheless. Her warmth resembled that of a living human, and her features were nothing but flawless. Just like the body Edgar had described.
Upon closer inspection, Jake noticed small, scattered patches of reddish skin across her body— they were faint but noticeable. Luckily, they were in places that could be easily covered with clothings. Activating Gyo, Jake also sensed a familiar aura emanating from her—eerily similar to the one he had felt from the Asura King. But this time, it was subdued… and controlled.
'She really is a hybrid, just like Edgar said,' Jake thought, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Amber, wake up," he said softly, sensing her breath quicken and her body twitch slightly in his arms.
Slowly, her eyelids fluttered open. Blinking several times, she wiped the fluid off her face with one hand before meeting Jake's gaze.
"I'm fine… I want to stand," Amber muttered.
Jake gently placed her on her feet, keeping close in case she lost balance. She rose smoothly, standing beside him with a natural ease.
And that's when Jake noticed—she was tall. Surprisingly tall. Almost as tall as Zamira… maybe the exact same height.
'Her breasts are around the E-cup… perky, firm, untouched. And even her pubic hair is golden, just like her lashes and brows…' Jake observed, thoroughly inspecting every inch of her with a subtle gaze.
Suddenly, Amber waved her fingers in front of his face, snapping him out of his daze.
"Why don't you stop staring at my tits and check on Misty instead?" she said dryly, a smirk tugging at her lips.
That snapped everyone else out of their trance too—each of them had unknowingly gotten lost in the surreal scene before them. In a flash, they all rushed to Misty, their attention shifting with concern.
Jake reached her first, gently tapping her cheek. She was still breathing but her consciousness hadn't returned fully. Jake instinctively wanted to push some aura into her, but just as he raised his hand, her eyelids began to twitch.
Misty bolted upright on the massage bed, her eyes locking immediately onto Amber—now standing with that bright, unmistakable grin.
Her mouth parted in disbelief.
"Amber!" Misty cried, scrambling to her feet. She rushed toward her and wrapped her in a tight hug, completely ignoring the slimy fluid still clinging to Amber's skin.
Tears streamed freely down Misty's cheeks.
"I was so scared… When you left and I couldn't take back control of my body, it felt like I was trapped in a void. I thought I lost you. I… I'm just glad you're back—even though it won't be the same. I won't have someone inside my head to argue with anymore," she said, half-laughing, half-sobbing into Amber's shoulder.
Amber held her tightly. "It's okay, Misty. I'll miss watching everything from inside, but having a body of my own has always been my dream. I just didn't want to become a burden to you."
They parted, and Amber turned toward Jake. Her eyes shimmered, almost tearing up.
"I don't even know how to thank you, but—"
She stepped forward to hug him, but just as she moved in, Jill quickly blocked her path, stepping between them.
Facing Jake with a sharp glare, Jill folded her arms. "Amber isn't your mistress—or your wife. Don't you think it's a bit inappropriate to ogle at her naked body and act like it's nothing? What do you think, ladies?" she added, casting a glance toward the others.
All the women smirked in unison. Without hesitation, they surrounded Jake, draping a towel over Amber's body while pushing him back. He resisted, refusing to budge, but their teamwork was too much.
Amber giggled at the sight. The way Jake whined and squirmed was kind of cute.
'Is this what it feels like to have my own body after thousands of years? What even are these emotions I'm feeling?'
With combined effort—some muscle, some abilities—they dragged Jake to the doorway.
"Blair, you too?" Jake groaned, stumbling as they shoved him toward the hallway. "I thought you'd have my back!"
Blair gave him a big toothy grin. "Sorry, but I can't defend you on this one. You were absolutely ogling at her. Now excuse us—we need some girl time."
With that, she shut the door in his face and locked it from the inside.
Staring at the closed door, Jake chuckled and shook his head before walking away.

Several hours later, Amber had been dressed and brought to the dining room. Breakfast was already prepared by the estate chefs, and the rich aroma of fresh dishes filled the air.
Amber moved a little awkwardly, still unfamiliar with the feel of her new body. It wasn't like possessing Misty's body—or even like her original one that had long since been destroyed. This felt... different. Like being handed a cutting-edge machine without instructions.
Everyone was already seated at the long, ornate dining table, dishes arranged with regal precision. It was the kind of layout reserved for nobles—or kings.
"You seem to be having trouble controlling your body," Jake commented, noticing Amber almost pressed a piece of toast to her nose instead of her mouth. "Don't worry. You'll get used to it."
"I'm just trying not to break anything," Amber replied, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Human bodies are fickle... I need to train this one first."
"It's not a normal human body," Jake explained, casually picking up a knife. "It's seventy percent Asura clone and thirty percent human. You'll be able to blend in without catching the attention of the gods. Imagine walking around in a full Asura body—that'd cause a panic."
Before anyone could question him, Jake brought the knife down and stabbed her hand.
The blade snapped in two the moment it touched her skin.
Amber's eyes widened. "Wow..."
Everyone else, however, wasn't focused on the display of strength.
"Did you just say gods?" Misty asked, her voice low. "You gave her a hybrid body that might make her a target again? Did you forget her Valkyrie clan was wiped out by those very gods?"
The tension in the room thickened as the other women exchanged uneasy glances.
"I've fought two gods before," Blair muttered, frowning. "They were the weaker ones… and still incredibly powerful. I can't imagine what the stronger ones are like."
Seeing the concern growing, Jake raised a hand.
"The gods aren't after Asuras in general," he said calmly. "They hunted the Asura King, the one responsible for provoking them for centuries. As part of a deal with Edgar Frost, I killed that king—and we used his body to create this one for Amber. It's durable, powerful, and far more stable than what she had before. Even untrained, it's monstrously strong."
The room fell silent.
One by one, their expressions softened, and Misty stepped forward.
"We're sorry for jumping to conclusions," she said quietly. "I didn't know what you went through to make this possible. I was selfish."
She lowered her head, lips trembling with guilt.
'To think I even scolded him for taking so long. I really suck as a wife,' Misty thought, her fists clenching at her sides.
