Chapter 202
Giselle, arriving late to the laundry room, froze in place.
What kind of chaos is this?
The scene before her was nothing short of a frenzy.
Even primitive humans discovering fire for the first time would be calmer than this.
With a sidelong glance, she noticed Emily and Violette staring at the scene in shock, clearly unprepared for such a spectacle.
Giselle felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Couldn’t they show even a modicum of decorum in front of guests?
The maids, however, were far too caught up in their euphoria to care about the guests' presence. The joy of finally escaping the "laundry hell" had overtaken them completely. One maid even kissed the spinner in sheer delight.
Watching this, Emily leaned over and whispered to her sister.
“What in the world are those things?”
“I’m not sure. One looks like a magical tool for ironing clothes, but the other… it’s just a big barrel?”
“That’s a spinner,” came a calm voice.
The chief steward, who had been quietly observing, answered Emily’s question. Violette’s eyes widened in realization.
“A spinner? Does it remove water from laundry?”
“Precisely. With a spinner, you can wring out laundry effortlessly. The Baroness designed these spinners and irons herself after witnessing the hardships of the servants.”
“The Baroness of Halo made these?”
Violette was struck with awe. The same thrill she’d felt upon first encountering the soap and cosmetics made with green herbs surged through her again.
What do you think?
