Chapter 640: Chapter 537: Establishing the Magic Net System and Methods for Extracting Antimatter_2
“It was the basic skill ‘Material Decompilation Skill at the Elementary Level’… Alec quickly understood the information and roughly mastered the techniques of casting magic, and immediately couldn’t help touching the remaining runes.”
This time, no information came through; instead, a reminder tone sounded.
“Ding, First Circle Advanced Elemental Magic—Multiple Frost Blades, minimum spiritual power rating required—Apprentice (not achieved), Basic Chemistry Diploma (achieved).”
Alec visibly paused for a moment, but soon understood the meaning of the reminder tone. A Basic Chemistry Diploma, naturally he had one, having passed the chemistry test with excellent grades.
As for the spiritual power rating, Alec checked and found his rating was only 0.4, still 0.1 short of the minimum standard for an apprentice.
With a clear goal and progress in mind, Alec wasn’t discouraged, he decided that he would diligently train his spiritual power after returning home, to reach the standards of a Wizard Apprentice as soon as possible. He then learned two basic skills in the Magic Net, namely ‘Mage’s Hand’ and ‘Condensing Water Technique’.”
Alec opened his eyes again and immediately began experimenting. Under the influence of ‘Mage’s Hand,’ the books on the desk immediately floated up.
“Magic, this is magic!” Alec exclaimed excitedly, never having imagined that he would actually become a Wizard.
However, the spiritual power of an ordinary person is ultimately limited. Even though Alec was one of the best among the commoners and had taken a ‘Magic Potion for Enlightenment,’ after maintaining ‘Mage’s Hand’ for about thirty seconds, his brain began to feel dizzy, and he quickly canceled the spell.
The potion master recorded Alec’s performance in detail, but his expression was complicated because, from today onward, what was known as the miracle of magic would no longer be the exclusive domain of the gifted. It was uncertain whether this change was good or bad…
In fact, Wizards who were skeptical about the Magic Net like him were not few, and some radical Wizards even maliciously hoped that some errors would occur in the Magic Net constructed by that ‘Star of Magic’.”
Even though the hereditary noble system of the Empire was uprooted, signs of a different kind of resurgence were vaguely emerging. With the rise in status and strength as well as improvements in living conditions, the doctrine of magical lineage subtly began to take hold.”
The main idea was that Wizards are noble, their bodies teeming with magic blood, which enables them to wield this incredible power called magic!
This ideology had not yet had the chance to develop a significant following before it was shattered by the Magic Net built by Lynn.
The establishment of the Magic Net System meant that even commoners without any natural magic talent could acquire power equal to theirs through study. Naturally, there were endless objections.
Fortunately, these objections didn’t last long before they began to diminish. The reason was that more and more Wizards found that the Magic Net was simply too convenient!
Using computing power to assist in advancement was just one of its functionalities. It also allowed for a visual representation of one’s remaining magic power, assessing one’s physical condition, aiding in magical experiments, and even assisting in combat to a certain degree—though this was a high-level option not available for everyone to use.”
Rumor had it that that ‘Star of Magic’ planned to continue adding communication and monetary transaction functionalities…
This made the Wizards who were gradually becoming familiar with the Magic Net somewhat reluctant to give it up, and accordingly, the voices of opposition naturally diminished significantly.”
On the other side, Lynn also received the experiment report on the ‘Magic Potion for Enlightenment’.”
“All one thousand people succeeded? It looks like it’s time to consider widespread implementation,” Lynn thought to himself. He wasn’t surprised by the result; just giving someone a basic magic power wasn’t too difficult.”
The only problem with widespread implementation was the lack of materials; every bottle of ‘Potion for Enlightenment’ used up considerable magic potion reserves. Even though the council had taken over the entire continent and obtained some of the church’s magic potion reserves, it was only enough to produce fifty thousand bottles.”
However, setting up the Magic Net throughout the entire empire brought huge benefits — there were now nineteen thousand certified Wizards linked to it, and the apprentices even surpassed three hundred thousand.
Having tried linking with the Magic Net, Lynn found that with the boost in computing power, only a small distance remained before he reached the limit of a ninth ring Wizard.
Thinking this, Lynn turned his attention to the books spread open on the desk. He had found time recently to finish the books written by the Elemental Controller, Altoc, which could only be described as insanely profound.
The text was filled with all kinds of wild guesses and fantasies. Fortunately, Lynn had managed to find some clues about quantization from the few words in them, which seemed to be related to his own soul. He vaguely had some guesses about what to do next, but he was not a hundred percent sure.
He had also found time to write a paper integrating special and general relativity with quantum theory, divided into ten parts, ready to be published one by one, accessible only to Grand Wizards and above.
If he could dispel the Grand Wizards’ fear of microscopic phenomena before the war against the Lord of the Necropolis began, they might gain several more legendary warriors.
Next came the problem of acquiring antimatter!
This was the weapon Lynn had decided to use against the Lord of the Necropolis, annihilating everything with the powerful force created by the annihilation effect of matter and antimatter, but how to obtain antimatter was a difficult question!
Antimatter was like a mirror image of ordinary matter, reminiscent of the Daoist theory of Yin and Yang, where there was polarity in everything!
Contrary to what many might think, antimatter was actually not rare at all; rather, it was everywhere, whether in the surrounding space or inside the body, as particles and antiparticles continuously emerged.
They existed for an extremely short time, often annihilating each other to release energy as soon as they appeared.
When this phenomenon was first detected, many historical researchers even exclaimed that the law of conservation of energy had been broken!
Because these particles and antiparticles appeared out of nowhere, even popping out from the vacuum without any warning.
Of course, subsequent research proved that the law of conservation of energy was still solid, it’s just that the vacuum wasn’t truly empty, or to put it another way, the federation’s level of technology couldn’t completely remove all matter and energy.
As for the antimatter extraction devices, there were quite a few in intelligent systems, such as the most advanced Anti-Matter Extractor which had anti-particle traps inside that could capture anti-particles emerging from the vacuum and store them.
However, it was clear that such convenient high-tech was definitely beyond their capability to create, so they still relied on some ancient methods, such as the collision of high-energy particles.
When particles were smashed with sufficient energy, some of that energy would be converted into antimatter.
This required the use of a demonized high-speed particle collider, which he had already quietly started to build, and due to secrecy, it had not been announced publicly.
“I just don’t know if antimatter can also be analyzed and controlled by magic power…” Lynn pondered internally, and this was his greatest concern. Mass-manufacturing antimatter with their level of capability was nearly impossible, and they didn’t have enough time.
The only solution was to manufacture a few anti-hydrogen atoms, then deconstruct them using the Great Decomposition Technique, and subsequently use magic power to mass-produce them, just like they had transformed Nuclear Explosion Magic into a practicable spell to perform “Matter-Antimatter Annihilation”!
While thinking this, Lynn organized the documents and called Ailoke to compile some of the relativity papers into volumes and make a hundred copies to send to the Grand Wizards in the council who were studying quantum phenomena.
Unfortunately, there was very little time left — only about three months. If they could have had a few more years, they would certainly have been more relaxed…
What do you think?
