Chapter 633: Chapter 534: Could You Please Help Us Build a Sun?

Outside the Space-Time Gate, a foreign land, Shattered City—Akana.

This place had once been one of the three most important cities under the rule of the Moon God Church, a sacred site for worshiping the gods.

But now, this once-thriving sacred site had long since become a pile of ruins. Collapsed buildings could be seen everywhere, and the sacred and magnificent cathedral had been mysteriously severed at the waist, now completely unrecognizable. The remnants across the city were only some transformed undead, and the air was filled with a stench of malodorous decay.

This was a forbidden land for the living, a paradise for the dead…

Under the protection of the Skeleton Reapers, the great lich Cecil floated to a massive altar built from human and beast bones. The dry lips, only left with bones, leather, and teeth, moved up and down, uttering the harsh, raspy Soul Language.

With the surge of Magic Power, the bone-built altar immediately emitted a bluish glow, and then the light grew increasingly intense until it condensed into a beam that shot up into the sky…

At the same time, all the high-ranking undead within a radius of tens of kilometers sensed this call and began spontaneously moving towards the direction of the altar.

The undead knights clad in iron armor galloping across the desolate wilderness, the patchwork monsters composed of flesh and corpses, the ever-restless shrieking banshees, and numerous transformed high-ranking priests and professionals of undead entities.

Soon, the boundless darkness resounded with deafening roars as hundreds of fierce skeleton dragons descended from the sky, accompanied by countless enslaved spirits…

The undead within Shattered City quickly gathered in increasing numbers. Within just an hour, their numbers had surged past millions, and this was merely the count of high-ranking undead in this region.

The gathered undead army filled the entire city. Although their forms varied and their appearances were distorted, what was common was the Soul Fire burning in their eyes as they continuously called out that name with the Soul Language—the lord of the undead, Danates!

The echoing calls coalesced into form, and an incomprehensible presence descended amidst the darkness. A strong oppressive force enveloped the entire city, and a bone-chilling coldness emerged in the void.

“Great lord of the undead, enemy of all living beings… Cecil salutes you!” the great lich bowed his head, speaking in a trembling and respectful tone.

“You have done well, Cecil. Once I have completely controlled this divine realm, you shall receive the reward you desire!” A dark, chilly voice resounded above the entire city, as if the wind itself was howling.

The great lich Cecil was overjoyed, but did not show it, and quickly reported the discoveries of recent times.

“My lord, I suspect that the Moon God might have already fallen. We have nearly annihilated every city in this realm, yet we encountered no significant resistance. The priests who worshipped the Moon God have also all lost their ability to wield Divine Arts.”

Previously assigned as the vanguard officer to invade this realm, the great lich Cecil had refused. Though his power had long reached the pinnacle of legend, being the vanguard in a godly war and delving into a True God’s divine realm was, understandably, perilous.

To say it was a suicide mission was no exaggeration because even a flick of the Moon God’s finger could easily crush him.

However, upon actually arriving in this world, Cecil was surprised to discover that it seemed not to be a suicide mission but an almost effortless achievement.

The resistance of the enemies was much weaker than expected. Initially, Cecil was worried it might be a trap, so he proceeded very cautiously, spending decades planning and strategizing. In the end, it turned out he had overthought; the undead army swept through everything, and the Moon God never appeared.

“It’s also possible that she willingly left, abandoning this realm…” The dark, chilly voice sounded again as chaos churned atop the bone-built altar, with a vague shadow appearing within it.

Cecil merely glanced at it before feeling a strong stir within his Soul Fire, and he quickly bowed his head again.

Gods are not to be seen, not to be measured, not to be known…

This was the iron rule of the main world, and even though he had reached the legendary pinnacle, he dared not gaze at a godly form for long. The gap between them remained as vast as the heavens.

What surprised him even more were the words of the lord of the undead.

He could not imagine what sort of circumstances would cause a god to willingly abandon their divine realm—the very cornerstone of Divine Power.

“I have already sensed it, the Magic Power in this world is dissipating, its essence fading…” the cold voice of the lord of the undead echoed in the hollow void. “Diana must have found a new realm!”

When the Moon Goddess Diana had suddenly chosen to detach her divine realm from the main world, it had taken all the gods by surprise.

Some suspected that the Moon Goddess had done so to avoid a godly war initiated by a rival deity, hence her hasty escape.

Others suspected that Diana had discovered a new realm, at least a medium-sized one, to have taken such a desperate risk.

Danates believed more in the latter, hence he had spent significant effort locating Diana’s divine realm and went to great lengths to open the Space-Time Gate linking the two places.

Now, guessing that the Moon Goddess had already abandoned this divine realm, he was even more convinced of his theory, even thinking it likely that Diana had discovered a fully-formed large realm, thus opting for such an act of severing ties.
