Chapter 630: 532 is ten thousand, ten thousand is one, it is everywhere, now I am everywhere too!
Three minutes later, Lynn successfully landed above Fire Oil City without the slightest delay and directly entered the newly constructed Magic Tower.
Originally, this place was an estate of a great noble of the empire, but unfortunately, the entire building complex had been destroyed by his “Doomsday – Atomic Breath” to protect the fusion furnace located underground, and the council then re-established the Magic Tower above it.
As soon as he stepped into the tower, Alade, who had received the message, immediately came out with people and took Lynn into the underground space.
“How did the promotion ceremony go this time?” Lynn asked straightforwardly without any intention of small talk.
Alade hesitated to speak, seemingly at a loss for words, but fortunately, Harrov and the others had already approached, with Aurora explaining.
“The outcome can’t be considered good, one success and two failures, and as for Jeffrey, we temporarily suspended his promotion ceremony.”
Lynn glanced at the few who had come out and did not see the two great wizards, immediately realizing their fate, even though the successfully promoted Anthony looked rather unwell.
“What exactly happened?” Lynn asked, quite puzzled. Although the ceremony for legendary promotion faced many risks, the success rate should not have been so low.
In his expectations, this promotion ceremony was most dangerous for Anthony, since he had become a six-ring Wizard just under two years ago, whereas the other selected Wizards had been in this realm for over a decade. It made no sense that only he succeeded while the others failed.
“Speaking of which, it’s all my fault…” Anthony sighed, then began to explain.
He was the first to undergo the promotion ceremony, and during the reconstruction of the magic and energy bodies, something unexpected happened.
“I suddenly realized that my energy body was as unstable as water waves, ready to collapse at any moment.”
Anthony spoke with immense relief, fortunately, he had converted his energy body into a material state of magic power in time, thus avoiding the collapse of his form. That’s why he particularly reminded Jeffrey and others to be extra cautious about this.
However, this advice seemed to have the opposite effect. The two great wizards who promoted after him undoubtedly listened, and then died even faster, without even having completely consolidated their magic bodies.
Jeffrey, having witnessed the demise of his colleagues, was terribly frightened and immediately gave up on promotion, and Harrov promptly halted the continuation of the ceremony.
“I think this probably has to do with their fear of the microscopic domain,” Aurora said somberly, now also having lost her ability to switch between magic and energy bodies, and so she could especially understand their feelings.
Hearing this, the wizards present looked at Lynn with peculiar eyes.
Because this star of magic was precisely the ‘chief perpetrator’ who proposed the quantum probability theory.
Great, so it’s all my fault…
For a moment, Lynn found himself at a loss for words, not having imagined that proposing quantum theory could have such a significant impact on legendary promotions.
“It seems that until there’s a perfect conclusion in the theory of microscopic elements, it’s better to put off legendary promotions for later,” Harrov said helplessly.
This promotion accident couldn’t be blamed on anyone. Anthony, with good intentions, warned the two, and that it would backfire was completely unexpected to everyone.
And Lynn’s publications on arcane study in the microscopic domain and making them public had no issues either. It could only be said that the two great wizards were simply unlucky.
It looks like I need to write out the theory of relativity sooner… Lynn shook his head. Originally, he thought there was no rush, as arcane deductions needed to be gradual, and not all theories should be deduced by himself alone, as this would dampen the Wizards’ enthusiasm for studying magic.
But now it seemed that if he did not resolve the quantum cloud looming over the grand edifice of magic, their mass promotion of legends might just go down the drain.
“By the way, I heard that the Elemental Controller, Altoc, seems to have done quite some research into the micro-domain?” Lynn suddenly remembered this and asked out of curiosity.
He remembered that before his own promotion, the council had five chairpersons. The Power of Giant Dragon, Fayez, was schemed against and killed by the Evil Mage Merck. As for this Elemental Controller Altoc, he had yet to meet him.
“Altoc is quite mad, I fear communicating with him might prove difficult,” Harrov said hesitantly.
After Lynn proposed his quantum theory, he had someone send over the compiled theories, hoping to cure this old friend’s madness.
But from the reports he received, it seemed that Altoc had grown even madder.
Aurora also sighed. The “Quantum Ghost” indeed was terrifying. In a way, Altoc was just walking a path in magic that was much faster and far more remote than theirs.
“Altoc should still be in Wizard Land. If you want to find him, maybe we can go together,” Harrov said solemnly.
Among them, Altoc was the one who delved deepest into the micro-domain. Though his mind hadn’t been quite right in recent years, he had never given up on researching and exploring the micro-domain. Perhaps there could be some progress.
…
In the evening, Wizard Land — Greenriel, Lynn, Harrov, and Aurora arrived here together, much to the delight of the residing Archmage, Ignar.
Ever since the council decided to leave this island and wage war on the mainland against the Church, this former capital of wizards, the heart of the council, had become much lonelier.
If possible, no one would pass up the chance to long for an expansive land. Now, only a few civilians who cherished their homeland and didn’t want to leave, as well as wizards and guards responsible for guarding the Space-Time Gate, remained on the island.
“How has Altoc been lately? Has his illness improved at all?” Aurora asked, concerned.
“The chairman has locked himself in the laboratory for almost half a month now. He’s driven us all out, saying he wants to stay with the Elemental Ghosts, and he doesn’t allow anyone else inside,” Ignar said, both speechless and helpless, clearly very troubled by the mentally unstable chairman.
Not only was the chairman high in status and much stronger than himself, but he also occasionally came up with ideas that he couldn’t stop, so he could only let him do as he wished.
Harrov’s face twitched, and he patted Ignar on the shoulder, knowing it was indeed tough to care for a patient with a troubled mind.
As for Altoc’s orders, Harrov didn’t take them to heart but rather was curious about what the other was up to, especially since he hadn’t come out for a whole half-month.
Lynn stepped forward and pushed open the laboratory’s doors, which had been closed for half a month. He could feel a strong magic power inside, but when he finally saw the interior clearly, a look of surprise appeared on his face.
The entire laboratory covered an area of roughly seven hundred square meters, one could see to the end at a glance. Inside, many objects were piled up, while the walls were covered with various formulas and messy drawings.
These drawings looked very bizarre and abstract, as if a young child was trying to use pens to describe a world that surpassed understanding.
“Strange, where is Altoc?” Harrov scanned the laboratory. There was no one inside, but they all sensed the presence of a magic domain. The person releasing this domain could only be this Elemental Controller.
“Harrov, Chairman Lynn, come and look at this,” Aurora said with a grave expression as she looked towards the lab’s desk.
On the desk was a line of crookedly engraved text.
Harrov glanced at it and felt a chill rise from his feet to his heart, unable to stop reading it aloud.
“One is all, all is one, I am about to merge with them… It is everywhere, and now I am everywhere too…”
What do you think?
