Chapter 444: Chapter 430: Nuclear Blast Destruction Zone, Annihilation of the Expeditionary Force with a Single Strike!
The terror of the nuclear explosion persisted for over an hour before it gradually subsided.
A ten-kilometer radius had been reduced to scorched earth; the soil, after melting under high temperatures, slowly cooled and solidified into a glass-like substance.
The dust clouds lingering in the sky did not clear away for a long time…
With the help of the river’s barrier, Lynn, who had survived the nuclear blast, flew out of the rolling waters, and the councilmen were no exception.
“Such terrifying power!” Harrov exclaimed.
They drifted along the direction of the river for seven or eight kilometers, landing in the outermost area of the nuclear blast.
However, everything within view was annihilated, leaving behind only the light from blazing fires—a scene straight out of the apocalypse.
Even though Lynn had already demonstrated the power of a nuclear explosion to them last time, that explosion took place deep underground, limiting its range, so they weren’t able to witness the magic’s power firsthand.
But this time was different, as the detonation happened aboveground!
A mere hollowed-out mine stood no chance against the force of the nuclear shockwave.
Aurora, in the best condition, expanded her domain first, using magic power to construct a ring on the periphery of the group, composed of tightly packed lead elements to block the radiation from the outside.
Despite their immense strength and ability to create magic domains to protect themselves, if they stayed too long in a radiation zone, their bodies would inevitably endure injuries that would be difficult to heal.
“What’s wrong with your eyes, Vittorio?”
Aurora turned and looked at Vittorio, who had been tightly closing his eyes, and asked with a frown.
“I must have told you not to look at the explosion, Councilman Vittorio,” Lynn said, shaking his head helplessly; he could clearly see that the other’s eyes had been scorched by the intense light.
The light produced by a nuclear blast was incredibly intense, accompanied by various high-energy rays, and very dangerous.
Vittorio gave a bitter smile.
Lynn’s previous descriptions had seemed so exaggerated that out of immense curiosity about what kind of force could be too powerful for even them, ‘legendary’ wizards, to look at directly, he had sneaked a peek.
To his shock, just a glimpse was enough to blind him!
Fortunately, this was not an incurable injury.
With his perceptive abilities, a lack of vision did not affect his movement, but it would definitely require some time to recuperate.
“She should be dead by now, right?” Harrov looked far out toward the center of the nuclear blast, where there had once been a mountain that had now vanished, leaving behind only a vast crater.
“Let’s hope so!
If we can’t resolve our adversary with that, then we can only submit to our fates,” Lynn said gravely.
The strength of this Holy Maiden of the Church far exceeded their expectations.
The three ‘legendary’ councilmen, combined with Lynn who had utilized the magic network, had stood no chance against her and were forced to flee…
If Lynn hadn’t had a contingency plan, it would probably be them who were dead now!
He wondered how much of her original strength she possessed…
Lynn, somewhat apprehensive, prepared his defenses and flew back to the center of the nuclear blast with Harrov and the others to confirm that the opponent was completely obliterated and no further action was necessary, before returning with peace of mind.
Though the battle here had ended, the sudden disappearance of the Judgement Chief of the Holy City was a considerable concern for Lynn.
It was very possible that the enemy had seen through their secret plan to strike Fire Oil City and had gone to reinforce it!
It was unlikely that Anthony and the others could handle an opponent like that.
Considering this, the several injured individuals did not dare to rest and immediately flew back at top speed.
Beyond the ten-kilometer destruction zone of the nuclear blast, the empire soldiers who had lagged behind and not entered the blast radius had luckily preserved their lives but were equally in a dire state.
Some soldiers were scorched by flames or blinded by light, falling to the ground screaming in agony, while others knelt down frantically to pray, begging the gods for salvation.
Aurora sighed and simply took action to end their lives, sparing them from further suffering, as their chances of survival were slim to none under such circumstances.
Many soldiers who were further away threw off their helmets and armor and fled in panic.
Harrov extended his hand, wanting to annihilate these imperial guards and erase any living force of the enemy, but Lynn stopped him.
“Let them go back,” he said, “We can’t possibly kill every fleeing person!”
“Besides, these men have completely lost their morale, filled only with panic; it might cause even more chaos if we let them return to the empire,” Lynn explained.
The outcome of the last battle for the capital had been censored by the church, so much so that the empire still thrived in festivity, with the majority of civilians unaware that the kingdom had fallen.

However, this time there was no hiding it, with such heavy casualties, plus so many witnesses escaping all the way back to the Holy City, the news would likely spread throughout the empire quickly.
In the scriptures, the Lord is great, invincible, and the messengers following God’s will shall surely find victory!
Yet, the reality was that the crusading army had been defeated here, over and over, and even the Holy Maiden had died at their hands.
Once this news spread, it would profoundly shake the theocratic system.
Lynn grew even more curious, wondering how the church would deal with these soldiers who were spreading panic!
The journey from the center of the nuclear explosion to Fire Oil City took about twenty minutes.
Upon seeing everything was safe here, everyone’s tense expressions instantly relaxed.
The relieved ones included the multitude of Wizards stationed in Fire Oil City.
When they saw Lynn and the others return, they knew the battle had been decided!
Anthony brought Lynn and the three councilmen to the tidied-up Duke’s manor and asked, “It looks like things went smoothly on your end?”
At least Lynn, the star of magic, and the councilmen were all there, unlike their side, which had lost two great wizards.
“It wasn’t exactly smooth,” Lynn shook his head, then started to explain what had happened.
When they heard that the church’s Holy Maiden was an incarnation of the Moon Goddess, the Wizards present all broke out in a cold sweat.
Although they scoffed at the title of “god” and boldly called Elara a false god, the strength of the opposition was undeniable!
Even the Legendary Councilmen struggled to compete with it!
“We’re alive now partly thanks to luck, and partly because of a new spell by Master Lynn!” Harrov said with feeling.
“A new spell?
Is that the Sun that appeared in the sky just now?” Alade asked curiously.
They had certainly seen the huge burst of light and the rising mushroom cloud in the sky, but because they were too far away, the light that reached them had been weakened enough not to blind people, roughly comparable to the midday Sun, dazzling and glaring.
The intense shaking of the ground that accompanied it made some wonder if Master Lynn had pulled the Sun down from the heavens!
