Chapter 28 - 28 028 Attack_1
Chapter 28: 028 Attack_1 Chapter 28: 028 Attack_1 “It’s okay, just a broken cane.” Phil ran his hand through his hair, seemingly glancing at Tifa nonchalantly.
The four of them just stepped onto the street, the sky darkening.
“Coach, I’m going home.” Tifa waved, she didn’t live near Casio, Phil, and the others, her home was in another direction.
“Hmm, go ahead, stay safe.” Casio nodded.
Phil beside him waved in the distance.
The streetlights on the side of the road had started to work, their dull yellow light faintly illuminating the ground. The neatly arranged dark grey bricks formed a grid pattern on the street, with a few black trash cans occasionally lining the roadside. An old newspaper was carried away by the cold wind.
The three of them progressed along the side of the road, ahead continuously extended towards the city’s main road, occasionally you could see the distant shadows of cars passing by.
There weren’t many people on the street, only the cries of stray cats on the walls. Walking in silence, you could hear the sounds of people cursing, classical music, and the placing of tables and chairs coming from the building on your right-hand side.
“Phil, I’m going. Coach Li Wei, I’m leaving.”
At an intersection, Milo split from the two and went home.
Now, only Phil and Casio were walking down the road. Maybe to avoid making the ambiance awkward, Phil took the initiative to start a conversation.
He glanced at the side: “Coach Li Wei, if I trained well in combat, could I handle those who use daggers and weapons?”
“It depends on the actual situation. If you understand your strength a hundred percent, you won’t have any problem even when empty-handed. But I suggest that combat enthusiasts, when facing ruffians or villains with daggers, the first response should be to run, and the faster, the better. The fact that humans can exert greater power with tools is inevitable, just like from fists to cold weapons to firearms.”
“Unless…” Casio paused slightly: “Unless you’ve trained your body to be harder than steel, your punching speed faster than bullets, and the power of your fist comparable to a shell. Otherwise, weapons will always have the advantage…”
“Isn’t this the kind of thing from comics? What was that popular one called… Captain Hong Li?” Phil scratched his head and blurted out: “There can’t be such superhumans in the real world, right…”
“Maybe not?”
The tone of Casio’s reply was more like a question than a statement. Because right now, he was just starting with secret martial arts, and there were more profound mysteries shrouded in fog.
Without dispelling them, Casio didn’t know where the limits of martial arts were, whether to confront firearms, bullets, and… nuclear weapons.
Right, this world still hadn’t developed nuclear bombs.
The two of them continued to chat and walk ahead, the light from the streetlamp gradually dimmed behind them, and this part of the road was somewhat dark.
Slap. A black shoe stepped on a small stone.
Phil’s foot slipped, but he was steadied by Casio.
“Thanks coa… ”
The sentence was cut off abruptly, Phil’s eyes widened suddenly.
Clang!
Around the corner of the alley on the right, a shiny silver dagger stabbed like a poisonous snake, the blade gleaming with lethal brightness under the light.
Behind the dagger were a pair of cold, indifferent eyes.
“Ah!” Phil couldn’t help but scream.
In an instant, the dagger stabbed towards his neck.
“Whoosh!”
A fist roughened by calluses whirled with a ferocious gust, hitting the attacker directly in the elbow joint with a crisp crack.
Clang! The dagger was flung away and fell to the ground.
The assassin stepped to the right swiftly, his face deathly pale and terrified, cold sweat accompanied by waves of pain dripping from his forehead.
His arm was flailing like a windmill, with the vague sight of fresh blood splattering out from his sleeve.
Just one joint blow, and the man’s arm was broken.
“Kill them!” The man shouted and charged forward, drawing another dagger from his waist with his left hand.
“There’s more of them?!”
Casio felt a pang of tension, instantly going on the offensive. He darted forward, his agile figure resembling a nimble leopard.
Confronting the stabbing dagger, his sturdy arms like steel bars shot forward in a snapping motion, moving with incredible speed.
Krack, krack, krack.
A series of teeth-grinding bone-cracking sounds echoed out. The arm was twisted off like a twisted doughnut. The red muscle outlines broke apart revealing the white bone inside.
The splattered blood stained Casio’s hands.
“…” Casio breathed in the bloody air deeply, no longer able to suppress the wildness wreaking inside him. His iron fist swung like a steel bar.
Thump! The man’s head was struck as if hit by a hammer and his body flew sideways, crashing into a trash can. The loud thud was accompanied by a sudden gush of blood.
A distinct dent appeared on the surface of the steel trash can.
“Heh…”
The man’s breath struggled out as the air could only go out but not in.
“I’ve killed again.” Casio’s face disappeared into the darkness, feeling an indescribable calmness. However, his fists continued to tremble with uncontrollable excitement, with every inch of muscle on his arm seeming to jump. Fresh blood kept dripping from his knuckles.
“What’s happening to me?”
Casio questioned himself internally. At this moment, he found himself unafraid of murdering, even feeling overwhelming excitement. Deep in his soul, it was as if an instinct-filled, blood-red balloon had been burst.
The liquid inside was rapidly evaporating and rising, like an invisible hand seizing his heart and shrouding his brain.
The blood-thirsty beast deep within him, was gradually activated by the blood.
“It’s the influence of the Shadow Demon. This inhuman creature must be influencing me!” Casio glanced back at his elongated shadow.
It seemed to wriggle, as if protesting.
“Then, I will do as you wish…”
Casio whirled around, his legs bending and stretching. He charged headlong towards the three incoming assassins with his blood-soaked fists.
Meanwhile, Phil stood still, stunned.
All he saw was Coach Li Wei charging forward, and the next second, the leading man was hammered directly into the grey wall by a punch.
The entire fierce face was deeply recessed, the proud nose collapsed flat, and an eye burst open. Great swathes of blood mixed with fragments of bone fell to the ground.
“Ding!”
Casio spun around with a side kick, kicking the dagger off the assassin’s hand. The next instant, he crashed into the assassin’s arms. His hands, straight like a lotus, were thrust upwards.
The second assassin’s chin cracked and he found himself staring at the sky, shock written across his face, and fresh blood leaking from the corners of his mouth.
Thump! The assassin’s body fell stiffly to the floor.
Casio sprang against the wall, leaping in the opposite direction like a hungry tiger about to strike. His hands formed into fists, one behind the other, they struck hard on the last person’s chest.
Instantly, the man backed away frantically, his body trembling uncontrollably.
He continued to shake against the wall, and before long, blood mixed with shattered internal organs flowed from the corner of his mouth.
What do you think?
