Chapter 278 – Lapin Blanco
Chapter 278 – Lapin Blanco
"Eh? The cloud is your body?" Tamina was taken aback. She hadn't expected a quiz. "Don't tell me, Esteemed Mysterious Senior, you're actually a cloud that gained sentience?"
"Kekeke! Young human, your imagination is quite good. It's possible, but the conditions for that are extremely improbable," the voice replied, amused.
"Then... what else? Hmm... I can't think of anything. What about you, Anda?" Tamina turned to her companion.
"Hmm... maybe a cotton that gained sentience?" Anda guessed, her tone half-serious, half-joking.
"Kekeke! That's a funny answer too. Not bad. However, still wrong. It seems that you both won't be getting my reward. Too bad!" the voice said, its laughter echoing through the garden.
Anda didn't really care about the reward the cloud in front of her had promised. Her primary concern was ensuring their safety. For now, she felt a bit relieved because the mysterious presence didn't seem to have any intention of harming them. However, she couldn't let her guard down entirely. After all, a being of such power could change its mind at any moment.
"Since you both have run out of ideas, I'm just going to show you my true form. Get ready," the voice announced, its tone brimming with playful anticipation.
Anda and Tamina gulped, their hearts pounding. What would the mysterious expert's true form look like? They were both curious and somewhat afraid, unconsciously taking a few steps back as the atmosphere around them began to shift.
The air trembled with energy, as if a massive transformation was about to take place. A terrifying aura pulsed from the large round cloud, its pressure pushing the two ladies further back. The ground beneath them seemed to vibrate, and the colorful cloud flowers around them swayed as if caught in an invisible wind.
Then, in an instant, all the energy and aura vanished. The tension in the air dissipated, replaced by an almost comical silence. Two big, long ears popped out of the cloud, followed by a fluffy, adorable face.
Anda and Tamina stared, dumbfounded. This was the most anticlimactic moment of their lives. Where was the grand transformation? Where was the majestic, awe-inspiring supreme expert? Instead, they were face-to-face with a huge, fluffy rabbit. A Demonic Rabbit?
"Kekeke! Kekeke! This is the expression I wanted to see. Perfect! I am the master of trolling! Kekeke," the cloud rabbit laughed, its voice filled with glee.
"Are you... a Demonic Rabbit?" Anda asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"In your language, yes, I am a Demonic Rabbit. But my Celestial Cloud bloodline has fully awakened. So, I'm no longer just a rabbit. I am a Celestial Cloud Rabbit. How does that sound? Pretty awesome, right?" the rabbit said, puffing out its chest proudly.
"So, all the clouds here are your creations, Senior?" Anda asked, still trying to process the situation.
"Of course! My bloodline ability is pretty awesome, right? The celestial clouds are incredibly versatile. Within my domain, I can control them however I want. But the ones you collected outside my domain follow specific rules. I think you two have already figured them out," the rabbit explained, its tone casual yet brimming with pride.
Anda and Tamina nodded slowly, the pieces falling into place. They now understood why the mystical cloud sea—no, the celestial cloud sea—could support a massive floating island. It was all thanks to the rabbit's bloodline ability to control and manipulate clouds.
"Ah, right. Let me turn into a more suitable form first. I'm a bit too big right now," the Celestial Cloud Rabbit said, its fluffy ears twitching as it spoke.
In the next moment, the rabbit began to glow, its silhouette shifting and reshaping rapidly. The glow intensified, obscuring its form, and when it faded, the rabbit was gone. In its place stood a humanoid figure with a few unmistakable rabbit features. The man had a head of fluffy white afro hair, long rabbit ears poking through, and two slightly oversized front teeth that gave him a mischievous grin. He was dressed impeccably in a neat suit, complete with a cloud-patterned shirt and a bow tie, looking every bit like a quirky gentleman.
The sudden transformation left Anda and Tamina stunned, especially Tamina. A demonic beast capable of taking human form! This was no ordinary creature—it was a King Level Demonic Beast, equivalent to a Soul Transformation Realm powerhouse!
Tamina's mind raced. She had initially assumed the creature was, at most, a General Level Demonic Beast. But now, it all made sense. Only a King Level Demonic Beast could possess the power to sustain a floating island of this magnitude, even with the aid of a powerful bloodline ability.
In the Protogaea Continent, King Level Demonic Beasts were exceedingly rare, each one a force of nature capable of shaking the earth. Even Soul Transformation Realm cultivators avoided direct confrontation with them whenever possible. Their bloodline abilities were simply too overwhelming.
Demonic beasts were generally at a disadvantage before awakening their bloodline abilities, but once awakened, they often surpassed cultivators of the same level. Not only did they possess unique magical abilities, but their physical strength was also far superior.
"Hello again, human ladies. Welcome to my domain. In my human form, you can call me Abbit," the rabbit-man said, his eyes glinting with mischief as he glanced at Anda.
"Kekeke! Just kidding. My name is Celestial Cloud Lapin Blanco. I gave that name to myself. It sounds cool, right?" he added, his grin widening as he flashed his prominent front teeth.
Anda's mouth twitched. Did he just take a shot at my name? She thought.
"So, Anda and Tamina, right? Actually, I have a request for you two. Oh, wait. Look at me," Lapin said, waving his hand casually. In an instant, three chairs made of celestial clouds materialized behind them, their surfaces soft yet firm.
"Alright, let's sit first," Lapin said, gracefully taking a seat and crossing his right leg over his knee. Anda and Tamina exchanged a glance before cautiously sitting down, the cloud chairs molding comfortably to their forms.
"Senior Celestial Cloud Lapin, what do you mean by a request? I'm not sure if small cultivators like us could actually help a supreme expert like you," Anda said, her tone cautious but curious.
Lapin leaned forward slightly, his rabbit ears twitching as he spoke. "I need your help to escape from this world."
"What?" Anda and Tamina exclaimed in unison, their eyes widening in shock. Why would a powerhouse like him want to escape this world? Was he planning to go to their world?
The two ladies exchanged uneasy glances, unsure how to respond. Their minds raced with questions. What would happen if Lapin entered their world? Would he be a danger? While he was undoubtedly a King Level Demonic Beast—a being of immense power—their world was home to many Soul Transformation Realm powerhouses and even Dao Manifestation Realm superpowerhouses. Even if Lapin had ulterior motives, like conquering their world, it would be an impossible feat alone.
"Kekeke. Why are you both looking at me like I intend to do something bad? I'm a peace lover, okay? I only want to leave this world because my peaceful days will end if I don't. If I stay, I will surely die," Lapin said, his tone surprisingly lighthearted despite the gravity of his words.
"What?" Anda and Tamina were stunned again. A King Level Demonic Beast claiming he would die? What could possibly threaten a being of his caliber?
"Kekeke. Look at you two. So easily shocked. You've seen that monstrous tree on the horizon, right?" Lapin asked, gesturing vaguely in the direction of the towering tree they had been heading toward.
Anda and Tamina nodded, their unease growing.
"That's the thing that will kill me in the future. That tree exterminated every human who lived here in the past—and countless demonic beasts, too," Lapin revealed, his voice taking on a somber edge.
Anda and Tamina's eyes widened further. The tree they had been journeying toward was humanity's enemy? The revelation sent a chill down their spines.
"Some humans managed to escape this world, but that was less than one percent of the total population. The other 99%, those who couldn't escape, died," Lapin continued, his expression uncharacteristically serious.
"How did they escape?" Anda asked, though her mind was already racing ahead. "Was it the portal?"
"Ding ding ding! You are correct!" Lapin said, his playful demeanor returning for a moment.
"Anda, if everyone is heading toward that tree like us, wouldn't they all be in danger? What should we do? We need to warn them!" Tamina urged, her voice filled with urgency.
As Tamina spoke, Anda's thoughts immediately turned to Leyvi. She hadn't expected their journey to the Mystic Realm to involve them in a potential disaster of this scale. The weight of the situation settled heavily on her shoulders.
"Okay, human ladies. Calm down, calm down," Lapin said, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "If you go to the tree, you'll be fine. The tree has been inactive for a long time. It's in a deep slumber, trying to evolve to the next level. Even if you gather around it, it won't react at all. Why? Because you're too weak. It only wakes up and goes after someone like me—someone who might have a chance to disturb its evolution. That's why I've been hiding up here all this time. If I set foot on the ground, it could detect me."
What do you think?
