Chapter 478: Chapter 479: Industrialization of Magic, Magic Industrialization
Thinking of this, Lide couldn’t help but smile. Researching godhood seemed like no pressure for him at all.
Divine beings were extremely mysterious to outsiders; it was not an exaggeration to describe them as untouchable and inscrutable.
But for him, what untouchable nonsense—he had personally slaughtered his fair share of divine beings.
Moreover, Dawn City had another Destiny Goddess from a multi-dimensional plane, who knew everything; to her, becoming a god was trivial…
So for him, while other people considered godhood an insurmountable challenge, he merely needed to ask someone casually.
Perhaps, this was life… Only a knowing king is truly wise.
After thinking briefly, Lide didn’t dwell too deeply and shifted his gaze to the two divine corpses before him;
After the Divine Godslayer Dagger consumed the souls of the Centaur God and the God of Murder, one could distinctly feel the dagger’s power increase.
Following the deaths of the two divines, their power began to dissipate uncontrollably; however, the Divine Statuses carrying the Divine Position and Divine Power showed no changes and still peacefully resided within their bodies.
Without hesitation, Lide waved his hand, and a thumb-sized crystal flew out of the God of Murder and Knight, emitting a divine might as great as hell itself, instilling awe in anyone who witnessed it.
Interestingly, Lide sensed two distinct powers rotating within the Divine Status.
One radiated brightness and righteousness; the other was dark and evil.
These two powers were clearly the Divine Positions of the Knight and Murder.
Divine Position involved the privilege of using certain rules, and the higher the control over the Divine Position, the greater the authority one had over those rule-based powers.
Divine Positions varied in strength; powerful ones like Fate, Life, Death, and so forth represented the most fundamental and irreplaceable rules of glory.
Lower-tier Divine Positions included Sun, Ocean, War, and Strength among others, constituting potentially unlimited Divine Positions; most gods with these positions possessed Powerful Divine Power.
Both the Knight and Murder Divine Positions belonged to the lower potential category, such that even removing these rules wouldn’t affect the operation of the world.
Hence, the Knight God had previously possessed weak Divine Power, and the God of Murder, despite having killed countless divine beings, had just barely crossed into Medium Divine Power.
This is the limitation of Divine Positions, very similar to the disparities in bloodline—the stronger the bloodline, the higher the potential, and the more remarkable one’s future achievements.
The same principle applied to Divine Positions; a Knight’s Divine Position, no matter how exceptional, could not compare to a Sun God’s Position—they weren’t even in the same league.
In comparison, Lide’s highest control over the Twilight Divine Position was absolutely several tiers higher than these two.
Twilight was an embodiment of the world’s rules; nothing could escape the phase of twilight, making it an indispensable rule.
Thus, he wasn’t particularly interested in the Divine Positions of Knight and Murder, not only because they had low potential but also because they didn’t suit his combat style.
Lide picked up the crystal-like Divine Status, examining it closely in his hand.
What do you think?
