I Became the Progenitor Vampire

Chapter 315 - 315 317 Golden Spider Egg (9800-word Mega

Chapter 315: Chapter 317: Golden Spider Egg (9800-word Mega Chapter) Chapter 315: Chapter 317: Golden Spider Egg (9800-word Mega Chapter) “Your Majesty, ahead lies the nest of the Cave Spiders, which they’ve established directly atop a vein of Magic Crystal Ore, connecting deep to that half-plane.”

In a dark cavern, Frey, fully restored under the nourishment of Magic Blood, pointed to an underground passage not far away, his expression grave.

“We just need to mask our scent and avoid stepping on those webs; the dull-sensed Cave Spiders will hardly notice our presence.

Once inside the nest, you’ll see the vein of Magic Crystal Ore.

I’d wager that the sight inside will take you by surprise.”

Lide took a deep look at Frey, surmising that something inside had rattled him; otherwise, this typically aloof second-generation Bloodline wouldn’t be so agitated.

This mission, he had only allowed Frey to lead the way, leaving Castro, Withered Bone, and Cap to guard the entrance of the underground passageway.

Here, his presence along with Frey’s was sufficient; he was here to verify information, not to hunt Cave Spiders.

“No need for more talk, lead the way.”

After speaking, the canines in Lide’s mouth slowly elongated, and the handsome bat wings on his back unfurled slightly.

That breathtakingly handsome Bloodline face appeared once more.

Taking a step forward, the space shattered like a mirror, and his figure vanished into thin air.

Watching Lide’s disappearing form, Frey took a deep breath, cast several spells on himself to minimize his presence, and turned to sneak into the lair of the Cave Spider.

Although the Crimson Hunter was powerful, he lacked skills to conceal his form and had to rely on magic and the most primitive methods to infiltrate.

Once Lide entered the Dimension Plane, everything around him seemed veiled by a thin curtain, much like viewing the world from inside a mosquito net in his childhood.

Quiet, desolate, that was the melody of the Dimension Plane.

He watched as Frey adeptly used the terrain to evade the patrolling Cave Spiders, progressing deeper step by step.

The dark underground passage seemed like a maze with no end.

The dark space, the claustrophobic environment, the stench and musty air, all felt oppressively suffocating.

Especially the Ghost-faced Spiders crawling out intermittently from various hidden caves, their distorted and twisted features casting a veil of terror over everything.

Armed with experience from last time, Frey’s infiltration this time was smoother, perfectly evading detection by the Cave Spiders.

Lide, needless to say, with his achievement of Level 18, merely needed to hide within the Dimension Plane, and not even the Extraordinary Ghost Spider Queen of this nest could likely detect him.

Unimpeded wherever he went.

Frey navigated through one shadowy, narrow passage after another, evading wave after wave of Cave Spiders.

It took a full half of a Sunshine Hour before the scene changed anew.

Upon reaching the intersection of several caves, Frey’s eyes lit up with excitement.

Turning his head, he carefully examined for a moment, found a fine scratch on the rock wall, and without hesitation, directly crawled into the hidden passage next to the scratch.

This was a passage only wide enough for one person, too narrow for the Cave Spiders to enter.

After covering a distance of a hundred blades, Frey abruptly halted, turned his head to look back at the empty space, and pointing ahead at the forthcoming passage, his voice carried an irrepressible excitement,

“Your Majesty, below lies the vein of Magic Crystal Ore.

By the Creator God above, I’d wager that you will be immensely surprised.”

Seeing Frey’s slightly nervous and excited expression, Lide’s mouth twitched a little — was all this necessary?

With a wave of his hand, the space in front of him shattered, revealing his handsome, statuesque form within the narrow and dark passage.

Frey respectfully cleared the way, gesturing towards the exit just a few steps away.

Lide, somewhat amused, advanced a few steps, leaned forward slightly, and looked towards the Magic Crystal Ore vein as Frey had mentioned.

But just that one glance stirred a profound shock within him.

What lay before him almost transcended his understanding of a Magic Crystal Ore vein.

They were in a vast underground space, resembling a miniature version of the Underworld or a beehive.

The irregular rock walls of this underground space stretched about two thousand blades long, a thousand blades wide, and five hundred blades high.

The distance from the passage where Lide stood to the opposite rock wall was about two thousand blades, the upper region riddled with densely packed passages, within which menacing and grotesque Cave Spiders crawled back and forth.

Anyone with a fear of tight clusters would feel chills down their spine and curdle at the toes upon seeing this.

The scene resembled the Extreme Evil of Hell, those dense and fierce monsters even more terrifying than demons.

But that wasn’t the focus—the real point of interest was the floor of this underground space.

Brilliant, a sheet of crystal-clear brilliance.

Under the dim illumination of fluorescent plants on the cave ceiling, the ground was covered with Magic Crystal Stones, endless as piles of diamonds and crystals.

Some piles of Magic Crystal Stones even stood a few blades high, their shimmering brilliance made this underground space seem as if the stars themselves were twinkling.

The thick fluctuation of Magic Power made this underworld ten times more abundant in magic than the outside world.

From a bird’s-eye view, the lustrous sea of Magic Crystal Stones could drive anyone insane.

Even though Lide was prepared, the sight of these mountains of Magic Crystal Stones still astounded him.

It resembled the treasure hoard of the giant dragon Smaug in Earth’s classic movie “The Lord of the Rings,” shocking to the core.

The only difference was that instead of gold coins, there were Magic Crystal Stones pulsing with magic fluctuations, which held even greater value.

At this moment, this boundless wealth lay before Lide, seemingly at his disposal.

It had to be said that Frey made a lot of sense.

They had to face off against the Cave Spiders that occupied this place in earnest.

No one could reject such a rich vein of Magic Crystal Stones.

No one!!

If a Secret Silver Vein could prompt two empires to wage war,

Then such a rich vein of Magic Crystal Stones could make two empires deploy all their power and stake everything on the line.

This could influence the fate of nations.

At this moment, Lide had only one feeling.

The future was right in front of him.

Dawn City’s chance for rapid development was in the Spider Nest.

Once Dawn City seized this place, everything would change.

Lide took a deep breath, forcibly calming the excitement in his heart, and regained his composure.

He turned to look at Frey, who was equally ecstatic, and spoke in a deep voice,

“Frey, have you only scouted this area? Are there more veins around here?”

Usually, such a wealthy main vein was likely to have associated veins.

However, even just this vein of Magic Crystal Ore was enough to drive one insane; what surfaced was often just the tip of the iceberg, the exposed veins were far from all there was.

The real bulk was still hidden underground.

Lide could distinctly sense an energy as vigorous as a volcanic eruption hundreds of blades beneath the surface.

He couldn’t estimate the amount of Magic Crystal Stone.

“No wonder it attracted the Cave Spiders’ half-plane space anchor. If this energy were not deep underground, in a labyrinthine channel, it would have attracted countless observers long ago.

Perhaps even the Black Dragon in the depths of the swamp would forcibly occupy this place.”

Lide felt somewhat relieved; had the group of Cave Spiders not suddenly emerged on the surface and killed the miners in Giant Valley, he might have taken a long while to explore the underworld.

Moreover, if Frey hadn’t advanced to level 15 on time, using his powerful ability to evade most of the Cave Spiders’ detection and find their nest,

He might never have known about this underground space hiding earth-shattering secrets.

Perhaps a few years later when exploring the underworld, he might have discovered it, but by then the Magic Crystal Ore might have been heavily mined by the Cave Spiders.

At this moment, Lide suddenly felt as if he was pushed by the Goddess of Luck?

This sensation of about to strike it rich… was exhilarating.

Hearing Lide’s words, Frey nodded affirmatively,

“Your Majesty, this underground space is the main vein, and there are three other rich derivative veins around, although they don’t contain as many Magic Crystal Stones, they still qualify as medium-sized veins.

This is just what I’ve discovered; we still need a professional prospector to find out if there are more.”

Lide slightly nodded, a thoughtful look flashing in his eyes.

The moment he saw the Magic Crystal Vein, there was no question of whether to battle the Cave Spiders; the only consideration was how Dawn City would take over this super-rich vein.

Here, was the future.

The value of this vein was enough for him to go all in.

“Take me to the half-plane’s space portal.”

Suppressing the throb within his heart, Lide swiftly withdrew from his excited emotions and regained his usual calm.

His deep and dark eyes brimmed with light.

He had only two matters to attend to in the Spider’s lair. The first was to determine whether the Magic Crystal Ore Vein was worth his bet,

and the second was to investigate, after confirming the first, his current concern—the Extraordinary Level Ghost-faced Spider Queen.

As the ultimate existence of the Cave Spider race, Lide could not fathom the true strength of the Ghost-faced Spider Queen.

He needed to thoroughly explore and also confirm whether that half-plane truly had limitations on Extraordinary Lives, as Frey had investigated.

Naturally, Frey wouldn’t lie, but he was only Level 15 and wasn’t adept in Space Magic. Therefore, it was normal for there to be gaps in his information; Lide had to personally verify it to be at ease.

This matter affected his decisions, which in turn directly determined the fate of Dawn City.

Although Lide wasn’t adept in Space Magic either, owning the Land of Bone-Burying allowed him to see many nuances that outsiders often missed.

“Yes, Your Highness. Follow me.”

Frey quietly turned and headed in another direction.

Lide once again stepped into the Dimension Space, and the two did not disturb the Cave Spiders mining Magic Crystal Stones in the underground space.

Ten minutes later.

Frey stopped in a dark, narrow underground passage, the Level 15 second-generation Bloodline pointing outwards several hundred blades away.

His expression was complex.

“Your Highness, that is the space gate to the half-plane…”

Lide didn’t exit from the Dimension Plane but continued observing within the Dimension Space.

In the Dimension Space, he could clearly see, not far away in space, a series of pits had appeared.

Those pits resembled black holes, causing the space of the Dimension Plane to collapse directly.

The space gate to the half-plane wasn’t just one; on that rock wall, there were densely packed dozens of space gates of varying shapes and sizes, much like a honeycomb.

“Frey, you must immediately evacuate from the Spider Nest.

Remember, if I don’t return within a day, you immediately need to lead the Bloodline out of the Underworld, letting Captain Kapu continue building defensive works with the Beastman.”

It wouldn’t matter if the Beastman were gone; they could always pull in another group from Dwarf Valley, but the Bloodline was different; it was his foundation, which needed to be preserved as a priority.

After all, the Spider Plane harbored an Extraordinary Existence, and Lide wasn’t sure he could return unscathed.

However, for the sake of these riches in the Magic Crystal Ore Vein, which were enough to drive one mad, he had to take the risk.

And it couldn’t just be called a risk, for even if he died this time, it would merely waste three months.

If, as a result, he could secure an incalculable reserve of Magic Crystal Ore Vein, then the trade would undoubtedly be hugely profitable.

Lide’s goal was clear, and he knew how to execute it.

The risk of this operation was great, but compared to the benefits, it was worth it.

“Yes, Your Highness.”

Frey bowed with his hand on his chest, and then the somewhat aloof second-generation Bloodline immediately turned and left.

He naturally knew about Lide’s rebirth talent, so he didn’t worry too much.

As a Bloodline, death was all too common.

It was just that usually, they were the executioners bestowing death upon others.

Lide watched Frey’s disappearing figure and shook his head with a slight amusement.

At this moment, he felt as though he had returned to the state he was in when he first entered the period of Glory.

Back then, his destiny was unknown, and he had to struggle in preparation to resist the players that were soon to come.

Now, although the setting had changed, the meaning was fundamentally the same.

He also had to strive for the sake of Dawn City.

Looking at the space gate in front of him, which resembled a black hole, Lide’s heart slowly quickened, and a hint of excitement rose in his eyes.

This was still his first time venturing alone into an adventure since arriving in Glory without any subordinates.

Moreover, on the other side of the space gate, there might very well be an Extraordinary being preparing to hunt all outsiders.

Any slight mishap this time would result in the delightful embrace of death, and being visited by the Death God was not a pleasant experience.

In the void of the Dimension Plane, Lide walked towards the Space Gate.

Beside him, Cave Spiders buzzed back and forth, their unique life energy fields preventing Lide from passing through them like a shadow; he could only sneak through the gaps.

The Space Gate leading to the Spider Plane was on a rock wall, looking like irregular cave openings.

Continuously, Cave Spiders crawled in and out, transporting freshly mined Magic Crystal Stones to the Spider Plane.

The closer Lide got, the more he could feel the Plane Power emitting from the spatial fissures. In Dimension Space, he couldn’t pass through the Space Gate—he had to leave the Dimension Plane first.

Moments later, Lide arrived at the least conspicuous Space Gate at the bottom of the rock wall.

He halted his steps.

Peering through the Space Gate to the other side, a thin mist seemed to obscure his vision, making it impossible for Lide to see any signs of what lay beyond.

Lide took a deep breath.

His body instantly left the Dimension Plane, flickered, and he stepped directly into the Space Gate.

Nearby, several Ghost-faced Spiders abruptly paused, their heads turning in unison towards where Lide had vanished—they had just sensed an aura that didn’t belong to them.

But now, there were no traces left outside the Space Gate; the strange aura seemed more like an illusion.

After a moment, detecting no external threats, the Ghost-faced Spiders turned back and resumed their unfinished tasks.

Sigh~

As Lide passed through the Space Gate, his body felt as though it had broken through a thin layer of paper, experiencing a slight restriction, but this sensation disappeared after he crossed.

Once he entered the half-plane controlled by Cave Spiders, he made no pause and tore through space, re-entering the Dimension Plane.

At this moment, Shadow Blade, his potent Skill, became the best tool for his infiltration.

Only after entering the Dimension Plane did Lide have time to observe this half-plane.

His first impression of the Spider Plane was—majestic.

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, Lide would have struggled to imagine such a breathtaking spectacle existed in this world.

Mountains hung upside down.

Nearby, the peaks resembled upside-down hammers, big at the top and tapering down.

Even more bizarre, some mountains floated in mid-air, without any support.

Had the scene not been gloomy, even bearing a somewhat spine-chilling horror, Lide would have questioned if he was in some mythical eastern paradise.

Between the floating mountains, connected by spider webs.

A dense network of spider webs turned into corridors in the sky.

Almost no Cave Spiders walked on the ground; most crawled on the webs.

The sturdy webs were strung with massive spiders, a chilling sight.

The scene was too disgusting and horrifying.

Lide’s view was mostly blocked by the floating mountains and webs.

But after careful observation, he could still make out a few details.

Besides the omnipresent spiders and the floating mountains, he keenly felt the chaos of this world.

It wasn’t just any chaos, but a turmoil of Plane Rules and Plane Power.

Like a mess of tangled ropes, it was impossible to distinguish the beginning from the end.

Compared to the orderly Land of Bone-Burying, the Spider Plane felt like an anarchic mess of no rules and no one to oversee the Plane Power.

Because of this chaos, the Plane Power wasted away unrestrained, causing mountains to float—an extravagant waste of Plane Power.

Lide gave a wry smile and shook his head, inexplicably feeling a bit envious.

This half-plane must have been a vast Plane before, otherwise, the residual Plane Power wouldn’t be so intense; such reckless waste seemed to have no significant impact on the whole Plane.

Compared to that, the Land of Bone-Burying seemed pitifully sorrowful.

“So poor…”

Lide now felt a bit like a family lacking food while a rich man casually fed meat to dogs.

After observing a while longer without further thoughts, he began exploring this Plane ruled by Cave Spiders.

Unidentified fungal mats spread across the ground, with surrounding Cave Spiders continuously transporting Magic Crystal Stones from outside.

And most of the Magic Crystal Stones transported by the Cave Spiders were heading in one direction.

Lide’s mind flickered, and he followed the cave spiders as they moved forward.

Snaking through, after passing dozens of floating peaks, his view suddenly brightened, revealing a stunning scene before him.

A basin, flanked by three tall mountains, was filled with Magic Crystal Stones.

And these Magic Crystal Stones had piled up into hundreds of small hills, covering the entire area within a thousand-blade radius.

The highest pile in the center was fifteen blades tall and composed entirely of human-head-sized Magic Crystal Stones.

These piles of Magic Crystal Stones twinkled with specks of light, like stars in the nighttime sky, dazzling to behold.

Lide recognized them at a glance—they were the highest-level Star Magic Crystal Stones.

Seeing this scene made him gasp in astonishment.

He finally understood why the underground space inhabited by the cave spiders was so vast.

It had been forcibly carved out.

How many Magic Crystal Stones did that vein really contain? Mined by cave spiders so extensively yet still so rich.

Thinking this, Lide wished he could immediately return to Dawn City and dispatch all the troops to seize that Magic Crystal Mine.

“This must be the storage warehouse of the cave spiders, right?”

After calming his emotions, Lide continued to observe this treasure vault, still amazed by the value it contained.

Setting aside everything else, the value of that pile of brilliant Star Magic Crystal Stones was indescribable.

They were a rare treasure that money could hardly buy.

Star Magic Crystal Stones are essential for setting up high-level Magic Arrays.

And Dawn City also needs Star Magic Crystal Stones to create Divine Gifted Holy Armor…

Lide took a deep breath, suppressing the impulse to seize all the Magic Crystal Stones right then.

The Extraordinary Ghost-faced Spider Queen lurking somewhere would not allow it, and even if he could seize them, his System Space couldn’t hold so many Magic Crystal Stones.

Even just one pile wouldn’t fit.

At that moment, Lide sincerely felt a sense of loss. If the Land of Bone-Burying could extend here…

Taking just one-third would keep Dawn City worry-free about Magic Crystal Stones for three years.

Hiss, hiss~

Just as Lide was about to enter this open-air vault, he suddenly felt a chilling sense of crisis.

His form retreated sharply, moving far away from the range of the vault.

Moments after he left, a grotesquely gigantic spider appeared in his field of vision.

That spider stood eight blades tall and was an exaggerated twenty blades long, covered in black fur, its body emitting a slick glow, its bones indescribably hard.

Its head bore a distorted, horrific visage, chilling to behold.

The Ghost-faced Spider Queen, that Extraordinary existence.

Even a Bone Dragon with an eighteen blade wingspan, in front of this Ghost-faced Spider Queen, would seem minuscule.

A complex gravity filled Lide’s eyes.

His entire body seemed to warn him, Danger, extreme danger.

Only by retreating a thousand blades away did that feeling slightly diminish.

He could clearly sense the power emanating from the Ghost-faced Spider Queen.

In Dimension Space, he saw terrifying energy fluctuations arising.

Normally, with Level-15 top combat power, he could approach within ten blades, but facing this Ghost-faced Spider Queen, he felt that even within a hundred blades, he could be directly discovered by it.

He opened the attribute panel, but the information displayed left him somewhat helpless.

Ghost-faced Spider Queen

???

???

Question marks, other than the name, all were question marks.

Even having reached level 18, he still couldn’t access more information.

The greater the difference in strength, the less one could see.

Transcendent creatures were indeed not something he could confront directly now.

However, Lide didn’t retreat; instead, utilizing his Advanced Danger Perception talent, he carefully maintained a relatively safe range to observe the Ghost-faced Spider Queen, whose level was unknown.

After a moment, the terrifyingly large Ghost-faced Spider Queen, reached the area filled with Magic Crystal Stones. The swath of crystals seemed to be her resting nest. Her eight limbs slowly drew together as she gently lay down among them and peacefully fell asleep.

The energy emitted by the Magic Crystal Stones were consumed by her like a tide.

Due to their abundance, the Ghost-faced Spider’s consumption speed wasn’t fast, but even so, to Lide, the amount of energy she absorbed seemed excessively extreme.

A fist-sized Star Magic Crystal Stone contained enough energy to release a Five Circle Magic.

And that heap of Star Magic Crystals, piled high like a mountain, was capable of releasing thirty to fifty Forbidden Curses without any problem.

Watching the Ghost-faced Spider Queen enjoying herself there, Lide felt somewhat like he was looking at a rich tycoon.

After observing for a short while and noticing no further actions from her, Lide, who was thousands of blades away, didn’t linger any longer and quietly retreated.

He couldn’t carry these treasures away, and he wouldn’t have been able to fit much into his System Space either.

Gathering information was his main goal today.

When his great army arrived, everything here would become his spoils of war.

Just a Magic Crystal Stone for sleeping, right?

Eventually, he could use Magic Crystal Stones to build a tower sky-high for this Ghost-faced Spider Queen to see…

But a Sky Tower seemed boring; maybe he should just build a statue of the Goddess of Luck instead, yeah, the one with a short skirt…or perhaps, without one?

Having confirmed the position of the Ghost-faced Spider Queen, Lide acted much bolder.

He wandered throughout this world with incomplete rules.

He also encountered many other spiders he hadn’t seen before.

Such as the Seven-Colored Poison Spider, reaching Level 15, colorful all over, capable of spitting deadly poison from its abdomen,

The giant-bodied Shellback Spider, covered with a hard layer of bone armor,

And the Magic Spider, with a head larger than its abdomen and huge eyes, capable of launching spirit attacks…

A myriad of peculiar kinds, completely refreshing Lide’s understanding of spiders.

Of course, all these special spiders belonged to the Cave Spider category.

Or, it could be said that other higher-level spiders all evolved from Cave Spiders.

However, other types of spiders were rare, only the Ghost-faced Spider was most abundant and had the greatest evolutionary potential.

After roaming around the spider’s nest, Lide gained a more direct understanding of the strength of this opponent.

Powerful was the best descriptor.

This plane, occupied by Cave Spiders for an unknown length of time, had long become a paradise for spiders.

To wrestle a Magic Crystal Ore Vein from these creatures, he’d need to be prepared for a prolonged battle.

Because what he was facing was half a plane of Cave Spiders.

Their numbers were beyond counting.

Lide finally took flight around the Spider Plane for a while.

After spending 10 Sunshine Hours, he barely managed to discern the range of this plane.

Since it was an irregular half-plane, the details were uncountable, but Lide estimated that the plane was approximately 500 kilometers long and 200 kilometers wide, easily over ten times stronger than the Land of Bone-Burying, which was merely the size of a thousand blades’ diameter.

Wherever he went, his eyes met with spiders almost everywhere.

As numerous as the stars in the sky.

The spiders’ main food source was the fungal mats on the ground. It seemed these mats grew by absorbing the free energy in the air.

A very simple food chain; beyond that, there were no other life forms here.

Another thing Lide noticed was that the rules of this half-plane were crumbling, and within a hundred years, the plane would completely break down, just like the former Bone-Burying Plane.

A plane that had entered its age of decline and death.

However, regarding this, Lide could only shake his head as its impending collapse hardly mattered to him anymore.

A hundred years later? Never mind a hundred years, even three years from now, the Magic Crystal Ore Veins would have been entirely consumed by the countless, continuously excavating Cave Spiders.

By then, what more would concern him?

The only good news was that he hadn’t sensed a second extraordinary existence in the Spider Plane for the time being.

It seemed that birthing one extraordinary being was the limit with the residual power of this plane.

But what concerned Lide the most was—in addition to that extraordinary being, there was a large number of spiders above level 15 in the Spider Plane.

If Frey’s detected information was correct and the extraordinary truly couldn’t leave this half-plane, then the top combat power above level 15 would be his biggest stumbling block.

No one knew how much power a plane that had existed for tens of thousands of years had accumulated.

Moreover, with such a large base number of Cave Spiders, even if there was one level 15 born out of 100,000 Cave Spiders, with that huge number, they could exert immense pressure on Dawn City.

The level 15 combat power he now possessed barely reached double digits, which was far too few compared to the other side.

Thinking of this, Lide couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

“Indeed, it’s not as simple as I imagined.

To occupy this extremely rich resource point, it seems I might have to use all my strength to stand a chance of winning.”

His deep eyes gradually became solemn.

“But given the richness of this Magic Crystal Vein, no price is too high to pay.

This is the chance for the rise of Dawn City.

No one can stop the strides of Dawn City progressing, no one at all.”

His gaze was filled with unshakable determination; once he set his mind on something, he would carry it out in the most resolute way.

No one could shake his will.

After confirming that he couldn’t detect any more useful information in a short period of time, Lide returned quickly to the vicinity of the Space Gate using the markings he had initially left behind.

Once he got to the Space Gate to reconfirm his bearings, he turned and entered the Spider Plane once again.

Before leaving, he had one more crucial thing to do—confirm whether the Extraordinary Ghost Spider Queen truly could not leave this plane.

Frey had already roughly sketched out the route to the Spider Egg Chamber before Lide entered.

Lide quickly identified his goal and started to act.

An hour later, although there were a few deviations in the route, Lide had arrived at the egg chamber as Frey had described.

It was a floating mountain suspended in the sky,

much larger than Lide had anticipated.

In fact, after exploring this plane for more than ten hours, this was the largest mountain he had encountered.

Standing just a bit closer, it was impossible to see its entirety; hanging in the air, it was particularly breathtaking.

And this mountain was linked to surrounding mountains by dense, white spider webs.

The scene looked like some apocalypse mythology painted by followers of an Evil God.

Countless giant spiders crawled on the white webs spread across the sky, their fierce appearances enough to startle even the mightiest warriors, and the floating mountain seemed like prey caught by spider webs, wrapped round and round.

Lide stared deeply at this mythical scene for a long time without a word.

A moment later, a Ghost-faced Spider passing by with a Magic Crystal Stone snapped him back to reality.

Shaking his head, he didn’t think too much and slowly followed the Ghost-faced Spider.

Perhaps because Frey had inadvertently intruded here before, the Cave Spiders were quite vigilant now.

From time to time, he saw spiders above level 15, and some important passages were guarded by magic spiders with heads larger than their stomachs, emitting strong spiritual power to check their surroundings and prevent the entrance of foreign enemies.

Lide didn’t pay much attention to this, as Shadow Blade had a very powerful feature—Shadow Blade: After transforming into a Bloodline, one could enter the Dimension Space, immune to detection by anything below Divine Level…

Thus, as long as he didn’t intentionally approach them, the likelihood of being discovered was virtually zero.

Smoothly passing through the passage wrapped in spider webs, Lide entered the interior of the mountain.

Upon entering, his eyes sharply narrowed, confronted with a scene that could make anyone with claustrophobia’s skin crawl.

Before him was a space about ten blades high and a hundred blades in length and width.

Around this space, spider eggs were densely packed, each attached to the rock walls by spider silk.

Those translucent spider eggs, glowing with a ghostly green light, were scattered haphazardly like cobblestones, and that was just one space.

Looking upward, one could see this hollowed-out peak, honeycombed by cave spiders into thousands upon thousands of spaces.

And every space was filled with spider eggs.

Despite being mentally prepared, Lide still couldn’t help but take a deep breath at such a sight.

This race that had survived for countless millennia was indeed much more powerful than Dawn City.

Even just the spider eggs here were enough to astonish anyone.

Even if all the spiders outside met their demise, the enemy could still replenish their military forces in a short time.

No wonder these cave spiders could venture to the surface to explore, their foundation was solid to a certain degree.

A bit more pressure rose within Lide’s heart.

The enemy of Dawn City this time was unprecedentedly powerful.

But the greater the pressure, the higher his spirits soared, firing up the indomitable perseverance within his Bloodline.

Cowardice was never in his character.

The cave spiders were indeed powerful, but… Dawn City was no longer that weak entity.

With bayonets drawn, only through battle would victory or defeat be known.

After slightly regaining his composure, Lide continued exploring the hollowed-out mountain.

The eggs of the Ghost-faced Spider Queen were his target today.

Finding the eggs laid by the Ghost-faced Spider Queen was not difficult, one only needed to head towards the most heavily guarded core area.

After several misdirections in the hatching chambers, Lide spent two Sunshine Hours and finally reached the core area.

He confirmed his target at first glance, seeing as it was a cave guarded by twelve Level 15 Magic Spiders.

It was no surprise for a race that occupied half a plane, even the gatekeepers were twelve Level 15s. Thinking about his own Blood Pool which now lacked even a single Level 15, Lide couldn’t help but grind his teeth.

The mental power of the fifteen Magic Spiders linked into a net, and to enter the hatching room, one must pass through their mental network.

Lide raised an eyebrow slightly, with a more serious look in his eyes as he completely concealed his aura, pushing the immunity to detection attribute of Shadow Blade to the extreme.

Inside the Dimension Space, Lide silently slipped past the twelve Magic Spiders.

As Lide passed by, the group of Magic Spiders suddenly lifted their heads in unison, looking around as if they sensed a different presence.

Their mental power spread fiercely, checking every speck of dust in the space.

Yet they detected nothing.

It wasn’t until after Lide’s figure had entered the spider hatching room that these Magic Spiders felt the strange presence dissipate. After observing carefully again and confirming no external enemy was present, they slowly laid down comfortably on the spider web attached to the rock wall.

At this moment, Lide had successfully stepped into the Spider Queen’s hatching room.

Upon seeing the contents inside, he immediately showed a hint of pleasant surprise.

Magic Crystal Stones, covering the ground, each shimmering with a star-like brilliance.

The space, more than twenty blades in length and width, was entirely filled with Star Magic Crystals.

But that wasn’t the key point; the focus was the central area, where twelve pale gold spider eggs were laid.

Spider Queen’s Egg

Status: Incubating

Explanation: An Extraordinary Level Ghost-faced Spider Queen, having consumed most of its strength to produce these eggs, from their birth, they have been bathed in a rich Magic Power, undergoing some marvelous transformations.

Though not having many attributes listed, the simple explanation gave Lide the feeling of having stumbled upon a treasure.

Twelve of them…

Lide gazed at the pale gold spider eggs, and took a deep breath.

But just as he was about to collect these twelve gold spider eggs, each half a blade in diameter, into his System Space, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a dark, inconspicuous orb beside the eggs.

Lide approached it curiously, it was a half-buried thing in the Magic Crystal Stones, with just half a pointy grey orb visible.

It looked like some metallic rock but also resembled some kind of biological egg.

“Is this also an egg produced by the Spider Queen?”

Lide squinted slightly, instinctively opening the attribute panel.
