Chapter 401
A gentle breeze blew over the wide field. The grass swayed gently in the soft tailwind.
- Whooo!
A secret and sharp gust of wind approached through the soft breeze. The heightened senses didn't miss it. Daera, narrowing her eyes, twisted her waist.
Without a sound, a hole was created in the wind. The wind that passed her waist flew behind her and, changing its trajectory, targeted her back.
Though there were no eyes on her back, she could feel the trajectory. Bang! The wind and arrow shattered against the swung arm.
‘One down.’
That trajectory was just one among dozens.
Had the first shot calculated the trajectory? Arrows that had been circling the area suddenly swarmed at once.
The trajectories became a chaotic tangle.
The arrows were already tangled with the wind, making it difficult to pinpoint them precisely. With narrowed eyes, it wasn’t easy to pierce through them one by one.
- Sssst!
Lightning flickered in Daera's eyes.
Her senses sharpened further.
The world within her sight slowed down. The wind that stuck to her skin was now interpreted in great detail. The brainwave rising up her spine helped her predict the path.
Both arms moved like a comb of rain. Whoosh! Her hands, fists, palms, and elbows—various parts of her body intercepted the incoming wind, causing bursts of air to explode out.
It wasn’t just her arms moving.
She adjusted her stance, changing positions with each strike from the wind, kicking and twisting her legs to scatter the gusts of air.
Two, four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two...
“Last one!”
Boom! Her right hand, gripping the air tightly.
In her metallic grip, a real arrow was caught. Daera smiled slightly as she saw the trembling arrow.
“I won again this time.”
“How on earth do you catch all of them like that?”
“Heh, I told you, my senses are good, right?”
Crack! Daera dismissed the arrows and the fierce aura enveloping them, shrugging her shoulders. The low murmur from Lee Hasol was followed by her lowering the bow.
“From the first time I experienced it, I knew, but the more I see it, the more amazing it is.”
“Back then and now... well, the distance was a bit close.”
Having discarded the arrow, Daera shook her head while adjusting her hair.
It had been a simple duel during the freshman welcome event. The arena wasn’t large, so it had been disadvantageous to use a bow.
Even now, it was the same. This grassy field was spacious, but Lee Hasol was shooting from a close range.
If there were enough distance? That’s when Daera would also have difficulty precisely tracking the trajectory.
If she couldn’t see the moment the bowstring was released, the arrows would weave and hide as they closed the distance.
- Huff huff...
- Heh!
- Grrrr...
- Wham!
- Clang!
- Puwuu...
- Baaah?
What do you think?
