Chapter 116
Clana was in a good mood today.
For her, simply walking outside the church felt like a joy. Everything around her was new scenery, new people.
As a Saintess, Clana was beloved wherever she went. At first, the overwhelming attention from others felt a bit burdensome, but she grew accustomed to it and eventually found it pleasant.
Above all, she was currently fulfilling a task assigned by the convent's head nun.
The outside world was beautiful, at least compared to the dreary interior of the church. She wondered if this was what it felt like to have one’s chains removed.
She felt strangely free.
But that feeling didn’t last long.
'What should I do when I'm by myself?'
Clana had never done anything without someone's instructions before.
She’d never learned to think for herself.
Because of this, she wandered aimlessly through the academy grounds. Technically, she was enrolled as a student, but she hadn’t been assigned to any specific department.
Her body held no mana, making it impossible to join the Combat Magic Department, and she was ill-suited for the Swordsmanship Department.
Therefore, Clana was placed in a special department, where attending classes was entirely up to her.
But Clana, who had never made decisions for herself, had no idea what classes to take, or even what she should do once she took them.
This was a consequence of the convent head’s flawed teachings, the result of raising her with misguided education.
Clana was like a small boat adrift on the open sea—without a compass, without a map.
She didn’t know.
She knew nothing of this world because she had never learned anything about it.
All she did was wander.
Beautiful flowers are bound to attract pests.
What do you think?
