Chapter 28: Spiritual Marrow Jade! Recreate the Blessed Land!
As people gradually entered the temple to worship Buddha, Lu Jin’s vajra prayer beads suddenly burst into a radiant Buddhist light.
Tanaka Saya opened her mouth, but before she could speak, she was sealed back into the prayer beads.
Lu Jin gently rolled the prayer beads between his fingers, continuously channeling his spiritual energy into them, nurturing the artifact.
Although this would not enhance the artifact’s power, it could strengthen his connection with it, making it much easier to control.
“There are still two enhancement attempts left.”
Lu Jin rubbed his chin and looked at the two objects before him:
A jade stone covered in cracks.
An ancient bronze oil lamp.
The spiritual essence of these two items was even greater than that of the vajra pestle.
He reached out and picked up the cracked jade stone, examining it closely.
The translucent jade had strands of green silk-like patterns flowing within. Engraved on both sides were mountains, rivers, and streams, making it quite pleasing to the eye.
Unfortunately, a deep crack ran straight through the middle, ruining what would have been a flawless work of art.
For jade, perfection is what determines its value. Even the tiniest flaw can significantly decrease its worth—let alone a crack of this magnitude.
“I wonder what effect an enhancement would have.”
With that thought, Lu Jin casually initiated an enhancement attempt.
As expected, his luck wasn’t great—the first enhancement failed.
Swish!
Without hesitation, he used his final enhancement attempt.
This time, luck was on his side—it succeeded instantly.
A burst of light erupted as the cracked jade stone was completely restored.
Not only was it as pristine as before, but the carved mountains and rivers on its surface also became even more detailed and lifelike.
Feeling the immense spiritual energy emanating from the jade, a flicker of surprise crossed Lu Jin’s eyes.
The moment he touched the jade, waves of gentle spiritual energy surged into his body.
It flowed through his limbs and bones, washing over him like a tide, as if lifting a heavy burden from his body—leaving him feeling light and refreshed.
It was as though he had been reborn.
[Spiritual Marrow Jade]
[The essence of mountains and stones, the marrow of spiritual energy. When placed in the mountains, it can form spiritual veins; when dropped into water, it can transform into a spiritual spring, bringing vitality to all things and blessing the land with natural splendor.]
[Wearing it prolongs life and prevents illness.]
“Hiss—this thing is kinda overpowered…”
Lu Jin raised an eyebrow.
Behind Yakushi Temple was a large mountain, entirely his private property.
If he placed the Spiritual Marrow Jade there, it could transform the entire mountain into a sacred land, potentially nurturing rare spiritual treasures.
That made the jade extremely valuable.
Lu Jin stored the jade away and headed straight to the backyard.
The mountain behind Yakushi Temple wasn’t famous, but it was quite large.
It had a complete ecosystem, towering trees, and even wild beasts roaming about.
To prevent the animals from coming down and harming people, the temple’s abbot from decades ago had built a wall enclosing the entire mountain, forbidding anyone from entering.
The only entrance was through Yakushi Temple’s backyard.
The temple itself was built halfway up the mountain, and its backyard encompassed nearly half of a mountain peak. Part of it was a living area, while another section was rented out as a graveyard.
Deep within the backyard was a sizeable mountain spring.
The water was clear and sweet, flowing down the mountainside, nourishing the entire mountain.
It was the only water source for the entire area.
…
The mountain path was desolate, overgrown with weeds.
Lu Jin arrived at the spring and took out the Spiritual Marrow Jade.
Although carrying it could prolong his life and ward off sickness, he had already stepped onto the path of cultivation.
Even without the jade, he could live a long life, immune to illness.
So, keeping it on him wasn’t particularly beneficial.
On the other hand, placing it in the mountain to nourish the entire land would maximize its value.
Transforming Yakushi Temple into a sacred site would naturally attract more believers, allowing him to harvest more… ‘offerings’.
It was a win-win situation.
With that in mind, Lu Jin placed the glowing jade into the mountain spring.
Plop!
The moment the jade touched the water, the once-gentle stream instantly surged and roared.
Whoosh!
The crystal-clear water cascaded down the mountain, flowing through every corner of Yakushi Mountain.
Lu Jin suddenly felt a strange sensation—the entire mountain seemed to come alive.
It was like a gray and lifeless painting had suddenly been infused with color.
Using his ‘energy vision’ technique, he observed the mountain’s aura.
To his astonishment, the previously unremarkable Yakushi Mountain had undergone a drastic transformation.
Dragons and tigers coiled around its terrain, forming a natural geomantic treasure.
It’s aura was equivalent to a spiritual aura.
Some places have weak auras and poor spiritual aura, causing everything around them to be lifeless and stagnant.
Meanwhile, other places may seem ordinary but contain powerful energy flows, fostering prosperity and producing great talents.
Changes in aura subtly transform everything in the environment.
Previously, Yakushi Mountain was like a stagnant pool of dead water.
But now, with the jade in place, that dead water had been revitalized.
Like the finishing touch in a masterpiece, the entire mountain had been granted spiritual energy.
A strong aura makes the land lush and fertile, and in turn, the land strengthens the aura, creating a cycle of prosperity.
If this process continued, Yakushi Mountain would inevitably evolve into a sacred land for cultivation.
What do you think?
