Chapter 730: A crash? [6]
The wedding hall smoldered with destruction.
The blood-soaked debris, the collapsed walls, the shattered pillars... none of it mattered for Zhao Tian.
What did matter was the last few survivors who still clung to their lives, standing amidst the wreckage with their weapons drawn.
Their bodies were trembling... not from exhaustion but from the sheer dread of facing him.
A man clad in deep violet robes with disheveled silver hair stepped forward.
He had a pair of gauntlets around his arms as he gripped them tightly. Unlike others who had grand techniques, he seemed to have great physical strength.
"Enough of your tricks," He stomped forward, and the ground beneath his feet sank, crushed beneath the sheer force of his physical strength.
BOOM!
With a single step, he vanished.
Zhao Tian’s eyes flickered as the explosive energy from his fist came hurled toward his face.
THOOM!
Zhao Tian tilted his head at the last instant, narrowly avoiding the strike as the very air where he stood exploded outward, sending a shockwave through the ruins.
A crater the size of a house formed beneath them.
But the man wasn’t done.
He twisted his body in the air and his other fist whipped around like a hammer.
Zhao Tian raised his arm, blocking it with the flat of his blade.
CRASH!
Sparks flew where the cultivator’s gauntlets scraped against his blade as the collision of power against sharp steel created a deafening screech.
The man grinned "Not so untouchable now, are you?"
Zhao Tian remained silent and in the next instant, he vanished.
The man’s grin faltered.
SHOOM!
Before he could react, Zhao Tian was already behind him and his sword whistled through the air, aiming straight for the back of his neck.
But the man’s instincts were sharp... he spun, raising an arm in defense.
CLANG!
The blade met the metal of his gauntlet and seeing this, the man’s eyes gleamed.
"Got you."
His knee shot upward, aiming for Zhao Tian’s ribs... but Zhao Tian twisted his body mid-air, narrowly avoiding it.
The man followed up instantly and his palm glowed with compressed energy before he slammed it toward Zhao Tian’s chest.
THOOM!
The moment the palm connected, space itself trembled.
A surge of force exploded outward, warping the hall and shattered everything within a fifty-meter radius.
But there was no impact.
Huh? The man’s eyes widened in shock.
His attack had phased through empty air.
Before the cultivator could react, pain bloomed in his side.
SHLACK!
A deep gash tore through his ribs as Zhao Tian’s sword had already cut through him.
The man stumbled and blood spilled from the wound, but he didn’t fall.
He grinned through the pain "Hah… so you really are a monster."
He spat blood but steadied himself. "But…"
Slamming his foot onto the ground he yelled "I’M NOT DONE YET!"
Golden veins of energy surged through his body and his muscles bulged, and in the next breath—he was gone.
BOOM!
Zhao Tian teleported as he dodged the cultivator’s renewed assault.
Fists tore through the space where he had been mere moments before, sending shockwaves rippling outward.
Zhao Tian reappeared mid-air, hovering above the battlefield as his cold gaze looked down.
Then... he clenched his fingers.
The space around the cultivator collapsed inward.
CRACK!
The man’s eyes widened as his own body froze in place, crushed by an invisible force.
Zhao Tian raised his sword and did a single downward slash.
A thin, seamless line appeared on the cultivator’s chest.
For a moment, he stood there and then his body split apart, bisected perfectly from head to toe.
He was dead before he hit the ground.
The last remaining survivors, witnessing his death, collapsed to their knees.
Some begged.
Some trembled.
Some simply stared in silent terror.
A soft sigh escaped Zhao Tian’s as the pain ripped his body but it is not comparable to the pain he endured in Vampiric High Star, so its easily bearable.
In the next instant, he appeared on the ground in front of Zhou Hanyue.
The princes, princesses, and the Jade Empress took a step back in fear, looking at him.
Meanwhile, Zhou Hanyue slowly raised her head to look at him.
Zhao Tian reached out and his fingers plucked the wedding veil from her face revealing her beautiful face.
They looked at each other for a second but neither spoke anything.
His fingers gently caressed her cheek as he muttered in a soft tone "You are my wife..."
Hearing this, she lowered her head and gave a faint nod "Mhm."
His gaze then flickered to the princes standing there and feeling his gaze, everyone shivered in dread
Their bodies stiffened and their hearts pounded like war drums inside their chests.
The Jade Empress quickly stepped up to protect her children "They did nothing."
However, Zhao Tian walked to them as blood dripped from his sword.
The Empress raised her trembled hands and clasped them to beg him "Please, don’t... they didn’t do anything, Zhao Tian."
"I will do anything; please don’t kill them."
Meanwhile, Zhao Tian raised his hand and grabbed the collar of the eldest prince standing there.
What? Me? The youngman began to cry in fear "B-brother, please, please... Brother, brother."
The Empress’ face went pale and he grabbed Zhao Tian’s hand "P-Please let him go..."
However, Zhao Tian didn’t heed their words and pulled him from there and made him stand in front of the remaining nobles, ministers, and Sect Masters.
Pushing him to the front, Zhao Tian’s gaze flickered around at the people "He will be the next emperor of the Jade Eclipse Dynasty."
"The factions that don’t cooperate with the Royal family will be killed by me personally."
Hearing this, everyone felt a shiver run down his spine and no one objected to his words.
If anyone spoke against him now, their bodies would be piled atop the corpses already littering the floor.
And so... one by one, the nobles, the ministers, the sect masters and everyone lowered their heads.
They bowed.
Not to the prince.
Not to the Empress.
But to the man who now ruled this hall with nothing but his presence.
