Chapter 344: You Got Lost, Did My Mom Do It?
Chapter 344: Chapter 344: You Got Lost, Did My Mom Do It?
Lu Rui and Su Mian didn’t speak; mainly they didn’t know what to say.
If they were to truly speak honestly, the elders would definitely collapse immediately.
Qin Huan is still alive and kicking, so the elders can’t go down now.
“Didn’t Zhanxing say it was just a quarrel?”
“A quarrel? Is it really that simple?”
The old master didn’t believe it: “Qiaoqiao isn’t staying at the old house for the first time; you never worried like this before.”
The old lady frowned and asked Su Mian: “You’re also not right today.”
Su Mian was silent for a moment, then said in a choked voice, “Dad, Mom, we’re just afraid that Qiaoqiao won’t want us.”
Upon hearing this, Lu Rui sighed.
This made the elders even more puzzled—why would they be afraid Qiaoqiao wouldn’t want them if everything was fine?
Could it be they did something wrong?
The old master’s face tensed: “Did you bully Qiaoqiao?”
This question was heartbreaking, especially for Su Mian. Although they hadn’t bullied Qiaoqiao in action, their behavior had still hurt her.
Lu Rui felt this wasn’t a solution, and since the elders had to know eventually, he revealed a little bit.
“It’s because Lu Ting left with her birth mother, and that’s why we are so scared of Qiaoqiao leaving us…”
The elders were dumbstruck by this news.
“Lu Ting’s birth mother is still alive?” asked the old lady, astonished.
“Yes,” Su Mian explained. “Mom, you know who she is too. It’s He Family’s Ya Man.”
The old lady was even more shocked.
The old master was silent for a while, then he sighed, “Don’t take it too hard. After all, that is her birth mother.”
The old master thought the Lu couple was just reluctant to let go of Lu Ting.
Su Mian tugged at the corner of her mouth, giving a bitter smile: “I’m not sad.”
With so many emotions mixed together, she didn’t even have time to feel sad, as she was overwhelmed by a deluge of regret and self-reproach.
Where would there be time to worry about Lu Ting?
“You still have Qiaoqiao,” the old lady said to comfort her.
Her feelings for Lu Ting weren’t deep, so Lu Ting leaving with Ya Man was, at most, a matter for reflection, with no real thoughts on it.
After all, having a blood relationship is ultimately different from not having one.
“We still have Qiaoqiao,” Su Mian said with a saddened look. “And now only Qiaoqiao.”
Lu Rui’s gaze fell on the concerned elders, and his heart ached.
When everything came to light one day, this family was bound to be shattered.
At such an old age, the elders would still have to suffer through this, and Lu Rui couldn’t bear it.
But Qin Huan had made a grave mistake, and they had to seek justice.
Lu Rui couldn’t imagine, on that day, whether his older brother would hate him or the elders would blame him.
So even though he trusted his family, he started to prepare, which is why he sent Jingzhi to Lu Group.
Lu Rui thought things had indeed changed.
He had even begun to guard against his own older brother.
“Dad, Mom…”
Lu Rui swallowed the complex emotions in his heart and said sincerely, “I’m sorry.”
The elders were completely baffled by their family, wondering why out of the blue they were apologizing.
…
Lu Shiran was adjusting his robot in his room when someone knocked on the door.
It was Qin Huan.
“Mom, is something the matter?”
Qin Huan walked in and closed the door behind her, before unleashing a torrent of rebukes.
“What’s wrong with you, I told you to go to the company because it was for your own good, why don’t you ever listen to me?”
Lu Shiran pouted, “For my good? Seems more like it’s for your own good.”
Qin Huan almost couldn’t catch her breath, she was so angry at Lu Shiran.
“Am I really that selfish and self-centered in your eyes?”
Lu Shiran wanted to say yes, but seeing his mother angry, he decided to remain silent and fiddled with the parts instead.
Qin Huan took a deep breath and spoke in a more gentle tone, “If you continue to be so lackadaisical, who will I rely on later? It’s our things, how can we simply hand them over to others? Your father may be confused, but you can’t afford to be as well.”
Lu Shiran muttered under his breath, “Grandpa will definitely give us shares, and then we can just take the dividends. Plus, my little uncle is also grandpa’s son, so how did Lu Group become ours alone?”
Every time Qin Huan tried to brainwash Lu Shiran, she would end up infuriated.
But today, being pushed into a corner by Lu Rui and Su Mian, her sense of crisis intensified.
Her face darkened, especially when she saw Lu Shiran still tinkering with the robot.
In a fit of rage,
before Lu Shiran could react, Qin Huan snatched the robot from his hands and violently smashed it to the ground.
“I told you not to spend all day on these things! I’m telling you, there’s no negotiation this time, you must go to the company to learn, and I’ll talk to your father about it right away.”
Lu Shiran’s pupils constricted sharply, watching the parts scattered on the ground as his eyes quickly reddened. He roared at Qin Huan,
“Do you have any idea how long I worked on that! You ruined it! You smashed it! I was going to compete with it! How could you smash it!”
“From now on, you are not allowed to mess with these things anymore. Starting today, you will learn how to be a qualified successor!”
Qin Huan believed that these distractions were leading Lu Shiran to neglect his duties, and she even regretted not taking action sooner.
Lu Shiran’s breathing became rapid, his eyes welling up with a fog of tears, “In your dreams! I won’t!”
Qin Huan’s voice shook with emotion, “Choose, either this toy or no mother. Are you trying to drive me to my death?”
Lu Shiran was taken aback by Qin Huan’s resolute tone.
He looked at Qin Huan, eyes filled with disappointment and sorrow.
Why push him.
He just wanted to do what he loved was that so wrong?
Qin Huan also felt her blood pressure rise with anger from Lu Shiran’s attitude. After dropping that statement, she turned to go consult with Lu Xian about which path Lu Shiran should take.
Lu Shiran turned his head and wiped a tear with his shoulder, then quietly crouched down.
His vision blurred, and tears slid down his cheeks, falling on the broken parts.
Lu Shiran stared blankly at the pieces scattered all over the ground.
His heart ached in spasms, as though it had a big hole that could never be mended.
It hurt like hell.
His life, his dreams, what did they mean in the eyes of his mother?
Through the blur, a pair of soft hands reached over, carefully picking up the parts.
“Don’t cry.”
Lu Shiran blinked, and the tears that filled his eyes dropped onto those delicate hands.
Qiao Yun looked at the tears on the back of her hand as if they burned, her fingers trembling slightly.
“Don’t cry,” she said sternly.
Lu Shiran’s voice was muffled, “Okay.”
“Here’s a candy, don’t cry.”
Qiao Yun’s face was stern as she opened her palm to reveal a shiny, crystal-clear candy.
Lu Shiran didn’t take it, saying in a low voice, “I’m sorry, it was broken by my mom.”
“It’s okay, as long as you don’t cry, I forgive you.”
Qiao Yun felt somewhat perplexed; if any of her students dared to cry in front of her, she would have already thrown them out.
“But you helped too,” Lu Shiran said with his head hanging down, not wanting Qiao Yun to see him in such a disheveled state.
Qiao Yun was taken aback, realizing that he was so upset because she had helped and now it was broken.
Lu Shiran wiped his tears and looked seriously at Qiao Yun with his reddened eyes, “You getting lost, was it my mom’s doing?”
What do you think?
