Chapter 71
"Is it fixed yet?"
Inside the Imperial Garden Florist.
Xu Zhongsheng directed his question at the cybersecurity expert frantically attempting to restore the compromised system.
The main control room was chilled to near freezing by the air conditioning, meant to keep the equipment cool. Yet, despite the cold, sweat was steadily beading on the bald man’s forehead.
"Mr. Xu, I’ve done everything I can, but there’s no way to fix this. All the databases affected by the virus are destroyed. This Night Laugh Virus doesn’t just wipe chips—it’s devastatingly effective against storage devices too!"
"I trust you! Forget about the destroyed equipment, just make sure it doesn’t spread any further!" Xu Zhongsheng ordered with a low, serious tone.
Regret weighed heavily on him.
Immense, crushing regret.
He cursed himself for his stupidity.
He should never have stirred the pot. Should never have incited Sindra into clashing with the Iron Peak Corporation. At the time, it had been a passing whim—a small move to make things interesting.
If it managed to cause problems for the Iron Peak Corporation, great. If not, no harm done—it was just a harmless distraction, an idle play.
After all, Sindra was a discarded entity now. His former glory was long gone, his strength and influence a pale shadow of what they had been.
But what Xu Zhongsheng hadn’t anticipated…
Was that one minor provocation would lead to the complete ruination of Iron Peak’s headquarters. Worse, it even got their precious heir, Zheng Jiayu, killed!
When the news reached him, his reaction was pure disbelief: “!!!???”
It was like asking someone to grab soy sauce, only for them to demolish the entire soy sauce factory, kidnap the owner’s entire family, and come back saying, "Don’t worry about running out of soy sauce ever again."
Xu Zhongsheng blamed himself. He must not have been pious enough when he and his father visited the Daoist temple last week.
What do you think?
