0122 Luna Lovegood
After mentioning it to Harry and Ron, he walked along the winding path toward the hill.
As the distance closed, the black dot revealed its true form.
It was an oddly shaped round house, like a crooked wizard's hat, with a black roof gleaming in the sunlight and a chimney extending crookedly toward the sky.
Several pots of Bouncing Bulbs were placed at the entrance—magical plants that danced with the wind, their thin stems topped with fluffy yellow flower balls.
Just as Adrian was about to knock, the door suddenly opened by itself.
A blonde girl with carrot earrings and silver eyes stood in the doorway, tilting her head to study him, those eyes seeming to see through to one's soul.
At first glance, Adrian was certain that the girl before him was Luna Lovegood herself.
"Hello," Luna's voice was like a feather floating in the air. "Is there something you need?"
Adrian was somewhat surprised—it seemed Luna had already anticipated his arrival.
"I've come to visit Mr. Lovegood." He smiled.
To let Luna know he wasn't a bad person, Adrian added: "I'm a professor at Hogwarts."
After hearing this, Luna looked him up and down.
Then she stared blankly for a moment, finally focusing her gaze on Adrian as if in a daze.
"?"
Adrian looked at his clothes and asked: "Is something wrong?"
Finally, Luna snapped back to attention, blinking her silver eyes, her voice airy: "You have so many spirits around you... I've never seen so many spirits before."
Adrian instinctively looked behind himself, but of course saw nothing.
He had only heard of Cornish Pixies—iron-blue small creatures that were extremely fond of mischief. Obviously, Luna wasn't talking about those creatures.
Adrian looked at Luna with interest: "What kind of spirits?"
"They float around you like transparent bubbles," Luna traced circles in the air with her finger. "Each one sparkles with different colors inside—so beautiful."
Adrian chuckled—it seemed that in the original story, Luna was someone who loved imaginary creatures.
What were they called... Nargles?
Clearly, Luna was fantasizing again.
Adrian didn't believe there were any colorful spirits following him around.
Just then, Luna suddenly widened her silver eyes, focusing on Adrian's sleeve.
"They're all going into your sleeve now, one after another," she said softly. "Is there something under your clothes?"
There was nothing under Adrian's clothes—if anything, only the Devil's Snare parasitizing on his body.
'Wait, the Devil's Snare?'
With a thought, two Devil's Snare vines extended from his sleeve.
Luna's eyes immediately lit up, as if she had discovered some rare treasure.
"Ah, so that's it..." She reached out and touched the Devil's Snare vines writhing in the air.
The Devil's Snare didn't seem to reject Luna—the vine tips gently touched her fingertips.
This was how Devil's Snare showed affection.
Adrian was quite surprised, as besides himself, Devil's Snare rarely showed such closeness to anyone.
Could Luna have something that attracted Devil's Snare?
"What else do you see?"
Adrian crouched down, looking at Luna curiously.
Luna's eyes sparkled as she said cheerfully: "Actually, sir, the little spirits around you are all going into this vine."
Suddenly, Adrian wasn't sure whether she really saw "spirits" or not.
"Wait," Luna suddenly said, turning gracefully and picking up the pot of swaying Bouncing Bulbs at the door: "Look, those little spirits are going into this too. Ah, another one just went in."
Looking at the Bouncing Bulbs in Luna's hands, Adrian was suddenly stunned.
He seemed to have some clues.
"Eldra."
[I'm here, sir.]
The reply from the Tree of Wisdom appeared in his mind.
"Help me analyze the plant before me."
[Received.]
[Species: Bouncing Bulb] [Level: 1] [Status: Growing (1%)]
Indeed, the Bouncing Bulb's growth progress had become one percent.
In fact, what the Tree of Wisdom called "growth progress" should more accurately be called "mutation" progress.
Generally, when it reached one hundred percent, that was when the plant was influenced by Adrian's ability and developed new characteristics.
Perhaps the "spirits" Luna mentioned were related to Adrian's "plant mutation" ability.
Thinking this, Adrian thoughtfully observed the Bouncing Bulbs in Luna's hands and asked softly: "Are there spirits only around me?"
"Yes, I've never seen such spirits anywhere else," Luna seemed very happy to discuss spirits with Adrian. She tilted her head and continued: "I should put them in my record book—this is a new discovery."
Adrian nodded.
In that case, let him verify his guess about the "spirits" Luna mentioned, to see if they were really related to his special ability.
Adrian took a small bottle from his inner pocket, containing a deep red liquid.
It was Adrian's blood.
He had always maintained the habit of regularly drawing his own blood and preserving it, since his blood was a main component of growth potions.
Adrian slowly pulled out the cork from the glass bottle, and a faint metallic smell spread through the air.
Luna's silver eyes immediately widened, her carrot earrings swaying gently as she stepped back half a pace.
"Oh," she seemed startled, "they're getting so excited..."
"What's happening?" Adrian looked at Luna curiously.
She stared at the bottle opening, then lifted her head: "So many spirits... they're shooting out of the bottle like a fountain..."
While speaking, Luna traced invisible trajectories in the air with her finger: "They're everywhere... ten times more than before... no, a hundred times more..."
Indeed, Adrian's guess was correct.
Luna possessed a special talent.
She could see the manifestation of his "plant mutation" ability—those "spirits" floating around him.
'What an... enviable talent.'
Adrian had always been curious about why he had such an ability and had been researching it constantly.
Now, he had finally found a window through which he could directly observe this ability phenomenon!
Adrian's gaze toward Luna became heated.
Luna's ability was very important to him. Just at that moment—
"Luna, dear, who are you talking to?"
A voice came from inside the house, followed by a series of footsteps.
