Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 562 524: Sword Move as Funeral!

Sun Wukong's gray silhouette had an attack power that was absolutely formidable, and it was stronger, rather than weaker, than Xi Zhao's black silhouette. So, while that punch landed on the Formless Vanishing incarnation of Xi Zhao, it still sent the impostor Xi Zhao flying backwards. After delivering that punch, the gray silhouette slowly dissipated in mid-air as if it had exhausted all its strength. The blowback sent Xi Zhao flying thousands of meters before he finally came to a halt.

The staggered Xi Zhao then reverted back to his Formless Vanishing true form. Upon closer inspection, an astonishing number of cracks had appeared on it. The Divine Weapon that once radiated a strong aura now seemed as dull and lusterless as mortal iron. Aside from barely sensing the weak pulsation of the Formless Divine Power within, the Divine Weapon was now no different from scrap metal. The seemingly ordinary punch from the gray silhouette was actually that formidable.

The Formless Vanishing in Xi Zhao's hand was forged by Dao Zhun from twenty top-level Domain Instruments. It could be said that he had used up nearly all of the Domain Instruments that the Pioneers at the time possessed to finally create this Formless Divine Weapon that slayed the Underworld Venerate. However, as a result, the Formless Divine Weapon broke into two. One part fell into Xi Zhao's hands, who after making tremendous sacrifices, finally reforged it into his own Life-bound Divine Weapon, Formless Vanishing. It could be said that the Formless Vanishing in Xi Zhao's hands and Ling Weiyang's Formless Purple Gold Halberd were already the highest-class Divine Weapons in this Fang Universe.

But even such a top-level Divine Weapon was almost destroyed by the gray silhouette. It was only because Sun Wukong had not reached the Heavenly Venerate Realm that the weapon did not completely break. Exhibiting the combat power of a Heavenly Venerate, despite being at the Eight Patterns Realm, Sun Wukong had definitely become the number one person of the age. The reason behind Sun Wukong's prowess lay entirely in the Five Elements Balance power within his body.

The five extreme Attribute Powers, coupled with Sun Wukong's burning of the Wonderful Bodhi Tree inside his body, combined to skyrocket Sun Wukong's combat power directly to the level of Heavenly Venerate; a miracle to many. But Sun Wukong knew all too well the tremendous cost of such an act. Once this battle ended, the Five Elements Power inside his body would definitely fall into a deep slumber. What pained Sun Wukong the most was the Wonderful Bodhi Tree. It was a gift from his master, Master Zun, yet he was unable to protect it, having instead to use it to unleash the extreme power of the Five Elements.

Trading a Wonderful Bodhi Tree for Xi Zhao's peerless Divine Weapon could not be considered a loss, but it was certainly not a win. However, from the effects caused by Sun Wukong and Xi Zhao's attacks, it was clear that Sun Wukong had suffered a loss. This was the result of the unwary falling prey to the scheming. Sun Wukong did not know what effects the gray and black silhouettes' attack would bring, but Xi Zhao did. Thus, as the attacks from both silhouettes made contact, Xi Zhao had already prepared to use Formless Vanishing to create an external avatar, thereby ensuring his safety from the punch. Nonetheless, the damage to Formless Vanishing made Xi Zhao spit out a mouthful of fresh blood.

As for Sun Wukong, he had not anticipated that the black silhouette would penetrate the gray one to attack him. Although the Divine Bead within his body appeared in time, and Zhibei arrived swiftly, the black silhouette's punch was too terrifying. Zhibei had to use all his power to block it. The Nine-Destruction Copper Coins and the Heaven-Scrying Tortoise Shell were pushed to their limits, and as a result, the black silhouette's punch was blocked.

After blocking the punch, the black silhouette dissipated just like the gray one, but with it also vanished Zhibei's entire right arm. Had Zhibei not promptly used the Nine-Destruction Copper Coins to sever his right arm, it was likely that half his body would have disappeared with it. Moreover, the tortoise shell of the Heaven-Scrying Tortoise Shell in Zhibei's right hand shattered as well. At that point, having lost all combat power and now his defensive ability, Zhibei, the Divine Oracle, was left as a useless individual possessing the cultivation of Nine Patterns Supreme, but without any attack power or defensive power.

Of course, as a Nine Patterns Supreme, Zhibei could still handle opponents from minor worlds below the Golden Core Stage. But in the Divine Kingdom or high-level worlds, he was undoubtedly as good as useless. Fortunately, Zhibei's precognition ability was unaffected, or else he would truly have no use left. Looking at Zhibei, who had lost an arm, Sun Wukong's heart ached. There had been a time when he swore never to let his family and friends suffer any harm, yet he had broken this promise time and again.

His strength was still insufficient. The pain of others' sacrifices for him was, in Sun Wukong's heart, far greater than the pain of his own sacrifices for others. If possible, he would have preferred to take Zhibei's place. Had he been wrong all along? Was the path he had chosen erroneous? Why did it happen like this? Why were there always sacrifices and deaths around him? He harbored no grand ambition of dominating the world, nor any grandiose desires. His only wish was for everyone to live a happy and peaceful life together, without bloodshed or death. Yet, this simple wish seemed even harder to achieve than ruling the entire universe.

Rushing forward, Sun Wukong supported the weakened Zhibei from behind. As he felt the frailty within Zhibei's body, Sun Wukong's rage ignited once again. But suddenly, his heart quivered. Although Sun Wukong did not possess precognition like Zhibei under the state of Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes, he still had an extremely acute sense of danger. Just now, he felt a sudden twinge in his heart – a sensation only triggered by the imminent arrival of extreme danger, much like the crisis he felt when he and the Flame God were attacked by the Thunder Fire Scorching Flame Cannon.

Without hesitation, Sun Wukong grabbed Zhibei's waist and with a burst of strength, hurled him upwards. Then, an invisible, transparent column of light that was too fast for the naked eye passed through where they had been in a flash, aimed straight at Sun Wukong's chest. By the time Sun Wukong sensed the attack, the transparent column of light was less than five hundred meters away. For the incredibly fast light column, a distance of five hundred meters was practically nothing.

Sun Wukong intended to dodge, but it was simply too late; he didn't even have time to activate the reset. The next moment, the pillar of light passed right through him and after blasting a hole the thickness of an adult's arm through the wall behind him, it shot directly toward the void. It's conceivable that this pillar of light could possibly pierce right through the spatial bindings of the Patrolling Celestial World and into the void of outer space. As for what it would ultimately hit or whether it would dissolve on its own, that remains a mystery.

However, what is certain is that this void pillar had claimed a life.

This pillar of light was none other than the attack unleashed by Ming Tiekuang with the Thunder Fire Scorching Flame Cannon at triple the attack power, an attack that could obliterate a Heavenly Venerate realm powerhouse.

As Ming Tiekuang finally unleashed the most powerful shot from the Thunder Fire Scorching Flame Cannon, Rogue Heart Sword Hero also made his move. By then, Rogue Heart Sword Hero had already quietly slipped into the sea created by the Nine Heavens Pure Water. Of course, 'quietly' only applied in relation to Ling Weiyang; as the master of this sea, Sha Wujing felt his presence as soon as he dipped into the water. However, upon realizing the infiltrator was Rogue Heart Sword Hero, he exhibited no surprise.

When Rogue Heart Sword Hero was a kilometer right above Ling Weiyang, he struck. As he did so, he had already informed Sha Wujing through Divine Consciousness Transmission. At this moment, though Sha Wujing's battle spirit surged and he was evenly matched with Ling Weiyang, he was no longer the amnesiac, big-bearded monk from the Ancient Primordial World who would not recognize anyone once a fight commenced. Thus, as soon as Sha Wujing received Rogue Heart Sword Hero's transmission, his figure vanished.

In the place where he had stood, a large boulder now appeared. Such was the advantage of being within the Nine Heavens Pure Water – Sha Wujing could swap places instantaneously with any object in the sea, should he wish to. This move of Sha Wujing greatly surprised Ling Weiyang. The next moment, Ling Weiyang also felt a strong sense of impending crisis arise in his heart. Coupled with Sha Wujing's sudden disappearance, it took virtually no time for Ling Weiyang to realize someone was preparing to strike at him from the shadows.

Just as Ling Weiyang looked up and saw Rogue Heart Sword Hero above him and prepared to defend, Rogue Heart Sword Hero above him had already clenched the Seven-Star Dragon Abyss with both hands and raised it high above his head before bringing it down in an instant. At once, a sword aura like the ashes left by burning flames slashed towards Ling Weiyang. Of course, Ling Weiyang saw the attack coming, and although the attack wasn't fast, he was confident he could dodge it.

With a movement of its four hooves, Ling Weiyang's body shifted ten zhang across the water. However, the ashen sword aura did not continue its descent but vanished instantly. Ling Weiyang's Divine Sense had kept track of the sword aura the whole time, and as soon as it disappeared, he knew something was wrong. This sword aura, while seemingly powerful, turned out to be a feint.

Indeed, as soon as Ling Weiyang reappeared, a black longsword pierced directly through his back and out through his chest, unceremoniously stabbing through Ling Weiyang's heart. The longsword, almost instantly, ignited a force filled with withering and ruination, instantly melting Ling Weiyang's heart into ashes.

This was the true attack of Rogue Heart Sword Hero. Now standing behind Ling Weiyang, Rogue Heart Sword Hero's skin and flesh suddenly began to wither and shrink, as if a great tree had in an instant been deprived of all its moisture. Along with his disappearance, his life force and spiritual power vanished as well.

However, Rogue Heart Sword Hero ultimately did not die. Though his body had withered to that of a centenarian, he was still hanging on to a breath of life, and the source of his life had not been extinguished.

The technique known as 'Burial,' used one's own flesh, life force, and vitality as the catalyst to bury the life of another. (To be continued.
