Chapter 26: Mommy is Riane

Sophie was angry. Surrounded by all these people, she would rather be killed than kneel in front of Cecilia.

But as the crowd pressed closer, she couldn’t escape without doing it.

Someone suddenly pushed her off balance, making her kneel right in front of Cecilia.

Cecilia sneered. "This is exactly where you belong."

Sophie gritted her teeth and replied, "Cecilia, you just wait!"

After that, she got up and ran out.

On the other hand, the crowd had swarmed Cecilia.

"You were so cool! Can I have your autograph? I can tell you’ll become famous one day!"

Even the director was also saying, "No need to participate anymore; just be a judge for my show..."

Surrounded by people, Cecilia only gave a wry smile as she pointed to the side.

"Look, it’s Riane!"

As everyone turned to look, she quickly ran out of the studio.

As she dashed out the door, she brushed past Steven who followed her without hesitation.

She managed to escape everyone thanks to her being pretty fit. However, she had always been directionally challenged and eventually got lost.

While hiding from the people, she kept searching for an exit.

Then, she noticed a figure trailing her.

She sighed. "There’s still another one? And they’re persistent, too."

After that, she looked around and focused on the wall in front of her.

“Too bad, I have no time to waste with you.”

The moment she said that, she swiftly climbed up the wall and leaped over it.

When Steven reached the wall, he watched her disappear over it.

‘This woman is really... Looks like I can only confirm it another time.’

‘But why is her figure so familiar?’

He tried to recall carefully before realizing that her figure strongly resembled a woman caught on his hotel surveillance camera five years ago, who jumped over a wall to leave!

This woman’s identity was becoming increasingly peculiar.

Steven’s eyes darkened at this thought. Meanwhile, Zane was gasping for breath as he pointed to the top of the wall.

"Mr. Lawrence, should we still go after her?"

Steven turned and replied, "No."

He had another way to confirm things.

Cecilia jumped down from the wall. After making sure nobody was following her, she sighed in relief.

"Finally shook them off."

But then, she turned around to find Alex curiously watching her.

"Mommy, what are you doing here?"

Cecilia was startled. She quickly took his hand, thinking he was Emma.

"Mommy should be asking you that, you little rascal. How did you find me here?"

Alex had actually come with Steven to see if his parents’ reconciliation was in progress, but he coincidentally met his fleeing mother.

Fortunately, he and Emma had agreed to keep things discreet by dressing similarly every day.

Due to that, Cecilia couldn’t tell between the two.

Before Alex could answer, Cecilia continued, "I didn’t want to expose my identity as Riane earlier, so I changed my singing voice. However, I almost got caught by them."

Now, it was Alex’s turn to be shocked.

‘What?!’

‘Mommy is Riane?!’

‘So Mommy’s the person Dad has been looking for this whole time!’

Cecilia didn’t notice Alex’s reaction, picking him up and leaving quickly.

Alex promptly sent a message to Emma.

[Sis, change of plans. We need to switch again.]

Back at the hotel, Emma was nowhere around. She had probably gone to Steven’s room.

Alex stared at Cecilia’s computer, wondering how to let Steven know Cecilia’s identity as Riane.

Later in the evening, he finally got a chance when Cecilia went to shower.

He quickly opened her computer. He found the songs she composed as Riane, including a newly made demo.

He thought that Steven wouldn’t believe him so easily if he directly said Cecilia was Riane. As such, he had to use a little trick.

After typing away for a bit, Riane’s song demo was sent out.

Of course, he wasn’t letting people find Cecilia. Using his hacking skills, he ensured only Steven could trace the song’s IP address.

On the other hand, Steven quickly traced the song’s IP address with his computer.

As the map zoomed in, his surprise grew.

Riane was in this hotel!

He stood up and told Zane, "Ready the car. We’re going to the hotel!"

They arrived soon after. Steven kept following the location, inching closer to Riane.

Meanwhile, Cecilia knew nothing of this and was simply showering.

Then, the doorbell rang.

"Ding-dong~"

Alex was excited; they were here!

He eagerly opened the door and exclaimed, "Dad!"
