Chapter 449 - This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [449]

Under the watchful eyes of Lumine and Paimon, Makoto approached Luo Qing, gently pulling him out of Furina's grasp and cradling him in her arms.

Without hesitation, she tilted his head back, pried open his mouth, and unceremoniously shoved the fist-sized clay sphere into it.

"W-what..." Lumine swallowed nervously.

Makoto's method of reviving Luo Qing seemed... less than delicate, and her irritation was unmistakable.

"Makoto..." Ei's gaze rested on Luo Qing, her eyes filled with concern.

"The recovery of his spirit will take longer than that of his body," Makoto said, her tone calm, as though she had anticipated this moment.

"Don't worry. He'll wake up soon enough. And when he does, I'll have a long talk with him about his recklessness."

"Understood..."

The women gathered around Luo Qing, standing protectively at his sides.

Occasionally, their eyes flicked toward Furina, who still sat lifelessly in the chair. It was clear they were assessing her, silently wondering what about her had drawn Luo Qing's attention.

"Um..."

Surrounded by Luo Qing's so-called harem, Lumine felt a pang of guilt.

Though she wasn't entirely sure why Luo Qing had fallen unconscious, she couldn't deny her own role in the events leading up to it.

"I'm sorry, Makoto. And... everyone."

She bowed her head, her voice soft and apologetic.

"It's my fault things turned out this way..."

"No, Lumine. This isn't your fault," Makoto replied, shaking her head gently.

"This was his choice."

As Makoto spoke, Neuvillette descended from the sky, landing gracefully on the stage.

His sharp gaze took in the scene before him—Luo Qing surrounded by women, including the Electro and Dendro Archons, as well as two figures who bore striking resemblances to them.

Do all these women have connections to him?

"Lumine, these people..." Neuvillette began, his curiosity evident.

But Makoto interrupted him before he could finish.

"Pardon our intrusion, Chief Justice Neuvillette," she said politely, her tone steady.

"It seems the authority of water has fully returned to you."

"How do you..."

"That's not important right now," Makoto said, shaking her head.

"What matters is that there are more pressing matters for you to address."

"More pressing matters?" Neuvillette frowned, pondering her words.

The answer came swiftly.

Through the shattered roof of the Opera Epiclese, a crimson light cut through the stormy skies, splitting the rain-soaked clouds.

From the rift in the heavens, a figure emerged—a woman with flowing white hair, her movements deliberate and commanding.

"Is that..."

Lumine's eyes widened in disbelief.

The figure descending from the sky was a hauntingly familiar one—the same she had seen moments before her long slumber.

"The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles..." Lumine whispered, her voice trembling.

Makoto placed a comforting hand on Lumine's shoulder.

"She's not the one you remember," Makoto said softly.

Her gaze shifted to the figure above, her expression calm but resolute.

"She's merely a puppet—a dying fragment of something greater."

Makoto's tone darkened.

"To destroy a god's seat and deceive the Heavenly Principles... such things cannot be done lightly.

"To secure the future... is no simple task."

Makoto turned to Neuvillette, who stood silent, his expression contemplative.

"She has come because of us," Makoto continued.

"If Fontaine is to have a future, we must face this together."

"She's just a puppet," Makoto added, her voice steady. "Erasing her will not disrupt the balance. The true enemy has no interest in us right now."

"A puppet..." Neuvillette's gaze fixed on the figure in the sky.

He finally understood.

Destroying godhood and returning authority to the elemental dragons was a gamble—one that might have provoked the wrath of the Heavenly Principles.

It was a risk they had known might come to pass.

"I see," he said quietly.

With a nod of determination, Neuvillette transformed into a streak of deep blue light, launching himself toward the sky.

After he left, Makoto turned to the other women, her gentle expression tinged with melancholy.

"Ei... Nahida... I'll leave it to you."

Ei gave a curt nod. "Leave it to me, sister."

"We'll do our best," Nahida added, her voice soft but firm.

The two Archons ascended into the stormy sky, transforming into streaks of violet and emerald light.

The heavens erupted in thunderous explosions as the battle unfolded.

The crimson energy from the puppet formed massive cubic constructs, firing them like missiles at the three figures opposing her.

Each collision shook the very fabric of the world, the oppressive energy sending shockwaves that caused even the land of Fontaine to tremble.

The citizens who had been evacuated earlier were struck by the immense pressure. Most fainted instantly, unable to endure the weight of the divine conflict.

Only a handful of Vision-bearers managed to stay conscious, craning their necks for a fleeting glimpse of the battle in the heavens.

Back in the Opera Epiclese

As the symphony of destruction raged above, the ruins of the Opera House were suddenly filled with the strains of a somber orchestral piece.

Makoto and Bu'er stood protectively beside Luo Qing, their faces etched with concern as they watched the battle.

"Makoto," Lumine said cautiously, her gaze lingering on the sky.

"You knew all this would happen, didn't you?"

She finally understood that Makoto, who called herself the leader of Luo Qing's harem, seemed to have foreseen everything—the return of the puppet, the divine conflict, all of it.

Makoto gave a small shake of her head, her eyes softening as they rested on Luo Qing's unconscious form.

"I'm simply walking a path I've walked before," she said quietly.

"But we now stand at a crossroads.

"Where we go from here... is still uncertain."

Makoto was fully aware of the odds they faced.

Even as a puppet devoid of emotion, the figure in the sky possessed power comparable to the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.

Had all seven Archons been present, they might have stood a chance.

But with only two Archons and a Dragon Sovereign, their odds were slim.

To pass through this crossroads safely, they would need the one destined to push fate forward.

"You..."

Makoto's stern expression softened into a smile as she gently cupped Luo Qing's face, her voice turning playful.

"If you don't wake up soon, that dream of yours—thirteen people sharing one oversized, fluffy bed—might not come true."

As her words faded, Luo Qing's eyelids fluttered open.

He reached out, clasping Makoto's hands with his own, his expression serious.

"Are you serious?"
