Genshin Impact: This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable

Chapter 447: This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [447]

Chapter 447 - This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [447]

Inside the Opera Epiclese, the once magnificent stage lay in ruins. Only the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale remained intact amid the destruction.

Luo Qing and Neuvillette continued their intense battle, their movements a blur. Despite the ferocity of their clash, an unspoken agreement kept their attacks from harming the kneeling citizens below.

Lumine, watching from the sidelines, felt utterly helpless. The two combatants moved so fast that she couldn't intervene, let alone stop them.

At one point, Neuvillette's expression hardened. He seemed ready to unleash greater power.

With a swift motion, he summoned a surge of cleansing water, breaking the spell over the kneeling citizens and urging them to evacuate the area to prevent unnecessary casualties.

Luo Qing, equally prepared to escalate, activated his Susanoo. The deep-purple energy armor enveloped him, amplifying his already overwhelming presence.

As the civilians fled, the two fighters abandoned their restraints.

The atmosphere inside the Opera House became suffocating, weighed down by the sheer intensity of their power. On one side stood Neuvillette, his body surrounded by torrents of water and faint dragon horns glowing in the depths of his aura. Opposite him was Luo Qing, clad in his dark violet armor, wielding twin energy blades.

Just as the battle reached its boiling point, the Oratrice in the center of the stage began to glow with an intense blue light.

At the same time, Furina, who had been slumped in her chair, suddenly lifted her head. Her voice, faint but audible, broke through the tension.

"Luo Qing..."

The light from the Oratrice grew blinding, filling the room like a flare.

Realizing the imminent danger, Luo Qing deactivated his Susanoo and triggered Zero Time, rushing toward Furina to whisk her away before it was too late.

As soon as he reached her and pulled her into his arms, the light from the Oratrice surged again.

It enveloped them both, like temporal threads binding them together.

For Luo Qing, the next moment felt like stepping into a dream.

---

The blinding light faded, revealing a new scene. Furina was no longer in his arms. Instead, he found himself standing on the stage, face-to-face with a woman whose silhouette was achingly familiar.

She stood with her back to him, clad in an ornate yet slightly old-fashioned gown, her silver hair cascading down her shoulders. Above her head floated a massive, gleaming sword of deep blue, its edge sharp enough to slice the air itself—a blade that evoked the legend of the Sword of Damocles.

It hovered ominously, ready to strike at any moment.

"You..." Luo Qing's eyes widened in shock.

The elegance of her attire, her striking silver hair, and her unmistakable presence—he had seen her before, in that dreamlike encounter within the primordial seawater.

"It's you..."

"Yes, it's me~"

The woman turned to face him, revealing a face almost identical to Furina's, yet brimming with a liveliness Furina seldom displayed.

"It's been a while, Luo Qing," she said with a playful smile.

"Hmm... I suppose I should apologize for nearly mistaking you for someone else last time. That was my bad~"

"You..." Luo Qing's mind spun with questions.

He hadn't expected to encounter this mysterious woman again, let alone in this situation.

She really is connected to Furina, isn't she?

"What's your relationship with Furina?" he asked cautiously. "And how do you know me?"

"Hmph! So many questions the moment we meet again?" The woman pouted, placing her hands on her hips with an exaggeratedly annoyed expression.

"And... have you really forgotten me? You don't even know who I am?!"

"I..." Luo Qing hesitated, unsure how to respond.

If she wasn't Furina, then he truly had no memory of her.

"Well, you did tell me this might happen," she mused, her tone softening. "You said it'd be better this way... that if you forgot me, it'd make things less painful when I'm gone."

Her playful demeanor shifted. She smiled wistfully before continuing.

"Let's start over, then. My name is Focalors. I was the familiar of the previous Hydro Archon, Egeria, and I'm also the current Hydro Archon. Furina and I... are one and the same."

"What?" Luo Qing froze, struggling to process the flood of revelations.

"You and Furina are... the same? Then why..."

"Why am I here while Furina doesn't have any divine powers?" she finished for him, her tone teasing.

Luo Qing nodded silently.

Focalors giggled. "You really have forgotten a lot, haven't you? But lucky for you, I have some time to explain."

She began recounting the story of her origins, her connection to Furina, and the desperate decision to separate her divinity from her mortal form to evade the judgment of Celestia.

When she finished, Luo Qing stood motionless, as if struck by lightning.

He hadn't expected Furina's burdens to be so immense, her sacrifices so profound.

The weight of the truth filled him with an aching sorrow.

"And you and I..." Luo Qing began hesitantly.

"We've known each other for a long time~" Focalors interrupted with a smirk.

"But honestly, back then, you were much closer to Egeria than to me."

Her expression turned mock-annoyed.

"You just showed up one day, spouting cryptic nonsense about how 'the original sin of creation will one day bring ruin to Fontaine,' then disappeared, leaving us to clean up the mess! Oh, and let's not forget the part where you told me to call you 'husband' if I wanted the solution."

"What?!" Luo Qing was dumbfounded.

Before he could respond, the Sword of Damocles above her head emitted a low rumble, its energy intensifying.

"Looks like time's running out," Focalors murmured, her expression dimming slightly as she glanced up at the hovering blade.

Then she turned back to Luo Qing, offering him a bittersweet smile.

"It was nice seeing you again, Luo Qing.

"There's so much more I wish I could tell you... but it seems I won't have the chance."

Her voice softened as she added, "If you have any questions, ask now. Soon, I won't be able to answer them."

"Does it really have to end this way?" Luo Qing asked quietly.

"Isn't there another way to resolve this without a sacrifice?"

Focalors shook her head gently, interrupting him.

"There isn't. This is the only path," she said firmly. "Both the plan to deceive Celestia and what I told you earlier—those were your own words.

"You said it yourself... We have no other choice."

Luo Qing clenched his fists, unable to argue.

"What if we don't go through with it?"

"Then the trial will continue, and the sword above us will inevitably fall," Focalors replied, her voice tinged with resignation.

"No one can stop it..."

As if to emphasize her point, the Sword of Damocles let out another ominous hum.

Focalors closed her eyes, seemingly unfazed by the impending danger. Instead, she began to dance, her movements graceful and serene, as if bidding farewell to the world.

When her dance ended, the sword descended.

A massive surge of judgment energy engulfed the stage, swallowing the entire Opera Epiclese in its wake.

When the energy finally dissipated, Focalors opened her eyes in confusion.

"What... what happened?" she stammered, looking around.

The Sword of Damocles had fallen—yet she was unharmed.

Turning, she froze at the sight behind her.

The sword had pierced Luo Qing's body instead.
