Chapter 200
Drinking game.
In fact, the only time I had done it was because I was pressured by the people around me in college, not because I actually wanted to. So, I was a little nervous.
‘I don’t want to mess up the mood for no reason.’
Of course, it was my stream, but I didn’t want to make things awkward by not understanding the rules and ruining the atmosphere with everyone here. After some hesitation, I finally gave in.
"Should we?"
I accepted soon enough. There was no other choice. If I wasn’t streaming on my account, maybe I could’ve avoided it, but since I was streaming on my account, running away would’ve been more awkward.
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Let’s go, lol.] [This drinking game is going to be so much fun.] [What kind of drinking game are we doing?] [There are so many types of drinking games.] [Twispookjjikmareupne: How about the Okja game?] [Arim: The Okja game sounds good, lol.]
"Ah, should we play the Okja game? It seems fun." "That’s the easiest and most fun one."
Looking at the chat, everyone was talking about something I didn’t understand.
‘...What’s the Okja game?’
Am I the only one who doesn’t know it? They all seem to know about it.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, I spoke up.
"Could you explain what the Okja game is…?"
At my question...
"You don’t know the Okja game?" "I’ve never heard of it in my life." "Wow… You don’t know this?" "This is a bit..."
Everyone around me was looking at me as if I were strange. It seemed that not knowing the Okja game was unusual. If it wasn’t, they wouldn’t react like this.
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: ???] [🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: You don’t know this…?] [This is really loser behavior.] [Is this a loser moment?] [Twispookjjikmareupne: This is something, lol.] [Everyone plays it in college.] [Hwanhee: You don’t know this?]
Checking the chat, it seemed like I really was the one who was strange. So...
"Please, can you tell me? I really don’t know anything about it."
I pleaded a bit, knowing I’d end up at a disadvantage if I didn’t understand the game and joined in. With my request, they looked at me with amused expressions.
"Hmm..."
Mangming and Harin raised their eyebrows, clearly enjoying the rare situation where I asked for help. Then Harin spoke up.
"It’s a simple game, once you hear the explanation, you’ll understand immediately." "So, what’s the game?" "Basically, people take turns saying 'Anyone who fits this description, fold your finger.' When it’s your turn, you fold a finger. When all five fingers are folded, you take a shot." "What if you don’t have five fingers?" "Well... I guess you don’t?"
This was an important issue. After all, some people might not have five fingers.
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Oh, right.] [For real.] [What if someone has no fingers?] [This could be serious...] [Twispookjjikmareupne: Harin seems to be discriminating against people with physical disabilities, lol.] [If this isn’t discrimination, what is it?]
After saying that, Harin thought for a moment, then came up with a solution.
"Then, we’ll play it without fingers." "Excuse me?" "No, it makes sense. You can’t add fingers that aren’t there, so you just play without them. Or, we could say, 'Anyone missing a finger, fold it!'" "That’s a bit..."
Maybe it was because it was Harin, but her suggestion seemed very genuine. It felt like she might genuinely think like that deep down.
[Twispookjjikmareupne: Wow, that’s messed up.] [Her character is trash.] [🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Okay, I’ll let the other stuff slide, but saying 'Fold your finger if you’re missing one' is something else.] [This is wild.] [So funny, lol.] [This is totally Harin, lol.] [Twispookjjikmareupne: The official trash duo is here, lol.]
After fully understanding the rules of the Okja game, we started the drinking game. Usually, we’d play these games with soju, but since there wasn’t any soju at the pension, we had to use whiskey instead.
‘A bit of a waste.’
Whiskey is supposed to be enjoyed slowly, after all. With that thought, we started the first game. The first person was Mangming.
"Hmm."
Mangming gave us all a quick glance, then said:
"Anyone who isn’t a woman, fold your finger."
He said something ridiculous.
"Wait, is this right?" "This is how the game is played." "...Okay, I understand."
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Hahahaha.] [He’s really angry.] [Anyone who isn’t a woman, fold your finger, lol.] [Where are all the men at?!?!?!] Temporarily logged out! [This is hilarious, lol.] [Twispookjjikmareupne: This is how it’s supposed to be, lol.]
And so, the drinking game officially started.
"Anyone not wearing socks, fold your finger." "...Tch."
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: ?] [You should be wearing socks, man, lol.] [But maybe he took them off when he got to the pension.] [Maybe it’s more comfortable like that.] [Let’s do this.]
I didn’t know why someone wasn’t wearing socks right now. But anyway...
"Then, it’s finally my turn?"
It was my turn. The moment I could legally make other people fold their fingers. I was so excited. After all, I’d been the one always folding my fingers until now.
"Who has one finger left..."
I slowly looked around.
Then...
"Hmm."
I noticed Rize, quietly hiding his hand. It seemed like he had one finger left.
Without hesitation, I went for the kill.
"Anyone who’s been a pro gamer, fold your finger."
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: No way, are you serious? Hahaha.] [Hahahaha.] [This is going to catch at least two people, right?] [What’s the standard for being a pro?] [Twispookjjikmareupne: Rize’s cut, lol.]
As soon as I said that...
"Ah..." "Ugh."
Two people folded their fingers.
"Eh, why are you folding your finger?" Suddenly, Mangming folded his finger. I didn’t think he’d ever been a pro gamer.
"...I’ve been a pro gamer, though?" "No, stop lying." "I’m serious, ask me."
Mangming looked at me defiantly, expressing his frustration. It seemed like he was really upset. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have spoken so confidently.
"...Really?" "Didn’t you know? Mangming was a pro gamer." "I didn’t know."
Harin looked at me, bewildered, then sighed and spoke up.
"There used to be a game called Auto Chess. He was a pro player in that. He played it and now he’s streaming." "...Really?" "Yeah, well... he’s worse than me now, but he was decent back then."
As far as I knew, Auto Chess was a game where you place pieces and compete against each other. I had heard it was a game where you need a good mind to excel.
"Hmm, I don’t think I could do it." "Ah, we’ll play it someday. I’m serious, I can win with one hand." "...Isn’t that how the game is usually played with one hand?" "Yeah, but that’s not important right now."
While we were talking, suddenly...
"Then, I’ll have a drink!"
Rize shouted loudly.
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Hahahaha.] [Why’s he so hyped up?] [Isn’t it because Pine is next to him?] [I heard he really likes Pine.] [Twispookjjikmareupne: Hype is definitely bb.] [This is it, lol.] [Drink it down, lol.]
Shouting that, Rize downed the whiskey, and...
Thud!
He collapsed immediately.
"Eh?"
[🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: ?] [?] [Twispookjjikmareupne: Did he drink poison or something?] [Can someone really fall like that?] [What’s going on?] [What the heck.] [We should check if he’s okay, lol.]
Rize was lying on the table. Fortunately, he hadn’t touched any of the food around him, but he looked like he was in a lot of pain. It seemed like he had hit his head hard.
So I approached and touched his head.
"There’s no blood. Thank goodness."
I was relieved. If there had been blood, it would’ve been a disaster. I was glad we didn’t end the stream on the first day at the pension. And so, we continued the drinking game.
"Alright, let’s leave out the dropouts... and keep going."
Oh, of course, it wasn’t me, but Pine.
[Twispookjjikmareupne: Why is he so hyped, lol.] [A wife getting drunk and drinking like crazy, lol.] [🗡️All-powerful Cthulhu: Pine’s probably fuming while watching the stream, lol.] [For real.] [If Pine’s husband is boiling with anger watching the stream, that’s a thumbs up.] [He’s probably waiting at home with a bat, lol.] [Hwanhee: I’m sure Pine considered this when he sent him off, lol.]
And so, after knocking Rize out, we continued the drinking game. It didn’t matter that we were yelling late into the night. It was a drinking game that wouldn’t end until only one person remained.
‘...I really want to survive this.’
With that thought, I focused on the game. Rolling around on the floor drunk was definitely not my style.
What do you think?
