From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

"Xue Cong, remember the pills. And you, Xuan Qi, did you pack the essentials we need?" Liang Feng went through a checklist of the stuff to bring and took care to check on Shao Xue Cong and Lin Xuan Qi.

Shao Xue Cong nodded and showed him the pill bottles.

"Relax, I got the items in my backpack; besides, we can go fishing or hunting if we run out of rations." Lin Xuan Qi wasn't too worried as he was a hunter before joining Qing Feng Sect.

"I know, but we'd better not give trouble to senior martial brother," Liang Feng said and gave out a sigh.

A hand tapped on his shoulder from behind, and he turned around and saw that it was Lin Fan.

"Well done, always be cautious and prepared." Lin Fan was impressed with Liang Feng taking to heart what he had said before.

"You too." He glanced over at Shao Xue Cong and gave her a thumbs up.

Shao Xue Cong smiled as she had learned that the gesture meant that she was doing well.

He glanced at Lin Xuan Qi and also gave him a thumbs up.

They were teenagers, and he could understand Lin Xuan Qi being boisterous.

"Since you are ready, let's get going," Lin Fan said, and they carried their backpacks and followed Lin Fan.

Sun Hai looked at them leaving from afar as they descended the long stairs to the exit of the Qing Feng Sect.

Horses were ready for them at the exit of Qing Feng Sect.

They looked up into the sky and the surroundings.

This was the first time they left the Qing Feng Sect ever since they joined.

It had been a long time since they saw what was on the outside, and this was a refresher for them.

"Our mission is to help the Teng Yi village, which is two days of travel away from here. The robbers in the surrounding mountains, numbering around twenty, keep coming down into the village and looting the villagers of their valuables."

As they traveled on horseback, Lin Fan briefed them on the details of the mission.

They listened and felt a sense of rage as it could have been their own village being robbed by robbers.

Lin Fan saw their reaction and silently thought that he had made the right choice for the mission.

Exposing them to a familiar environment to see whether they could keep their heads calm would be a good test for them.

As for the robbers, they weren't anything that he couldn't handle.

Zhao Ming Ye sat in the Memory Recall Formation, and he directed his Qi into the demonic beast cores powering the formation array.

Right in the middle of the formation array was Jade Face Lin's head.

He had been trying to extract whatever memory that was in the head for a few days.

Sweat drenched his robe and made it stick to his skin.

This was the last try as the head's tissue was starting to deteriorate.

He had reluctantly sought help from Han Dang to help him this time.

"Han Dang, now!"

He shouted at Han Dang who was standing beside.

Han Dang, on his instruction, threw a bottle into the air.

The bottle gave out a glow, and the surroundings immediately felt like time had stopped.

Particles and dust that were floating in the air froze.

The scriptures written on the ground glowed, and a light pillar shot out from Jade Face Lin's head.

"Yes, finally!" Zhao Ming Ye exclaimed at the success, and he looked at the projection in the light pillar.

There were only messy scenes jumbled up together.

Zhao Ming Ye and Han Dang looked intensely at the scenes to try and identify any information that was useful.

The scenes jumped from one to another, and Zhao Ming Ye was about to give up when finally, he saw something familiar.

The entrance to the North Realm.

"The North Realm," Zhao Ming Ye shouted out in joy.

But the scene suddenly changed, and a pair of eyes appeared.

It stared at Zhao Ming Ye as if it knew that he was looking at Jade Face Lin's memory.

The eyeballs then shifted and glanced at Han Dang.

As if it knew that Han Dang was standing there.

"Stop the formation array!" Han Dang shouted, but it was too late.

An aura came down at him and Zhao Ming Ye.

Cough.

They coughed out a mouthful of blood as they felt their bones being crushed.

Both fell onto the ground with their four limbs flat on the ground.

"Hurry, save the peak lord." Elders who were in the room quickly stopped the formation array, and the light pillar disappeared.

"Peak lord, are you all right?" The elder asked as he tried to help Zhao Ming Ye up.

"Get the sect master," Zhao Ming Ye wiped the blood from the corner of his lip and said.

The other elders got to work and informed the sect master.

Qing Yang Zi arrived quickly with Zhao Qing Ying and Huo Ren Yi.

Huo Ren Yi took out his Heavenly Rejuvenate Pill and gave it to Zhao Ming Ye and Han Dang.

The pills worked their magic immediately, and their crushed bones healed.

"Sect master, I've managed to extract some memories from the head," Zhao Ming Ye said and glanced over at Han Dang.

"With the help of Han Dang."

"What did you find out? And who injured you?" Qing Yang Zi brushed his long beard and asked.

"What I've found out is that these people who attacked Yi Mei Sect came from the North Realm.

"The scenes were random, and everything went as usual.

"But a pair of eyes suddenly appeared and unleashed an aura pressure on us.

"That's why we got injured."

Qing Yang Zi's hand stopped brushing his long beard and froze.

He glanced over at Zhao Qing Ying.

The North Realm held many secrets, and he wasn't too sure of who injured Zhao Ming Ye and Han Dang.

Zhao Qing Ying shook his head as he too had no idea.

Qing Yang Zi frowned and thought for a moment.

He sighed, and with a reluctant look, he said, "Maybe the Chief Librarian would know something about it."
