"Oh. Is that true, Captain Lu Ding?" The Emperor stared at Lu Ding and asked.

Lu Ding sighed; he had never expected to be in this situation after giving his all for the Quan Dynasty.

Now, every shout he made about fighting the battles for the Emperor seemed like a joke.

This man, the Emperor was finding ways to implicate him and the Qing Feng Sect just because he feels like it.

Lu Ding clenched his fist and looked up.

"Your Majesty, that's not true. There were people who wore and fought like the Qing Feng Sect disciples, but after our investigation, it wasn't so."

It wasn't useful to deny such a thing happened as there were soldiers from Hai Tao and Ye Sheng's troops still alive.

Lu Ding wasn't someone that would slaughter them all and try to make the matter go away.

"How dare you deny it! You saw it with your own eyes!" Ye Sheng shouted with his finger pointing at Lu Ding and then he turned to the Emperor, "Your Majesty, you mustn't believe the lies he is spewing.

"They used the Twirling Wind Strike from the Qing Feng Sect.

"And unless the Qing Feng Sect had taught it to outsiders, it was impossible anyone else except Qing Feng Sect disciples knew the technique!"

Ye Sheng regurgitated everything the chief eunuch told him to, word by word.

"Calm down." The Emperor motioned for Ye Sheng to calm down.

He then turned and asked Lu Ding, "What evidence do you have to prove that they weren't disciples from Qing Feng Sect?"

"I…" Lu Ding didn't finish his sentence and stopped.

The chief eunuch smirked and gave a glance at the Right Prime Minister.

With a sly grin, the Right Prime Minister returned the chief eunuch's glance.

The officials were now murmuring among themselves.

"Could this be true?"

"Of course, it must be true. Who dares to make such an accusation?"

"What a pity. And I thought this Lu Ding was destined for something great."

"I…" Lu Ding spoke again, and this time, he continued.

"I have the evidence with Lin Fan."

After he got his cue, Lin Fan stood forward and said, "Your Majesty, those so-called Qing Feng Sect disciples weren't from the Qing Feng Sect, they had artifacts on them that could mimic the Twirling Wind Strike."

"What?"

"How is this possible?"

"We've never heard such a thing before."

The officials questioned what Lin Fan had said.

The Emperor's face went dark, and he stared over at the chief eunuch.

Cold sweat ran down the chief eunuch's back.

How was it possible.

Those on the mission knew that they were to self-immolate and destroy all evidence.

Some of them must have failed to do so.

The chief eunuch cursed silently at their inability.

But there wasn't much time for him.

He had to do something fast.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva and stood forward.

"Young master, I think no one has heard this before and you must be aware that lying to the Emperor can be a death sentence." The chief eunuch said, trying to threaten Lin Fan.

However, it didn't work as Lin Fan just shrugged his shoulders and he ripped off the bracelet that was on his wrist.

"Guards!" The chief eunuch's eyes opened wide when he saw Lin Fan ripping off the bracelet.

It was impossible!

How can anyone rip out the bracelet without his Qi working.

The imperial guards came streaming into the imperial court immediately with their swords and crossbows.

"Relax. I just need my Qi to take out the evidence." Lin Fan said and took out the artifacts that enabled anyone to unleash the fake Twirling Wind Strike from his storage artifact.

The imperial guards aimed their crossbows at Lin Fan as he moved.

To their relief, he only placed some artifacts onto the ground.

The Emperor's face turned darker, and he twitched his eyebrows when he saw the artifacts.

"Those look like some ordinary artifacts."

"Yeah. How can these let anyone master the Twirling Wind Strike instantly?"

"From what I know it takes years to be able to unleash one."

The officials' chatters gave the chief eunuch some confidence and he said, "You can't prove anything with that."

Governor Lu quickly stood forward and said, "Let's get someone who's not from the Qing Feng Sect and see if he can unleash the Twirling Wind Strike with it."

"Who can do it? I wouldn't trust anyone you appoint, after all you are Lu Ding's father." The chief eunuch tried to delay the inevitable.

Hoping for someone to save him.

"Easy, let me do it." The Left Prime Minister who had been silent all along stood forward.

"Although my dantian had been damaged, forcing me to take the route of the imperial exams, I should be able to wield the artifact.

"I believe my reputation for being impartial speaks for itself."

The Left Prime Minister explained why he was the best person to do so.

The officials in the imperial court couldn't agree more.

Zhang Ju Chan, the Left Prime Minister's stellar reputation as impartial was well known.

"Yes. Who else but the Left Prime Minister?"

"Thankfully, there will be a closure now."

"With the Left Prime Minister, I have total faith in him."

The Emperor frowned but he had no choice but to give the green light.

He waved at the Left Prime Minister to proceed.

Lin Fan nodded at the Left Prime Minister and said, "Just inject your Qi into the artifact and thrust your sword forward."

The Left Prime Minister walked over to one of the imperial guards, borrowed his sword and then picked up one of the artifacts on the ground.

He put on the artifact, and he turned towards an empty wall with no one around.

Everyone's eyes looked intensely at every move the Left Prime Minister made.

The artifact on the Left Prime Minister's wrist glowed.

He pulled back his arm, ready to thrust the sword forward.

All the officials held their breath.

But the Left Prime Minister gave out a loud cough instead.

Clank.

The sword dropped to the ground.

The chief eunuch when he saw what had happened, grinned with his eyes wide open.
