Chapter 257
The first enemy to withstand the Hero’s overwhelming offense wasn’t Herbion.
It was the second Named Boss.
The System—should I call it the absolute law of this world?
Even though this was merely an Elite Dungeon, the Named Bosses that existed under the System’s protection weren’t so easy to deal with.
The four-player scaling mechanics and the absolute resistance barriers that appeared during special phases were definitely a hassle.
[Second Named Boss]
[Lv. 60 – Forest Arachne]
[HP: 269,991,774 / 300,000,000 (90%)]
THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!
“Tch!”
I flipped backward through the air, clicking my tongue in irritation.
The second boss arena was a web-covered cavern, resembling a dense forest with tangled vines hanging everywhere.
And at the very top, lurking among the ceiling’s thick vines, was a massive spider—the second Named Boss.
It was continuously spitting huge balls of webbing at me.
This was its 90% HP special phase.
Judging by the pattern, it would probably repeat at 60% and 30% HP.
But that wasn’t my problem.
I had no intention of seeing this pattern twice more.
After I survived this gimmick, I’d unleash all my DPS and finish it off with Sky-Cracking Sword Aura.
The Arachne, still entangled in the vines, was shielded by the same Absolute Resistance Barrier as the first boss.
And then—
Chitter, chitter, chitter.
The minions spawned.
The spiderlings, a special phase nuisance, crawled out of the shadows.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Tired of endlessly cutting them down, I swung my sword violently.
The blue aura around my blade erupted like a storm, sweeping through the cavern.
SCREEEECH!
The spiderlings screeched as they were blown away, spraying bluish-green blood in all directions.
TAP.
One of them dropped a glowing red orb.
I immediately grabbed it and hurled it straight at the Arachne clinging to the ceiling.
BOOM! FWOOOSH!
The Arachne was engulfed in flames.
A simple gimmick.
Defeat the adds, collect the bombs, and use them to knock the boss off the ceiling.
What do you think?
