Serena Summers snuggled into Adrian Holt’s arms, feeling the familiar scent emanating from his body, and her long-tense heart began to gently relax.
She wriggled in his embrace, looking for a comfortable position, and closed her eyes to sleep.
But she failed to notice that in the darkness, the man slowly opened his eyes.
Those profound eyes seemed to blend with the night, entirely engulfing Serena.
Serena quickly felt sleepy, almost immediately dozing off as her head hit the pillow.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, a low and hoarse voice suddenly came from above her head.

“What are you doing?”
Serena suddenly woke up, reaching up to rub her bleary eyes, and looked up at him, “Are you awake? Did I wake you?”
“What are you doing?” Adrian Holt’s body tensed up, and he repeated his question.
Serena blinked, her eyes filled with innocence, “Sleeping, of course.”
This righteous demeanor somewhat amused and irritated Adrian.
He pulled away Serena’s hand that was resting on his waist, his voice as if laced with ice, utterly cold.
