Chapter 869: I see you blushing and it makes me want to…

Mo Xiuchen arrived at Chen Bin’s house where Wen Ran was already waiting at the gate of the apartment complex downstairs.

Li Qian insisted on escorting her downstairs. Chen Bin, feeling sorry for his wife, took her place in escorting Wen Ran downstairs to wait for Mo Xiuchen.

Mo Xiuchen nodded to Chen Bin, greeted him briefly, then opened the passenger door. Shielding the car roof with one hand, he ushered Wen Ran into the vehicle.

Once Wen Ran was seated, she urged Chen Bin to hurry back upstairs. He nodded and, after reminding Mo Xiuchen to take care, turned to enter the complex.

Mo Xiuchen got into the car, turned to face her, and considerately fastened Wen Ran’s seatbelt, “Ranran, are you hungry?”

“Not hungry, I just ate some fruit at Sister Li’s place.” Wen Ran’s smile was gentle, her eyes like water as they rested on Mo Xiuchen. She realized she had missed him, even though it had been only a day since they’d last seen each other.

Perhaps it was because they had become used to each other’s constant company over those three days.

After Mo Xiuchen secured her seatbelt, he didn’t move back immediately. Instead, he raised his hand to gently sweep her bangs to one side, his large palm gliding over her smooth hair as his deep eyes filled with tenderness and affection.

Wen Ran didn’t move or shy away.

She just quietly met his gaze. The sweetness spread in her heart.

“Ranran, did you miss me?”

Mo Xiuchen leaned slightly toward her, his voice deepening, becoming even more sensual and alluring. His crisp masculine scent sprayed onto Wen Ran’s face, and as it mingled with her breath, her heartbeat involuntarily quickened.

Her long lashes trembled, her gaze lowered, and a warm smile blossomed on her lips, “I played with Sister Li’s baby all afternoon, I had no time to miss you.”

Her words, contrary to her true feelings, brought a hearty laugh from Mo Xiuchen. He used his long finger to lift her chin, forcing her gaze, which had just dropped, back up to meet his, “Ranran, you’re lying, your face is all red.”

“I’m not lying.”

Wen Ran reached out to grab his hand, her cheeks growing hot.

This man had endless ways to tease her, and she never managed to remain unaffected. She didn’t know if it was due to her lack of willpower or just her inability to resist him.

His simple words, movements, even the mere glance, and even the air tinged with his scent turned her heart into chaos.

“What are you blushing for then?” Mo Xiuchen narrowed his eyes, his gaze burning as he looked at her.

In the confined space of the car, their breath intertwined. He was so close to her, speaking in intimate tones, and now his hand boldly caressed her cheek. If she didn’t blush, that would be the real surprise.

Wen Ran’s eyes widened as she glared at him, her small hand clutching his wrist, trying to remove his hand, “Try touching another woman and see if she blushes.”

“Ranran, is that why you’re blushing?”

Mo Xiuchen chuckled lightly, the affection in his eyes growing, “I really don’t know about that. In my life, aside from you, I’ve never touched another woman.”

He spoke slowly, with deliberate pauses, in a low, magnetic voice. Even though his words were calm and gentle, coming from his mouth, along with his mischievous smile, they somehow became flirtatious.

Wen Ran frowned; she didn’t see anything funny about blushing.

With such a handsome man in such a flirtatious position, and on top of that, the man she loved in her heart, how could she not blush and feel her heart race?

“Yes, if you take your hand away, I won’t blush.”

“Ranran, I like watching you blush,” he paused, then suddenly leaned in close to her ear and spoke ambiguously, “When I see you blush, I want to kiss you.”

“You better start driving,”

Wen Ran’s already flushed little face turned scarlet at his words of wanting to kiss her.

Embarrassed and annoyed, she pushed him away and turned her head, refusing to pay him any more attention.

Mo Xiuchen’s hearty laughter rang in her ears; teasing her was truly the greatest pleasure of his life. Seeing that Wen Ran kept looking out of the window without turning back, with only anger written on her little face,

Mo Xiuchen finally stopped laughing and sighed softly, “Ranran, when I was back in D Country, I was never this happy.”

His words successfully dissipated all the displeasure in Wen Ran. She turned her head, the annoyance in her watery eyes replaced by threads of tenderness. Gazing at his handsome and elegant features, the longing she had been unwilling to admit slipped gently from her red lips, “Mo Xiuchen, I missed you.”

The light in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes instantly brightened, and a captivating smile spread across his brow. He leaned forward quickly, pulled Wen Ran closer, and planted a kiss on her forehead. He then sat back contentedly and said cheerfully, “Nanny Zhang has already bought the groceries. We’re going home now, and I’ll cook for you.”

“Why not let Nanny Zhang do it?”

Wen Ran frowned slightly. He had worked all day, and now he was going to cook at home; she would feel sorry for him.

“Ranran, do you feel sorry for me?” Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a tender smile, his gaze deep and clear as he looked at her.

Wen Ran nodded generously, “Yes, are you the only one allowed to feel sorry for me, and I’m not allowed to feel the same for you?”

“Allowed, certainly allowed. However, I’m not tired. If you feel sorry for me, just stay by my side,” Mo Xiuchen said before bending down to start the car.

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t know whether to call it a small world or just bad luck.

She could run into Qi Meiling while shopping at a mall. It would be fine if it were only her, but it just so happened she was with Luo Haofeng.

And they ran into each other head-on.

“Xiaoxiao.”

A mixture of joy, surprise, and chagrin flitted through Luo Haofeng’s flirtatious eyes, and he hurriedly withdrew the arm that Qi Meiling was holding.

All of Bai Xiaoxiao’s emotions were buried in her heart, while a proper smile hung on her face. She spoke lightly, “What a coincidence, you’re also shopping at the mall?”

She glanced at the groceries in Luo Haofeng’s cart, ignoring the twinge in her heart. Luo Haofeng’s handsome face turned a slight shade, “Xiaoxiao, Meiling is going back tomorrow. I’m helping her buy some things.”

His explanation prompted an urge to laugh in Bai Xiaoxiao.

Qi Meiling chimed in cheerfully, “Miss Bai, we really are fated, bumping into each other at the mall like this. Come visit our place later; I’ll cook dinner tonight. Though, these are all foods I like. If you have anything particular you’d like to eat, we can go buy some more.”

“Thank you, but I already have plans.”

Bai Xiaoxiao had barely finished speaking when her phone rang.

Luo Haofeng’s expression changed, and he stood in the middle of the aisle, blocking Bai Xiaoxiao with no intention of moving aside while she pushed her shopping cart.

Bai Xiaoxiao pursed her lips and, in front of them, answered the phone in a calm and gentle voice, “Hello?”

“Xiaoxiao, I’m already at the mall. Which floor are you on?”

The call was from Meng Ke. Half an hour earlier, he had phoned to ask where Bai Xiaoxiao was. She told him she was shopping at the mall.

Meng Ke then asked which mall she was in, and Bai Xiaoxiao told him the name, playfully asking, “Why, you want to come shopping too?”
