Chapter 246: Childhood Sins, Moving Out

“I… have never eaten something this good in my entire life!” Harry says, as he eagerly stuffs more pasta into his mouth, devouring it rapidly.

“Glad you like it. Eat up, kiddo. You sure as hell need the energy if you want to survive in Sev’s lessons. He has it out for you,” Menchi says.

Harry swallows his food and then asks, not actually expecting an answer: “You know everything. Might as well tell me why he hates me so much.”

“He doesn’t hate you. Some humans, like Snape, are just too emotional and unstable,” Rishi explains.

“It’s pretty debatable if he really hates you. I think he both hates and deeply loves you, but I’m not sure we should tell you,” Tereza says.

“You know?! Tell me! Please!”

“We only know because we have many contacts with previous students. I’d also recommend that you find out yourself. However, I told you. You need to make decisions for yourself, so it’s up to you,” Alex says while eating.

“Please tell me,” Harry begs.

“Okay… one condition. Can you swear not to reveal that we’ve told you, or will you get mad the next time he bullies you and then scream at him, revealing everything we tell you?” Alex questions him.

“I… I’m not sure, sorry,” Harry answers honestly.

“Good enough. We’ll teach you some techniques to remain calm. Menchi is my teacher as well, so while I teach you, Menchi will help out too, I hope,” Alex says, looking at her.

“Ooh, interesting. Time for your first student? Sure, I’ll help you out, and you’ll stay my cute student forever, even if you now have a student yourself,” Menchi responds with a cheeky undertone in her voice.

Harry looks like he’s seen a ghost: “She is your teacher?! But the age…”

“Means nothing,” Rishi states, slightly amused.

“So… what happened?” Harry asks nervously.

“Simply told. Your father cucked Snape…” Alex says, adding: “No, wait, that came out a bit direct….”

“What does that mean?!” Harry asks, obviously confused.

Guess these terms weren’t common during this time, right? I need to get rid of the modern degenerated speech pattern of our current time. I’m strangely used to them!

“He was a childhood friend of your mother and loved her, but he ended up in Slytherin, and your mom in Gryffindor. Also, your father was a good guy, but he hated Slytherins and loved to bully Snape. Imagine Draco? Your father was pretty much similar to him, only reverse the houses,” Alex explains.

“In the end, your mother chose to cut ties with Snape and choose your father. She went for the rich pure-blood wizard instead of the Half-blood prince, rather ironic, now that I think about it,” Alex concludes.

“No… this has to be a lie!!” Harry says, looking shocked.

Alex explains in a calm voice: “Harry, calm down. They were kids. Just look at you and your slightly… let’s say, unique red-haired friend. What you’re doing now is equally silly and stupid. You’re silly for actually taking all that abuse, and your friend is just a complete, insecure, jealous moron. You can’t judge someone for what they do as kids. Also, a childhood feud is not a reason for a grown man to bully an innocent kid who didn’t even know his dad. Anyway, that’s all. He loved your mom and hated your dad. You’ve probably been told this, but apparently you look just…”

“Just like my father… and I have the eyes of my mother. I see. No wonder he hates me, I remind him of his suffering,” Harry states.

“Snape was not innocent either. He did some wrong things as well, Harry. He just ended up losing this silly game. It’s too complicated for you, and this information is of no use to you,” Tereza says, slightly patting Harry’s head.

“...Thank you for telling me. Anyway, I better get back home to the castle!” Harry says, looking a bit worried.

“That’s the next thing. Go back and pack your things. You’re moving in with us. Doesn’t help if you need to commute here daily. Also, your housemates treat you like shit; this is not helpful at all! You should also quit most of your classes. Maybe stick with Transfiguration, Charms, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. You don’t need the rest. You can just read the textbooks to easily pass the exams, so your grades won’t suffer,” Alex suggests.

“How?! I will get in trouble, without a doubt!” Harry cries out.

Alex laughs before he explains the situation to Harry: “Nah, at this point, it doesn’t matter. Your life is on the line, and you, as a champion, can’t be forced to attend these classes. I think your survival takes precedence over some useless classes, right? As I said, you can still attend some of them if you want. Also, Menchi can help you out with Herbology and Potions. Tereza is attending different classes, some even in your year, and she’s skilled at dueling. You two should spar every day, as well! Rishi here knows nearly everything useful, aside from some magical topics. Most importantly, he should teach you about rational decisions, combat strategies, and how you should improve yourself—speaking about mentality here. Anyway, you have to use your time wisely, so commuting is stupid, and your house is pretty much fighting against you anyway, so you might as well ditch them for now!”

“It’s a good idea. We might as well commit at this point,” Rishi says with an approving nod.

Dearest Soulmate, you didn’t mention what Princess Jewel can do to support our young friend!

“Also, Jewel says she wants to help out. She can help you out with your Nen practice. She’s incredibly skilled and talented, at least on the same level as I am,” Alex explains.

❤️

“The spi… I mean, Jewel can use Nen?! Now I’m confused. What is Nen in the first place?!” Harry says, careful not to anger the little spider, honestly, a little scared of her.

“We’ll start tomorrow. Quickly gather your things and then come back… wait, Tereza, can you give me and Harry a ride? Might as well do it that way,” Alex suggests.

“Okay, though I dislike letting other people ride me, especially males. I’ll allow it once for Harry. Poor guy needs some help! It’s a good decision to help him, Alex. I’ll reward you for that later.”

“Ride…” Harry mumbles, blushing a little.

Suddenly, Jewel stabs her legs into the wooden table, deeply penetrating them into it.

“Woah!!” Harry yells out in shock and raises his hands in a defensive motion as Jewel walks toward Tereza, who swiftly picks her up for an eye-to-eye chat.

“Calm down, you silly spider. I’ll remember the deal, but I’m entitled to some relief!”

I’m strangely enjoying this feeling… Damn, I need to be careful not to blush. Just act dumb. I’d just wish it were two women and not one woman and a spider fighting over me. Well, that’s a start, I guess?!

Suddenly, Menchi appears behind them: “What deal? You better tell me now; I feel left out!”

“Menchi… ah, we have to get Harry’s things. I’ll tell you later!” Tereza quickly says and steps away from her green-haired friend.

“Suspicious…” she mutters, cleaning the table.

— [Scene Break] —

Alex carefully holds Harry so he doesn’t fall off, despite the harness, and enjoys the little night flight. Harry surprisingly enjoys it, as he’s used to riding a Hippogriff and his broom.

“This is wicked! Incredible, Tereza. I envy you. This is even better than riding my broom,” he says with a big smile.

This Peasant Ride is not suitable for Princess Jewel, but it’ll have to make do. Disappointing.

“Shut up, spider!” Tereza complains in her temporarily scary deep bat voice.

“Spider isn’t even an insu…— it’s just a fact…” Alex can’t help but mumble.

Together, they quickly approach the Gryffindor common room, located in one of the castle’s towers, and Harry directs them directly toward the window of his current bedroom.

Together, they stand on the outer side of the window as Tereza transforms into her hybrid form and casts Alohomora onto the window, opening the tiny lock on the other side.

They quickly enter the room, making Ron, lying on his own bed, get up in shock.

“What?! What’s going on here? Do you know how bloody late it is? Who are those people?!” Ron asks, slightly panicked, not recognizing Alex and Tereza in the dark.

“Shut up, or I’ll order my cute little spider to visit you every night!” Alex threatens, stepping into the room, now recognizable, scaring the crap out of Ron, obviously knowing about Alex and his pet.

Ron looks at Alex and Jewel in shock and is immediately frightened. “I… I need to go to the bathroom!” he says and quickly flees.

“Yeah, totally a Gryffindor, all right,” Tereza giggles.

Harry looks around and begins to pack his stuff, which consists of various clothes, books, his broom, school supplies, a few photo albums he treasures, and a few other things.

In less than 10 minutes, he’s done, and Tereza steps outside the window again, transforms, and flies Alex and Harry back to their house.

“Get some sleep. Training starts tomorrow!” Alex says with a smile, slightly nervous about opening his Aura nodes.

Never did it before, and since I’m not allowed to do it to people in the real world or other players, it’s a risk. Menchi needs to help me if things go south, or else I’m in big trouble for accidentally killing the main character of this world.

As everyone heads to bed, Alex looks slightly embarrassed at Tereza who looks dejected.

Jewel jumps from Alex’s head onto Tereza’s.

Dearest Soulmate, your Princess Jewel needs to spend some time to educate her silly peasant subjects. Don’t worry, you’ll soon be reunited with your Princess.

“I’m sorry… I have to borrow Jewel. We’ll be having a girls' sleep over tonight, there have been some issues,” she says looking embarrassed.

A girl's sleepover? Really? This is kinda hilarious. Well, a little bit of bonding can’t hurt as long as they don’t destroy the house.

“Have fun,” Alex says, suppressing a laugh.
