Era of Players: Death God

Chapter 265: Sixth Floor

Noah pressed onward, his resolve unwavering as he raced toward the end of the dungeon. Time was of the essence—he had less than three days to complete the system's mission. Each floor he conquered brought him closer to the ultimate goal, but the challenges were becoming increasingly daunting. As he descended to the sixth floor, he felt the familiar chill of the air wrap around him, thick with anticipation.

The moment he stepped into the new realm, he was greeted by a stunning sight: a vast white forest, where snow fell incessantly, blanketing the ground and coating the trees in a thick layer of frost. The branches of the towering evergreens bowed under the weight of the snow, creating an enchanting yet eerie atmosphere. It was beautiful, but he sensed danger lurking just beneath the surface.

Noah tightened his grip on Nemesis, the black blade gleaming ominously against the white landscape. As he ventured deeper into the forest, he noticed the silence that enveloped the area, broken only by the soft crunch of snow beneath his boots. It felt as though the entire forest was holding its breath, waiting for something to happen.

Before long, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. Shadows shifted among the trees, and he knew he was not alone. A low growl echoed through the air, sending a shiver down his spine. Emerging from the snowy thicket were giant snow wolves, their fur as white as the snow around them, blending seamlessly into their surroundings. Their eyes glowed a piercing blue, radiating intelligence and predatory instinct.

Noah counted at least a dozen of them, but as he scanned the area, he realized there were far more lurking just beyond his line of sight. The wolves were the rulers of this place, a pack that had claimed the forest as their territory. Their growls grew louder, a chorus of low, menacing sounds that echoed through the trees.

"Looks like I'm in for a fight," Noah muttered, his heart racing with excitement and determination. He could feel the adrenaline surging through him, heightening his senses as he prepared for the inevitable clash.

The lead wolf stepped forward, its massive frame imposing against the backdrop of the snowy forest. It let out a howl that pierced the silence, signaling the rest of the pack to join the fray. Noah didn't hesitate; he activated Shadow Steps and disappeared from sight, moving quickly to evade the initial charge.

The wolves lunged in unison, their powerful bodies moving with unmatched speed. Noah reappeared behind the lead wolf, slashing at its flank with Nemesis. The blade cut through fur and flesh, but the creature snarled, spinning around to face him, its eyes filled with rage.

"Come on, let's see what you've got!" Noah taunted, dodging to the side as the wolf aimed a powerful bite at him. He could feel the rush of air as its jaws snapped shut just inches from his face.

Noah countered swiftly, sending a series of rapid strikes toward the wolf. Each blow landed with precision, but the creature's thick hide absorbed much of the impact. It retaliated, swiping its massive paw at him, but he ducked low, rolling under the strike and coming up on the other side.

The pack wasn't just watching; they were circling him, their growls growing more intense. Noah could sense their strategy—one would attack while the others flanked him, trying to overwhelm him with sheer numbers. He needed to act fast.

"Let's turn up the heat!" he shouted, activating Hellfire once more. Black flames erupted around him, illuminating the snowy landscape with an eerie glow. The wolves hesitated, momentarily taken aback by the sudden surge of heat.

Noah seized the moment, launching himself at the nearest wolf. He slashed through the air, the flames igniting the creature's fur as he struck. The wolf yelped in pain, stumbling back as the fire spread, but Noah didn't stop. He moved fluidly from one wolf to the next, using the chaos to his advantage.

The pack began to scatter, but they quickly regrouped, their instincts kicking in as they strategized. The lead wolf, now singed and furious, rallied its pack. They charged in unison, a tidal wave of white fur and teeth.

Noah braced himself, activating Splitting Ripple Slash as they collided with him. A shockwave burst forth, sending the first few wolves sprawling back. He followed up with a flurry of strikes, each one imbued with a combination of speed and power. But as he fought, more wolves joined the fray, surrounding him.

He was outnumbered but not outmatched. Noah channeled his mana, focusing on his enhanced agility and strength. With each swing of Nemesis, he carved a path through the pack, but for every wolf he took down, two more seemed to take their place.

The snow was stained red as he fought, a stark contrast to the white landscape. He ducked and weaved, striking out at the wolves with relentless precision. Yet, he could feel the fatigue creeping in, the toll of the battle weighing heavily on him.

"Come on, you overgrown furballs! Is that all you've got?" he shouted, his voice echoing through the forest. The pack seemed to respond, their growls intensifying as they renewed their assault.

A massive wolf lunged at him from the side, its jaws snapping just inches from his arm. Noah sidestepped, feeling the rush of wind as it passed by. He countered with a swift kick to its side, sending it crashing into a nearby tree, where it yelped and collapsed.

But as he turned to face another wolf, he was suddenly struck from behind. A powerful blow sent him sprawling into the snow, the cold biting at his skin. Dazed, he quickly rolled to his feet, scanning for the source of the attack.

The lead wolf stood over him, its eyes blazing with fury. It lunged forward, teeth bared. Noah barely had time to react, raising Nemesis just in time to block the attack. The force of the impact reverberated through his arms, and he struggled to hold his ground.

"Enough!" he roared, channeling all his remaining strength into one final attack. He activated Gigantification, feeling his muscles swell with mana as he pushed back against the lead wolf with newfound power.

With a mighty swing, he brought Nemesis down in a sweeping arc. The blade connected with the wolf's side, slicing through fur and muscle. The creature howled in agony, staggering back as Noah pressed his advantage.

"Now! Finish this!" he shouted, his voice filled with determination. As the wolf reeled, he activated Seal of Death once again, the dark sigil flaring to life beneath its paws. For a brief moment, the creature was frozen in place, and Noah seized the opportunity.

He lunged forward, plunging Nemesis into the wolf's heart. The beast let out a final, horrific howl before collapsing into the snow, its body growing still.

With the lead wolf down, the remaining pack hesitated, their confidence shaken. Noah could see the fear in their eyes, and he took advantage of their doubt.

"You want to fight? Then come at me!" he taunted, raising his sword high.

As if sensing their leader's defeat, the remaining wolves began to retreat, slipping back into the forest with low growls of uncertainty. Noah stood amidst the fading storm, panting heavily, his body aching from the relentless battle.

He had won, but the fight had taken its toll. Glancing around at the snow-covered battlefield, he felt a mix of satisfaction and exhaustion. The forest was eerily quiet now, the only sound being the soft whisper of falling snow.

With a weary sigh, Noah wiped the sweat from his brow, his heart still racing from the adrenaline. He sheathed Nemesis, knowing that he needed to regroup and recover before pressing on.

As he caught his breath, he looked around at the serene white forest, now eerily peaceful after the chaos. The snow continued to fall gently, covering the ground in a fresh layer, as if erasing the evidence of the battle.

He had come this far, and there was no turning back now. He must complete this mission, there was a lot to earn after all. His golden shone as he recalled the rewards, he licked his lips in anticipation.
