Chapter 2081: Peace Restored In Aquarius
-----
"…"
Muramasa remained silent as he glanced at the sky.
"I am nothing but a fleeting memory of an once great swordsman that roamed Zipangu. But he was both betrayed and then eaten by the Eight-Headed Calamity."
"Orochi?!"
"Yes, that was his name I think… My soul slowly was digested, over eons… I was strong you see. When he died and then found you with the Sin of Gluttony, I was still inside of his Soul Stomach."
"And that's how you got out?!"
"Yeah, I believe so."
"That's… I didn't expect that, but it makes sense."
"When you awakened your Swordsmanship Techniques and started to ascend through your Understanding of the Heavenly Dao, I was able to connect to you… Your Limitless Path, the inspiration you felt, I helped ya."
"Wait, what?"
"And when you created that new Katana, it was me who guided you, my disciple. You created a good vessel for me, and in exchange, I shall lend you the Legacy of the Eternal Soul Blade."
"…Thank you, master. But even then, I wonder, what about your past? Do you have family? What is your true name? Were you a dragon? And…"
"Hoho, too many questions, young man. Spare me the headache. One thing at a time, will you? And well, I must go take my nap now! Being a sword is no easy feat! Goodbye and see you later."
"Wait…!"
Before Drake could speak with his master some more, Muramasa disappeared, as his body separated into Celestia and the other Spirits and Weapons making him.
"Ah, damn it," Drake cursed.
"Well, it is quite interesting, is it not?" Celestia asked. "Muramasa is certainly stronger than me, but he does lack some of my abilities and features… though I can't say I like being replaced."
"You'll never be replaced, Celestia… stop talking nonsense," Drake sighed. "I don't know how he does it but that old man simply summoned himself, for some reason."
"He did? So that's what happened…" Celestia wondered. "I wish we could talk… but I suppose for him to appear, I must go to sleep. It's quite annoying."
"I might one day find a way to create all of you in separate beings without needing fusions, but not now," Drake sighed in relief. "Nonetheless, it looks like they're done."
Drake walked towards his family and friends, the mist having disappeared after his battle against Katsuie Shibata, revealing a beautiful garden of cherry blossoms that had just bloomed yesterday, covering the entire area with pink petals, flying by the gentle sea breeze.
His family had overwhelmed the enemy as he thought, the Yokai Soldiers were slain, and even Coral, Rose, and Eleanor got a lot of workouts, while managing to level up a lot, becoming way stronger than before.
"Uncle Drake!" Coral said. "Y-You did it…! You really beat him!"
"W-Well! I never doubted him! Also that guy was far weaker than the Deep One, that thing was sure the horror!" Rose smiled confidently.
"Thank you for everything, Lord Drake!" Eleanor said in tears. "We were able to somehow win our battles, but they were sure hard…"
"We did our best dad!" Benladra nodded.
"It was easy compared to before," Kate said.
"Well done kids," Drake nodded, noticing Drakda eating a Yokai corpse. "Hey, Drakda! Don't eat just whatever thing, you might get a stomachache!"
"Look who's saying that don't think we didn't see you eating that guy," Yuki said, squinting her eyes at him.
"T-That's… not the same! I wanted whatever was inside his body, so that was the best way, I am literally the Demon King of Gluttony too!" Drake protested.
"Well done dear," Benladann said, kissing Drake.
"Yeah, you were really cool!" Miranda nodded, kissing him as well.
"And you did it all by yourself, well done!" Andromeda caressed his face.
It was as if they were praising him for being a "good boy" which made Drake both a bit angry as he was being slightly humiliated, but also happy they pampered him this much… he didn't like to admit it, but he liked motherly women.
"H-Hahaha, I just did what I had to," Drake said with a nervous giggle. "And well, that guy… Katsuie Shibata, he was strong. I won't ever forget him… He was our first taste of Zipangu's greatest warriors. To be honest, if I hadn't grown so strong in that battle back in Muspelheim, I don't know if I could have faced him. I would have struggled so much more. He was definitely powerful, surpassing Rank 10, especially after his transformation."
"He looked tough!" Benladra said. "But the castle… Hey dad you blew it up!"
"A-Ah! About that… oh yeah, right," Drake muttered, feeling nervous. "H-How about we go find the refugees first?! Right, let's hurry!"
He quickly diverted the attention from that mistake, as he and everyone else ran to the concentration camps, finding the people there being guarded by the last soldiers, who, after learning that their great general died, they surrendered peacefully.
Indeed, they didn't fight back or tried to kill the people they captured… it was strange, but they were more civilized than any foe Drake had fought, while at the same time being incredibly ruthless.
After Drake and his family helped the refugees get healed from their terrible states, they found the queen, the priestess, and Triton inside a tent, they were, according to Katsuie Shibata, "special guests" which the soldiers were not allowed to harm, as he saw them as valuable hostages.
This helped them in the long run, as they were well fed and kept in mostly comfortable places, although with cursed chains, sealing their magical abilities, and leaving them hopeless as they saw their people being used to extracting their energies from.
"E-Eleanor?! My daughter!"
"Mama!"
Anastasia ran towards Eleanor, her daughter, as she cried in her arms. She had missed her mother a great deal, and was hoping for the best, but had also feared the worst.
"Lord Drake and his family came back! They saved us all, mother!"
"I see… thank you… thank you for coming back…"
As mother and daughter cried while thanking Drake, he nodded at them, walking towards a little boy and his mother.
