Chapter 892: Updates and plans

The ship flew amid the slowly falling snow, the last one of the winter that Wu Long and his beauties missed, having spent that time away from these lands.

The Soft Meadow Continent was closing in on springtime which would last a bit more than a month, and would once again welcome a long summer.

And just like the weather, the conflict that grew colder during these months they were away, was about to gradually once again gain heat.

The ship eventually arrived in the Silver Wing City, landing just like it did at the Helian Family mansion, since there was no Sky Port here either, as crowds of curious people looked on from a distance.

Wei Yuanjie rented out an inn, having all the inn workers on paid leave and replacing them with Wu Family’s servants that Wu Long temporarily lended him.

Duan Feng’s group also stayed within the inn, as Wei Yuanjie’s guests.

And officially, Wu Long and his beauties were also staying in that inn as close associates of the prince.

With this Wu Long could openly meddle in the conflict on behalf of Wei Yuanjie, without exposing his connection to Zhao Xieren, Thousand Eyes Palace, or the Soaring Feather Trading Company.

The people from the ship weren’t aware about the fate of the bodyguards, and thus were thrown into confusion when Wei Yuanjie left the ship without them, and they were seemingly nowhere to be found.

There was also now something different about the 9th prince’s demeanor, as he flat our refused any of the ship crew, who were basically spies from the Emperor’s side, to follow him or even disembark.

But unlike the bodyguards they had far weaker positions within the hierarchy of power of the Wei Dynasty, which left them with no choice but to obey his command, as none of them could openly contradict him.

Wu Long, having passed from the inn to the Thousand Eyes Palace building in the city with Fen Baihu’s help, gathered a general meeting of all high-level members of the Eternal Duality Valley, during which they exchanged news and situation on both ends.

It was here that he introduced the Helian Family Head, Helian Murang, and Kai Huoshi to those present.

There was yet someone from the Symbol Arts Masters who could act as a leader reporting to Lian Zhiqiu, as she certainly wasn’t going to bother with actually managing her new Endless Symbol Palace.

But it was a problem for later.

“So we are certain that the Thousand Treasures Hall is the one ultimately behind the Iron Claw Group?”, Liang Yuhan clarified.

“It would appear so. Given that they are certainly basically proxies for the Silverleaf Trade Hall as reported by Zhao Biren”, Old Yen nodded, “And as we found out in the Emerald Falls City, the Silverleaf Trade Hall is deeply connected to the Thousand Treasures Hall”

“We can also be pretty certain now that the Thousand Treasures Hall placed their bet on the Crystal Wood Sect in this conflict, and likely made some kind of a deal. The Seven Scars Guild which turned out to be connected to the Bao Family was here for them to begin with”, Nie Xiwang noted.

“And the Silver Wing City’s Lord?”, Wu Long asked as he turned to Zhao Xieren.

The latter nodded, “Ko Fuan confirmed that his father is conspiring with the Seven Extreme Swords Sect, but he is uncertain on exact conditions as he is not completely in the loop”

Wu Long nodded, “That leaves the Ember Palm Pavilion, but they’ve already been approached by us”

“The reports say they tried to contact you three times, the last two were shorter apart”, Liang Yuhan added, puffing a cloud of herbal smoke into the air, as she took a bit of time to go through the reports of her Thousand Eyes Palace before the meeting.

“Heh, getting impatient huh… well, I did promise them golden mountains. I will start with them then. Though I will have to trouble you, Huan’er”, he chuckled, and then turned to Yu Huan who eagerly nodded.

“Of course, I am always ready. My Mystic Flame Pavilion has been slightly idle as of late, refining standard use pills only. With everything we brought, we can start being more active again”, she spoke with a gentle smile.

They got all the Alchemy Ingredients they needed and more while they were away, so they could start refining all kinds of pills now, including ones that were required for the Inner Court Elder and two Elders of the Ember Palm Pavilion that Wu Long brought to his side, to make their breakthroughs.

“What of the Three Pillars Sect and the Tiebi Mountain Sect?”, he turned to Zhao Xieren again.

“They have been steadily raising the levels of their members and training throughout this period, thanks to the cultivation techniques and battle skills you left”, the old man nodded.

“Are they at the level of being of use in the conflict?”

“They are… but I am still not sure how seriously the Ember Palm Pavilion is going to take them…”, Zhao Xieren spoke, not sure if a big Sect will conspire with two small local ones even if Wu Long brought up the level of both a bit.

“They’ll have no choice when the arrangements will be in place”, Wu Long chuckled, and then turning to Sui Luxiao asked, “What about the Soaring Feather Trading Company?”

“Mm, the start is not bad…”, she nodded, causing her three sons behind her to sigh with relief as they were waiting for her verdict as she was looking through the jade slip with all the reports, “…but not ideal either, just passable”

The faces of the three sons became nervous again.

She then added a more detailed explanation, which included the fact that they lacked a signature product, something that would put them above the small trading companies operating in the city, as well as give them a fighting chance against the Silverleaf Trade Hall.

For now, they were simply an average trading company which cut out a bit of general market for cultivation resources, mainly the refined Demonic Beast Cores.

“We couldn’t attract attention and of course subsequent hostility from the Silverleaf Trade Hall before, while we were away and couldn’t deal with any problems arising from that, since they are a hegemon on this continent, but now that we can start stepping on their toes, we need something good”, Sui Luxiao nodded.

“We will gradually introduce the Alchemy Pills onto shelves, as well as small land-based Beasts of Burden of the Helian Family, and maybe a few weapons made by the Thousand Tempers Hall with some time, though not much as we don’t have enough masters yet for a large-scale production, and we need their services primarily for ourselves”, Wu Long nodded.

And then added, “Besides, we could start selling Talismans soon as well, though that would be a drain on our stocks of Demonic Beast blood and some other ingredients”

“My Mercenaries should start working on that soon”, Cao Mei nodded, as supply of Demonic Beast-related ingredients, as well as commonly found in the open ingredients, was one of the goals of her creating her own separate force from her Mother’s.

Wu Long nodded, and then chuckled, “But if you’re thinking of really starting a fight with the Silverleaf Trade Hall, I will give you that ‘specialty’ soon”

Sui Luxiao smiled, knowing what his plans were.

After all, they first considered postponing the confrontation on the trade company front, which now came ahead since their opponents included a trading company with a stake in the conflict.

Song Minfu and General Feng gave reports on the status of the Sect and combat training of the members respectively, after which the rest of the meeting focused on the reorganization of the Sect with the new members and organizations, and the integration of the Mystic Realm City more closely into the Sect’s daily operations, as well as detailed discussion of future plans of expansion.

Once again, most of the Eternal Duality Valley entered the Mystic Realm, emptying the Oak Fortress for the most part and leaving only a small part there as base of operations on the continent, as the time Wu Long was away was enough of a sobering experience to not relax in training and keep them alert, eliminating the signs of complacency that Wu Long was worried about seeing.

The sparks that Luo Mingyu left, elevating the cultivation of her Divine Enlightenment Palace members, also generated a massive effect, as Wu Long was scheduled to oversee great numbers of Heavenly Tribulations for the members of the Sect who were on the verge of advancing, and many more were coming closer to that point.

It was due to that, that Cao Mei’s Mercenaries were about to resume full-scale work, since they gained enough strength to venture out into the wild and also would lose the aura of the Boundless Mortal World as soon as they pass their Tribulations.

The workers of the Soaring Feather Trading Company now could help in the construction of both the Infinite Tempers Hall and the Endless Symbol Palace, as well as help the Helian Family establish their pastures and beast feed-growing fields in the vast plains a bit away from the Sect within the Mystic Realm, massively speeding up the rather slow progress of those.

Hehe, a bit of a procedural chapter of things that couldn’t be skipped, but more on the side of organizing things. ^^
