Chapter 1038: Enhancing His Life Essence

TL: GoldenLung

Sitting beside Tang Wulin, Lan Xuanyu felt an unprecedented sense of security, like a small boat finally reaching a safe harbor, no longer needing to worry about anything.

There was no intense energy fluctuation emanating from Tang Wulin, only a gentle aura that brought peace to Lan Xuanyu’s mind and soothed his spirit.

A soft energy was also emanating from the Silver Dragon Egg in front of him—an exquisite sensation brought about by elemental transformation. Lan Xuanyu’s heart quickly calmed, and a faint smile appeared on his face.

This was what it felt like to be with family. Though he hadn’t yet spoken the words, he already understood the relationship between them.

Time passed slowly. The blood within Lan Xuanyu flowed naturally, and his soul power circulated of its own accord. Gradually, he entered a state of forgetting both himself and the world. His spiritual, bloodline, and soul powers were slowly converging into one. His entire being began to subtly transform.

Unbeknownst to him, layers of faint golden halos were surging toward him from all directions, falling upon his body like ripples, cleansing him.

An unprecedented sense of comfort spread through him, and Lan Xuanyu’s aura silently began to change.

The emotional impact of seeing Tang Wulin and the Silver Dragon Egg was so great that Lan Xuanyu had even forgotten about the Space Worm.

No one knew how much time had passed, but the whirlpool of his bloodline began to spin faster, the gold and silver within it growing brighter.

A deep, powerful dragon roar, followed by a high, clear one, echoed through his sea of spirit.

His spiritual sea naturally linked with his bloodline vortex, and his soul power began to tremble.

There was no doubt—compared to his last breakthrough, this time he lacked sufficient accumulation. So, when the auras of the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King began to stir and collide, the mighty power hidden in his bloodline gradually awakened. A terrifying energy instantly pulled Lan Xuanyu out of his blissful state, replacing it with excruciating pain.

Just then, a refreshing energy quietly entered from the top of his head. That energy flowed to every corner of his body, gradually soothing the agony he had just begun to feel.

But soon, the searing pain returned.

Once again, that refreshing energy reappeared. Like a sealant filling cracks, it seeped into every part of Lan Xuanyu’s body, compensating for his deficiencies and enabling him to endure the clash of those two vastly different forces.

Tang Wulin had already opened his eyes and was now looking at Lan Xuanyu, watching the increasingly intense pale golden halos descending upon him.

Golden and silver scales appeared on both sides of Lan Xuanyu’s body, while colorful scales formed on his chest. His aura was growing more and more unstable.

For Lan Xuanyu, this was essentially a forced breakthrough. According to his original plan, he intended to consume more heavenly treasures or cultivate at the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well to improve his cultivation. He had never expected to break through now—he merely wanted to absorb some resources acquired from the Dragon Realm.

But the path Tang Wulin had prepared for him was clearly different.

Lan Xuanyu didn’t know that he was now being bathed in the purest planetary source of life energy of the entire Douluo planet. Although the Dragon God bloodline was incredibly powerful, in his current state, the life energy of Douluo Star's source was still capable of suppressing it.

What Tang Wulin sought to do was elevate Lan Xuanyu’s fundamental life essence through this planetary energy—raising it to god-level before his cultivation reached that stage. This would help him endure the transition to the sixth soul ring.

This was a baptism by the purest divine-tier life energy—undeniably an extravagant act. But for Lan Xuanyu, it was worth it.

After breaking through to the Super God level, Tang Wulin had been in seclusion—not to consolidate his own cultivation, but to fortify the final seal within his body.

Back then, after his birth, his father Tang San sent him from the Divine Realm back to the Douluo Continent because, during the turmoil in the Divine Realm, the awakened Golden Dragon King attempted to wreak havoc amid the threat of space-time turbulence. Just before being slain by the God King Tang San, the Golden Dragon King forcibly extracted all his essence and implanted it into the newborn Tang Wulin’s body, aiming to destroy him from within.

In a moment of crisis, Tang San placed eighteen seals on Tang Wulin to suppress the Golden Dragon King's power. But in the Divine Realm, where he continued to absorb divine energy, the seals would not suffice to protect him—thus he was sent to the Douluo Continent to gradually absorb the Golden Dragon King's power.

Tang San also had another reason: if the Divine Realm were eventually destroyed by the space-time turbulence, at least his bloodline would remain.

Tang Wulin had spent his life battling the power of the Golden Dragon King infused in him, constantly absorbing and suppressing its frenzied consciousness. Even when he and Gu Yuena were sealed in ice, he had only broken through sixteen of the seals. The last two were extremely dangerous and remained intact.

After ten thousand years of accumulation, he finally chose to break the seventeenth seal to save Gu Yuena. Upon doing so, he gained a deeper understanding of divine power. The Super God level was equivalent to the level of a First-Rank God in the former Divine Realm.

After the Dragon God was defeated, he was split in two by the Asura God's sword—becoming the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King. The Dragon God had been a peak-level God King. Even split, both parts retained near-God-King level power, far above First-Rank Gods. However, neither Tang Wulin nor Gu Yuena dared to reach that height, as incomplete power could lead to losing control.

Without a Divine Realm, regardless of how high the energy level of a world is, the maximum cultivation threshold was at the First-Rank God levl. This was a law of the universe. To become a God King, one had to possess a Divine Seat, only then can they ascend.

If Tang Wulin were to break the final seal, he would first face the last backlash of the Golden Dragon King's consciousness—a force he likely couldn’t resist. Then his power would exceed the First-Rank God level, making him subject to universal rejection. Without a divine seat, the only outcome would be self-destruction.

Although Gu Yuena hadn’t reached the First-Rank God level, her limit was the same. She wouldn't go insane like him, but she too would face rejection if she pushed further.

Tang Wulin could already feel this looming threat.

But Lan Xuanyu was different—his body contained both the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King bloodlines. Normally, such power would have torn a child apart. Fortunately, he met Nana, who used a rotating technique to stabilize the two forces. Over time, Lan Xuanyu absorbed, transformed, and fused them into his own power.

The colorful energy at the center of his bloodline vortex was that fusion. While it wasn’t yet true Dragon God energy, it gave him the possibility of becoming the Dragon God.

The Dragon God was unique. Its divine seat had always existed, embedded in the Dragon God Core. As a peak God King and creator of the Divine Realm, if Lan Xuanyu truly took that step in the future, even if rejected by the universe, he could create a Divine Realm of his own.

This galaxy needed a Divine Realm.
