Dominate the Super Bowl

Chapter 766: 765 No Mercy

Chapter 766: 765 No Mercy

Boom.

Li Wei felt a burning sensation above his left shoulder, the pain was intense. Not just the power, the nails grabbed his shoulder pads like eagle’s claws, pulling them down, the edges of the armor cutting into his flesh, the force of the jerk momentarily upsetting the balance.

Ugh.

Li Wei grunted, but clenched his teeth hard. He let his left shoulder sink with the force, unloading most of the power concentrated there.

His knees wobbled, his calves trembled, and his staggering steps nearly brought him to his knees; but in the end, he shook off Leonard’s force.

Then, he continued forward.

Li Wei pushed against the ground.

Leonard did the same.

Neither man had completely lost their balance, they both staggered forward; but now the gap was apparent.

Leonard gambled it all, pouring out all his power at once. As his balance toppled, his upper body was nearly parallel to the ground, his steps faltering, seeming on the verge of collapse.

In contrast, Li Wei showed excellent core strength, perfectly unloading the force and quickly regaining his center of gravity amidst the chaos, soon sprinting again.

At the twenty-five-yard line, Li Wei and Leonard were neck and neck.

At the twenty-yard line, Leonard was still wobbling, while Li Wei had already straightened his upper body.

By the fifteen-yard line, Leonard had finally regained his balance, but Li Wei was in full sprint.

The gap widened again, visible to the naked eye.

“Li Wei…”

“Li Wei!”

No extra words were needed, “Li Wei” could be an exclamation, a verb, or an adverb, perfectly expressing the emotions of the moment.

“Li Wei is running, Li Wei is picking up speed, the Edgerunner once again showing his strength, crushing down with absolute velocity, leaving Leonard behind.”

“My God, unbelievable!”

“Leonard had a chance, the Indianapolis Colts defensive players all had chances, but they all missed!”

“Li Wei breaks through with an unmatched performance again, leaving all in his wake.”

“Leonard hasn’t given up, Leonard is still running, trying to catch up with Li Wei, but—”

“We are talking about Li Wei, currently the league’s top running back.”

“When Li Wei releases his speed without reserve, he is the number one in the league, maybe even his teammate Hill can’t catch up.”

“Li Wei! Li Wei is accelerating!”

“Ten-yard line!”

“Five-yard line!”

“End zone!”

“Touchdown!”

“Li Wei, touchdown!”

Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, Arrowhead Stadium goes wild again.

Felix clenched his fists, roaring at the television screen: Ah, ah!

It was anger and passion, fighting spirit and courage.

As if Death itself stood before him, Felix issued his defiance, refusing to disarm or surrender, putting up a struggle with all his might.

Karen looked at Felix, her eyes reddening, a surge of emotion welling up, almost breaking her down; but she took a deep breath, controlled herself, and then joined Felix in a self-forgetting roar.

While shouting, a surge of pride rose in her heart, and the corners of her mouth lifted.

The whole world seemed to shake.

Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh.

Jenna hadn’t even realized it herself; almost like a reflex, she clenched her fists, stood up, and a cheer naturally burst forth.

Just as she had yelled out, Jenna became aware of her own abnormal reaction, grew slightly constrained, and stopped, but a turn of her head allowed her to see Jeff and Annie’s joy.

They were still raising their arms high, still cheering with all their might, their joy and happiness surfacing without reservation, almost as if to ignite the air.

Without telling, Jenna also relaxed, only then realizing that this was normal.

Looking at Annie, with a thin layer of sweat permeating her forehead, Jenna’s heart tightened, and she quickly grabbed a towel to wipe the sweat away—

Annie couldn’t catch a cold. Due to her low immunity, a cold might lead to a fever, which could then trigger a series of potential complications, and things could get very tricky.

It was for this reason that Jenna couldn’t allow Annie to go to Arrowhead Stadium to watch the game in person.

Even at home, Jenna still felt like she was walking on thin ice, her nerves always tense.

Annie didn’t resist and obediently stood in place, waiting for Jenna to finish wiping her dry, her smile fully blooming, “I told you, Mom, Li Wei is the best running back in the world. When he runs on the field, nothing else matters; he is the storm.”

Jenna nodded in response, a bit haphazardly.

Annie raised her arms high, “Edgerunner!”

Jeff also began to shout along.

Jenna looked on helplessly at the father and daughter before her.

Annie turned back to the television screen, “Ah, what a pity, I want to watch Li Wei reach the end zone in person. Mom, do you know? It’s different, really different, Li Wei is like lightning…”

Jenna interrupted, “I thought Li Wei was like a storm.”

Annie looked up at the sky in dejection, “Mom!”

Jenna surrendered.

Annie swallowed hard, “It’s really different. Mom, please, promise me? For the next league finals, we absolutely have to go and watch it at the stadium, okay?”

Jenna kept her mouth tightly shut.

Annie quickly sought backup, “Dad.”

Jeff also immediately put on a pitiful expression, “Jenna…”

With an expression of helpless resignation, Jenna thought Jeff was unreliable, always leaving her to play the bad cop, “If the doctor allows it.”

Upon hearing her mother finally relent, Annie cheered, “Oh yeah!”

Jenna tried to temper the expectations, “Annie, if the doctor allows it, did you hear? If the doctor…”

But Annie was already beyond listening, raising her hands high, running wildly around the room, “Li Wei! Li Wei!”

“He’s here, he’s there, he’s everywhere, he is the Edgerunner, Li Wei Li Wei Li Wei!”

Over and over, cheering and singing to their hearts’ content.

With a mix of helplessness and bitterness, Jenna gave Jeff a stern look; Jeff silently wrapped his wife in his arms, “I know, I understand everything, but who can resist this little rascal? Jenna, didn’t you see? Annie is smiling.”

Caught off guard, Jenna felt a warm surge to her eyes, and she hurriedly wiped them clean while taking a deep breath, resting her chin on Jeff’s chest as she looked up, “That chant, how does the cheer go again?”

Jeff began to laugh cheerily, then quickly started running after Annie like a little tail, joining in the singing.

Jenna stood quietly on the side, murmuring to herself, repeating the words, humming along with Annie and Jeff, her gaze inevitably returning to Arrowhead Stadium engulfed in a sea of fire on the television. The vibrant energy penetrated the screen and seemed to sprinkle down as if it could truly touch the pulse of life.

Perhaps, this was the allure of competitive sports.

“After the halftime break, the Kansas City Chiefs still showed no signs of slowing down, their fluid offense once again shredding the Indianapolis Colts’ defense, continuing to widen the gap with an incomparable posture.”

“No mercy!”

“Honestly, Richie knows they need to stop the Kansas Chiefs Offense, and we all know the Indianapolis Colts’ Defensive group must block the opponent, otherwise even with Luck’s Football god powers, they wouldn’t be able to turn the tide.”

“But…”

“They can’t stop him. Li Wei once again ignited Arrowhead Stadium with his unbelievable performance, breaching the defense four times back and forth, single-handedly playing the Colts’ whole defense line in the palm of his hand, scoring his third personal touchdown of the game.”

“Strong, simply too strong.”

“So, after resting for two weeks, it turned out Li Wei had been sharpening his knives all this time; his high-spirited fighting spirit exploded, he went berserk, completely and utterly berserk.”
