Divine Harem: My Sect of Heavenly Beauties

Chapter 258: The Desparate Ones

Shen gestured Xu Ming to calm down and then looked back at the camera. He had already prepared for this.

"I know many of you know him and may have also suffered under his hands. However, I want you to understand his situation too. He was a slave, just like you. Could you ignore the orders of those beasts?"

He sighed.

"I know it isn't easy to forgive someone who inflicted wounds on you, both mentally and physically. But I'm not asking for forgiveness either. I want you to give him a chance to redeem himself."

Smiling, he said,

"After all, he also fought for your freedom, and he is not just any random person but the head of the slave organization. Yes, he not only fought one of the strongest beings of this Empire but also killed her so that she couldn't enslave anyone anymore."

He patted Xu Ming's back and said,

"He is just like you and understands your pain more than I do. He is also powerful enough to protect you, so I hope you give a chance to him until everything stabilizes for everyone. Then, you can elect the people whom you want to lead everyone."

His eyes turned icy, as he added,

"Of course, this is both a request and an order. Whatever you may consider."

Xu Ming took that as a cue for him to say something, as he bowed his head slightly and said,

"I would have apologized, but words mean little to nothing. So, I wish to show my intentions through my actions, and for that, I need your cooperation. Please, help me in creating a place with no slavery, where people get equal opportunities and have the choice to live their lives."

Then, Shen Yu took over again as he said,

"That's it for now. I will inform you all when it's time to shift to your new place and will personally help with it. Until then, I hope you consider this proposal and choose the right option. Have a good day!"

Just like that, the live streaming ended, leaving the people with many questions. But they also knew a few things, such as how they were free now, even if it seemed false at first glance.

The Senter Valley buzzed with noises, as everyone discussed what had happened with each other. The majority of the people had no idea who Xu Ming was, and knowing that he actually killed the person responsible for their misery, they were happy to have him as a leader.

As for those who knew him, even if they felt bitter, they decided to give him a chance. For them, someone who went through the same experience as they did would make a better leader as he would understand them better.

There were some who held ambitions, but they knew they were also powerless, so they just decided to wait for their chances.

Shen Yu observed everything while closing his eyes and smiling. It was just as he had expected.

"Thank you, Master. I will not fail your expectations," Xu Ming swore, still keeping his head down.

Shen Yu waved his hand and said, "Just take care of them. I'll be happy just with that."

Then, he looked at Vanish, who was fidgeting on her seat as if wanting to speak but hesitating. He asked, "Do you have something to say?"

Vanish flinched slightly, but nodded and decided to express her thoughts. "Master, we have saved all the people forced into being slaves, but they are just those who were being sold. What about the people who are still working as slaves?"

Hearing her words, Stone and Xu Ming raised an eyebrow, as they hadn't thought about that at all. She was right—there were still people out there who were suffering from this torment.

Shen Yu just smiled at that, as he had expected it too. There were just too many things to do, and he also needed to make sure he wasn't being too overbearing in that.

His motive was simply to give the people the chance to choose their life, even if it meant they would become criminals. Of course, that also meant they would be dealt with according to the laws—laws that he and everyone would decide.

That was one of the reasons he didn't immediately save other slaves along with the ones who were trapped in the slave organization. Since they asked, he decided to share his thoughts.

"Those people have a life now, even if it's cruel. They have attachments there, which some wouldn't let go. If I just forcibly transfer all of them away from their lives, it would be like forcing my righteousness on them, which many wouldn't like."

Lan Ming grew confused by that and asked, "But Master, they are living a life without any freedom. Why would anyone prefer that? Who would choose some attachments over their freedom?"

Shen Yu closed his eyes and responded, "Their life is a mess—a cruel reality, if I may say. And people with such a life hardly form attachments, but they do long for them. Now, imagine someone like them makes an attachment; do you think they would let go of it that easily?"

He smirked and said, "If I separated them from their attachment, they would just blame me for it. That's why I will give them a choice. A choice between their freedom or their attachment. It will surely put them in a dilemma, but ultimately it will be their choice."

Lan Ming fell silent upon hearing that, as she remembered Shen Yu's past life. She said with a nod, "I see, then that is what we will do. But what about those people who want to get away at any cost?"

Shen Yu chuckled at that. "The desperate ones, huh. I have plans for them too. I just didn't save them along with the others because desperate people can be dangerous, even if they mean no harm."

He stood up and said, "Since you all reminded me of it, I'll first do this then."

Saying that, he raised his right hand and clicked his fingers, his eyes seeing far beyond the walls of the caves. They highlighted an area just outside of the Senter Valley base.

With quick movements of his fingers, Shen Yu established another base there—a place for other desperate people whom he would save.
