Chapter 1237: Chapter 1238: Revisit
“Looks like I should make some preparations too.”
With a sigh, Old Wei put down the pen in his hand and rubbed his shoulders. He turned to look at the mysterious spear placed aside. That spearhead had a strange pattern on it, and although the metal used to make the spear was black, one could still see the bloodstains that couldn’t be wiped away. A peculiar aura lingered around the spear, making it seem extraordinarily ominous.
“I know he’s here, but I don’t like to pin my hopes on others.”
Old Wei talked to himself, picked up the spear, and swung it around. After a moment, he chuckled self-deprecatingly and said,
“I’m indeed not as strong as him, but that’s no reason for me to just stand by and watch. I thought you’d tell me to mind my own business.”
“True, if it weren’t for this, you would have…”
“Perhaps, maybe once he leaves, the last bit of my sentiment will no longer exist. But that’s something for the future, isn’t it?”
Shaking his head, Old Wei waved the spear and stepped into the darkness. The darkness around the hut surged toward the burning lampstand like a tide. No one knew why Old Wei preferred not to use electric lights in his room but instead that old lamp, which had been used for who knows how many years—however, its lighting effect was much better than ordinary electric lights. Maybe that’s why Old Wei used it?
The darkness receded, leaving only the faint light coming through the window. The lamp had extinguished in the darkness.
What do you think?
