DESTINY VILLAIN: Rebirth of the Thieving Immortal

Chapter 4: Framing the Future Hero

# **Chapter 4: Framing the Future Hero**

Zhao Li sat in his dimly lit study, a smirk playing on his lips as he penned a letter. The words he wrote would alter the course of Lin Feng’s fate. With a single stroke of his brush, he created **an anonymous tip** claiming that Lin Feng had **stolen the Jiang Family’s Heavenly Jade Medallion**—a priceless treasure that could enhance cultivation speed.

Of course, Lin Feng had never even seen the medallion before. But facts didn’t matter. **In a world where strength was absolute, reputation was just as important.**

Zhao Li **sent the letter through an underground informant**, ensuring that it landed in the hands of the Jiang Family’s elders.

A few days later, the response came faster than he expected.

**The Jiang Family was furious.**

Believing the lie without question, they immediately dispatched their **elite assassins** to hunt Lin Feng down. Zhao Li chuckled as he watched from the shadows.

*"Let’s see how you grow strong when you’re busy running for your life."*

At that moment, **Lin Feng was still just an ordinary student** with no cultivation. He had no idea that an entire family of powerful cultivators had marked him for death.

The first attack came when Lin Feng was walking home from school. A group of black-clothed men **suddenly surrounded him**, their eyes cold and ruthless.

“Lin Feng, hand over the Jiang Family’s treasure, and we might let you live.”

Lin Feng’s heart pounded. “What treasure?! I don’t even know what you’re talking about!”

The assassins didn’t care. The Jiang Family had given them a simple order: **kill Lin Feng and retrieve the stolen medallion.**

Lin Feng **barely managed to escape**, but he was now a hunted man. He was forced into hiding, running from city to city, unable to train, unable to cultivate. **His destined rise to power was delayed**—exactly as Zhao Li had planned.

While Lin Feng struggled, **Zhao Li was already making his next move.**

Jiang Qingqing—the proud and talented young lady of the Jiang Family—was supposed to meet Lin Feng under **dramatic circumstances** in the original timeline. Lin Feng would have saved her from danger, winning her trust and admiration. Eventually, she would have become **his strongest supporter and first woman.**

But Zhao Li wasn’t going to let that happen.

He followed **Jiang Qingqing’s movements** closely, knowing that she would soon be traveling alone. As expected, a group of **mercenary assassins**—rivals of the Jiang Family—ambushed her.

This was where Lin Feng **should** have saved her.

Instead, **Zhao Li arrived first.**

As the assassins closed in on Jiang Qingqing, **Zhao Li struck like a phantom.**

**His cultivation—strengthened by the Nine Heavens Immortal Scripture—was far above what these mercenaries expected.** Within moments, their bodies fell to the ground, lifeless.

Jiang Qingqing, still in shock, looked at Zhao Li in disbelief.

“Who… are you?” she asked, her voice unsteady.

Zhao Li **offered a calm, confident smile.**

“Just a passerby.”

He turned to leave, making it seem as though saving her was **an afterthought**. This subtle act made an even stronger impression on her.

“Wait,” she called out. “You saved my life. I owe you a debt.”

Zhao Li simply nodded. “No debt is needed. But if fate wills it, we may meet again.”

With that, he disappeared into the night, **leaving Jiang Qingqing with a heart full of gratitude and curiosity.**

While Zhao Li **secured Jiang Qingqing’s admiration**, Lin Feng was still struggling **just to survive.**

Every time he stopped to rest, assassins **tracked him down**. He had no chance to train, no resources, and no allies.

And when he finally managed to reach the Jiang Family **to clear his name**—he was met with **cold indifference.**

Jiang Qingqing, the woman who should have been his salvation, now barely remembered his name. Instead, **her heart had already begun leaning toward another man.**

Zhao Li had **successfully stolen both Lin Feng’s first opportunity and his first woman.**

**The future was already changing.**
