Chapter 877 - Departure
Chapter 877 - Departure
The ice dao technique had formed into a colossal mountain, causing the surrounding space to shatter under its crushing weight, and raging gales swept toward it.
Qi Yang's ultimate attack was shattered without mercy. Though he was strong, Liu Wuxie was stronger.
After using four attacks in a row, Liu Wuxie's power began to stack, driving Qi Yang to the brink of throwing up blood. This gave everyone a misconception that Liu Wuxie's combat strength was a bottomless abyss.
Regardless of his opponents, Liu Wuxie's strength could grow accordingly with no limit.
"I refuse to accept this!" Qi Yang roared but could do nothing as he watched the ice dao technique descend.
The White Dragon Peak's elder wanted to intervene multiple times but didn't dare to make a move. He was still haunted by the memory of being slapped by Elder Madman.
Suddenly, he narrowed his eyes, spotting a gray-robed elder standing not far away. The man had a disheveled, filthy appearance, a wine jar clutched in his hand.
The appearance of Elder Madman made Elder He shudder, and his thoughts of intervening vanished instantly.
A dragon roar echoed through the heavens as the dao technique devoured Qi Yang. His sword aura shattered into countless pieces before he was encased in ice and fell to the ground. Before his death, his face twisted with unwillingness, unable to accept that someone at the True Profound Realm had killed him.
A crowd fell silent for a few minutes before cold gasps broke out. No one had expected Qi Yang to be killed in this fight.
As the ice began to crack up and disintegrate, the laws and blood essence from his body were devoured by the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron, leaving behind an empty husk.
Liu Wuxie descended from the sky when the battle was over. He swept his gaze across the crowd, and the disciples who had mocked him earlier lowered their heads, not daring to look him in the eyes.
A terrifying aura continued to linger, and disciples at the True Profound Realm all felt suffocating pressure. This was the divine dragon power.
"Liu Wuxie, you have truly opened our eyes today," Liu Feng said, rushing forward and giving Liu Wuxie a heartfelt embrace.
Aside from the three senior brothers at Heavenly Gate Peak, Liu Wuxie had no friends except for Liu Feng and Liu Xin'er.
A faint smile rose on Liu Wuxie's lips as he withdrew his aura before leaving with Liu Feng and Liu Xin'er. They ignored the voices in the surroundings, passing through the crowd and disappearing.
Only then did the crowd gradually come to their senses.
"The rise of a monstrous genius!" Bitter smiles spread through the onlookers.
Though Liu Wuxie hadn't reached the level of a holy son, his combat strength was already equivalent to one. Strangely enough, Liu Wuxie's ranking didn't rise to the first place after killing Qi Yang, but his ranking settled at fourth.
This meant the top three on the Mortal Ranking were much stronger, possessing the strength to slay enemies at the Spirit Profound Realm.
However, Liu Wuxie didn't care about that, as ranking meant little to him.
Liu Lin stood among the crowd with a sinister look in his eyes. His father had told him to get rid of Liu Wuxie no matter what, but he realized that the gap between them had only grown wider.
Over a dozen disciples stood in a corner, and they were from the Profound Cloud Sect.
"The Sect Master has issued an order to kill Liu Wuxie to avenge Ning Hai and Wei Wang."
The news of Liu Wuxie killing Wei Wang had reached the Profound Cloud Sect. After all, there were so many people present. Their investigation had revealed that Liu Wuxie had killed Wei Wang and Ning Hai.
"We'll have to send disciples at the high levels of the Spirit Profound Realm." The Profound Cloud Sect's disciples weren't weak. There were three holy sons in this group, but they didn't dare to act against Liu Wuxie.
Liu Wuxie became the center of discussion, his name spreading like wildfire after slaying Qi Yang. Even the disciples of the Myriad Phase Cavern were shocked—none of them had expected such a monstrous prodigy to emerge.
"Wuxie, you're leaving the Central Plains?" Liu Feng asked. He was shocked to hear that Liu Wuxie was leaving.
"I have to make a trip back to the Southern Province as I have family and friends awaiting my return," Liu Wuxie replied. Along the way, he had already shared his upcoming plans with Liu Feng and Liu Xin'er.
He already possessed the strength to protect himself, and his safety was assured if he didn't run into anyone at the Earth Profound Realm. Even if he faced someone at the high levels of the Spirit Profound Realm, he was confident he had the means to escape.
"I won't try to stop you, but you must be careful. Come back as soon as you've settled things. The sacred ground will open in only half a year. Don't miss it!" Liu Feng said. He was aware of Liu Wuxie's affairs in the Southern Province. His in-laws, wife, and friends were there.
It made sense for him to return and tie up the loose ends before returning.
"Alright!" Liu Wuxie had also heard of the sacred ground, a mythical place that opened once every five years.
Liu Wuxie didn't return to his hut after arriving at the Heavenly Gate Peak but went directly to Elder Madman's hut. Time was pressing, and he planned to depart the next day.
"I would like to seek an audience!" Liu Wuxie bowed outside the hut.
"Come back quickly," Elder Madman said, already knowing what Liu Wuxie was going to say.
Liu Wuxie froze in surprise but soon figured out that Elder Madman must've heard his conversation with Liu Feng. He was present in the Star Eclypse Valley.
A warm current flowed through Liu Wuxie's heart. He realized that the White Dragon Peak's elders hadn't intervened, likely out of fear for Elder Madman.
Though Elder Madman was a man of few words, nothing escaped his gaze.
"Understood!" Liu Wuxie replied and clasped his hands together before returning to his hut to examine today's harvest. A smile soon appeared on his face after checking through Qi Yang's interspatial ring.
"As expected of a holy son—he's truly wealthy." There were thousands of Azure Cloud Pills, and he could take them back to nurture members of the Heavenly Dao Society. It was time for Fan Zhen and the others to grow stronger.
There weren't many spirit stones as Qi Yang had just reached the fourth level of the Spirit Profound Realm. He had consumed a big portion, leaving only a few million.
There was also a pile of spiritual herbs, which Liu Wuxie could use to refine pills. He took out the alchemy cauldron and waved his hand, unleashing terrifying demonic flames.
The spiritual herbs began to vanish, and a pill fragrance soon filled the Heavenly Gate Peak. For the entire night, countless profound beasts gathered outside Liu Wuxie's hut, drawn by the potent aroma of the pills.
Liu Wuxie didn't expel them, allowing them to absorb the lingering essence. Even Fiery lay comfortably inside the room, soaking in the fragrance, while Liu Wuxie occasionally fed it a few pills.
Fiery had grown sturdier and taller with faint traces of a Qilin now. The red fur also gleamed like steel needles, capable of piercing into flesh but pleasant to touch when soft.
Two horns sprouted from its head, giving it a ferocious appearance. When it opened its mouth, flames could be seen brewing, ready to burst forth.
Through the night, Liu Wuxie had refined thousands of tenth-grade pills. He had no intention of refining spiritual pills, as Bi Gongyu and the others wouldn't be able to withstand their potency. Even if he gave them spiritual pills, they would die from the overflow of energy before they could digest it.
First-grade spiritual pills offered little help to him, and he couldn't refine second-grade spiritual pills for now. So, he could only resort to refining tenth-grade pills.
When dawn arrived, Liu Wuxie emerged from his hut and didn't bother his master. He summoned Fiery and mounted it before they vanished from the Heavenly Gate Peak.
Only after Liu Wuxie left did Elder Madman open his door and stand on the peak, gazing into the distance.
"This journey will be fraught with danger. Your fortune star has veered off course, growing dim. May you turn peril into opportunity and find safety," Elder Madman muttered to himself before he began forming seals as if he were calculating something.
He didn't intervene, knowing that some paths had to be walked alone, despite the dangers ahead.
After leaving the Heavenly Gate Peak, Liu Wuxie rode on Fiery, heading out of the academy.
According to Liu Wuxie's understanding, Fiery would soon become a spiritual beast. But even spiritual beasts were incapable of flight except aerial profound beasts.
Yet, Fiery possessed the ability to fly, surprising Liu Wuxie significantly.
No one knew that Liu Wuxie had left the Heavenly Spirit Celestial Academy, with the majority believing he was cultivating on the Heavenly Gate Peak.
After two days of travel, Liu Wuxie neared the Liu Clan. Before leaving, he planned to visit his parents, passing through a large city where he intended to use the teleportation array.
Three days later, he arrived at Astral Glory City and swiftly made his way toward the Liu Clan.
"I heard the Liu Clan is having an internal strife that has been going on for days. I wonder how it will turn out?" Liu Wuxie heard people talking along the way, and he slowed down. With only an hour left before reaching the Liu Clan, he wasn't in a hurry.
He slipped into a small teahouse by the roadside, where the discussion had come from. "What's this conflict in the Liu Clan you mentioned?" he asked casually.
The man glanced at Liu Wuxie's harmless appearance and answered honestly. "You haven't heard? The Liu Clan is splitting apart—the infighting has been going on for days!"
"Split?" Liu Wuxie murmured. He knew Liu Xiaotian had likely returned and planned to leave with his faction since he couldn't become the patriarch. If he succeeded, the Liu Clan's status would undoubtedly plummet.
Liu Xiaotian had won over many people, extending his influence beyond just his faction. If he took them with him, it would deal a severe blow to the Liu Clan. Their status would plummet, and they might no longer even qualify as a first-tier clan.
Liu Wuxie knew his grandfather wouldn't allow that, which was the root cause of the internal strife.
"It's been days already, and I heard there have been several casualties. I bet there will be an outcome soon." At the surrounding tables, the same topic dominated discussions.
Liu Wuxie didn't have time to enjoy the tea and left, pushing his movement technique to the limit. He then vanished down the road.
What do you think?
